Sunday Meeting to Explain Youth Pilgrimage Program Omaha—Details of the Israel Youth Summer Pilgrimage Program for high school youth who are currently in the 10th or 11th grades, will be explained .at a special meeting Sunday, December 6, 1970 at 7:30 p.m. at Temple Israel. . The program was recently adopted by the boards of the Omaha J e w i s h Federation, Beth Israel Synagogue, Beth El Synagogue and Temple Israel.' The aim of the program is "to strengthen the Jewish identity of youth through a program of study, travel and work in Israel." Applications are now available at all synagogue offices and at the Jewish Community

Center. Applications must be submitted by December 20. S e l e c t e d participants will each receive a $250'grant from the Federation, in addition to a similar grant from the sponsoring synagogue to apply against a an estimated $1,190 cost for the 7 week pilgrimage Only a limited number of participants will be accepted. Full details of the program will be explained to interested students and their parents at the meeting Sunday at Temple Israel. Stanley Slosburg is chairman of the Israel Pilgrimage Committee, which is composed of representatives from the sponsoring synagogues and the Omaha Jewish Federation.

The speaker, a 35-year-old doctor, has been residing in Israel since August 1970. He was one of 39 signatories to the letter written to. the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs to criticize a press conference organized at the beginning of this yea"r by Soviet authorities. For security purposes, it has been, requested that his name not

be used • in press publicity. Beeauseof the nature of the doctor's visit, and the information he will present, only members of the Jewish Community have been invited to attend the Beth El meeting.
