"Omaha has been asked, along with every other community across the nation, to pledge full support to the 1971 campaign," Mr. Gross said. "To reach our goal will require increased efforts and sacrificial giving from all of us. If Israel is to survive, we must make the sacrifice. ' "This is a critical year for

Israel and the Jewish people," Mr. Gross continued, "The leaders of the 1971 campaign will be assuming a grave responsibility, For this reason we have asked Morley Zipursky, the 1970 campaign chairman, to serve again as chairman for the current campaign. Morley demonstrated last year his commitment to the campaign, and his ability to get the job done." Mr. Gross said. "I am confident.that Morley's dedication and tireless efforts will again result in a( successful campaign for our community. I-am grateful to Morley for assuming this tremendous responsibility again this year."

A Message From fhe Chairman

OMAHA) NEB., FKI., FICB. 4, 1971

Our Moment inHistory In 1971 Israel will enter into an era of grave danger or an era of possible peace. While we pray for future peace, we recognize the overwhelming needs of the present. Safety is bought at a staggering price to Israel. Her own citizens pay for that security, At the same time, never in its twenty-two years of independence.has Israel closed its doors to any Jew seeking home and haven. The cost of the safety and resettlement of those Jewish refugees from the iron c u r t a i n and Arab countries must be met by the Jews of the free world. The Omaha, Jewish community belongs to t h a t greater community of responsible a n d responsive Jews of the free world paying the price of human needs. Omaha's share of the bill „ I in 1971 is two million dol- < \ Morley Zipursky lars. Two million dollars, while almost double our 1970 campaign record, is a fair and equitable share for our community to raise. We will need to mobilize a maximum effort to meet our }, goal. Normal Increases will not.serve today. Dramatic, un- | precedented increases are needed. This Is a time for giving % from principle. • I The campaign leadership, at every level, promises its | own pacesetting.giving. We promise as well better cam- p paign organization, communication, coverage and expert \ and informed solicitation. % How successful the 1971 campaign will be wilf depend | upon how deeply we identify, how much we feel that Israel's % survival is our problem. The money we give will be in direct |s proportion to our degree of Identification and commitment, p Omaha Jewry can have a hand in shaping the destiny % -of a land and a people. | I'm a proud Jew, fortunate to be part of this moment in % I history. We all must share In making sure that Israel is a | * proud part of this history. £ MORLEY ZIPURSKY §
