Ten-year-old Jim Zipursky lies on his bed looking at baseball cards. It is a comfortable bed, surrounded by filled book shelves in a carpeted bedroom of the home he shares with his parents and two sisters. Jim Z i p u r s k y , 10-year-old Omaha Jewish youth, knows no other way of life. In another part of the world, 10-year-old Jewish boys like Jim have never slept in a bed above ground. Their homes in Israel lack the comfort and security that Jim Zipursky takes for granted. As & result,, underground shelters have been their bedrooms since the day they were born. They too, know no other way of life. Their life styles may differ; they may never meet; but Jim Zipursky and his counterparts in Israel have in common their rights as 10-year-old Jews to live and grow—in security and in dignity. They need each other to achieve that goal.
