Hancoff Named BBYO Regional Director Omaha — David Goldstein, chairman of the B'nai B'rith Youth Organization Cornbelt ! Region Board, has announced ' the appointment of Steve Han- • coff to serve as BBYO Regional l Director, with headquarters in f Omaha. A graduate of St, Johjl's College in Baltimore, Maryland, Mr. Hancoff lias served on the staffs of Habonim summer camps, and spent a year in Israel in a Habonim kibbutz program. As BBYO Regional Director, Mr. Hancoff will be responsible for coordinating BBYO activities in the Cornbelt Region which includes Omaha, L i n c o l n , Sioux City, Des Moincs, Sioux Falls and Ottumwa. Plans are now being formulated for the BBYO W i n t e r Convention which will be held at the Omaha Hilton Hotel December 25-29. More than 200 delegates arc expected to attend. Mr. Hancoff said that the planning of the Winter Convention has given him an opportunity to meet and work with many members of the community, both youths and adults. young people, and the interest and cooperation offered by the adults in the region. "The potential is here to build an outstanding BBYO program," he said. Hancoff said that one of the primary goals of the Winter Convention is*to involve as many interested teens as possible. "Scholarships are available for BBYO members where necessary. T h o s e interested should contact me at the Jewish Community C e n t e r , " he said.

Pomerantz Will Head Des Moines Campaign Des Moines—Harry Pomerantz has been appointed as general chairman of the 197.3* AH-In-On Campaign of ,,the. "Jewish Welfare Federation. Announcement of his-appolntment was made by Sidney Rubin. Federation president, Mr. Pomerantz 1s a past president of the Jewish Community Center and has served - on the Federation Board of Governors. He was appointed to the Na. tional Defense Executive Re-' serve and still serves on its board. He has received the citation of merit from National Temple Brotherhood for services to the Chautauqua Society, and has -been awarded a life membership in. the National Chautauqua Society. Lincoln—Governor J. J, Exon will host a dinner at the Executive Mansion in Lincoln on Wednesday, November 29th at 7 p.m. The dinner will join the world-wide observance of Israel's 25th anniversary of statehood, and the part Nebraska is playing in marking this milestone in Jewish history. The Honorable Shaul Ramati, Consul General of Israel and guest speaker of the evening, . will present an award to Governor-Exon on behalf of the State of Israel for the Governor's participation in the Israel Bond program commemorating Israel's 25th Anniversary.
