Ben Curion Urges French Emigration ]'. Paris (JTA)—Former Prime Minister David Ben G u r i o n .urged French Jews to emigrate en masse to Israel. The 83year-old Israeli statesman, addressing a dinner of the French United Jewish Appeal, exhorted French Jews "not to forget "or foresake their heritage of a .chosen people and to fulfill their duty." Anti-Semitic and anti-Zionists placards have appeared in various parts of the capital city. These posters liken Israel to Nazi Germany and the Israeli army to the Gestapo. Mexico has become a center of anti-Semitic propaganda which-is being disseminated in. all Latin-American countries. The Mexican authorities do not seem to take any action to stop this hate campaign.

JDL Head Removed From Editorship of Jewish Paper New York (JTA) — Rabbi Meir Kahane, national chairman of the Jewish Defense League, was denounced this week by the weekly' Jewish newspaper he formerly edited. Rabbi Sholom Klass, publisher of the Jewish Press, an Orthodox-oriented tabloid published in Brooklyn, dissociated the paper from Rabbi Kahane and other leaders of the JDL. He accused Rabbi Kahane of making the JDL a "personal political club" and waging a "campaign of vilification"

Washington, D. C. — True magazine charges that 28 U.S. congressmen and senators last year accepted campaign contributions totaling $38,500 from the "neo-Fascist" Liberty Lobby. The magazine said Liberty Lobby's founder,. Willis Carlo, is a dedicated Nazi and an admirer of the late Adolf Hitler. It further charged Carlo intends his organization to be "the nucleus for the American Reich" by which "be seeks to undermine the American system." Zlgmond, "a - nice Jewish boy and a draft resistor," I felt I must make loitie comment from my point of view, as a "nice Jewish boy . in Vietnam." I disagreed with his basic logic. Dr. Zigmond stated in a round-about way that because lie carried a draft card, and paid his taxes, he was permitting the war to be fought in his name. He then mentioned his not wanting to be classified a conscientious objector because he'd still be cooperating with the selective service. His reasoning blew my mind. The pur, pose of the CO status is for the benefit of those, like Dr. Zigtnond, who are truly opposed to the war and killing in partlcular. As for the part that Judaism plays on a Jew's decision to avoid the draft and protest, all ; I can say is what I heard from -other Jews in Vietnam. I met . around two hundred Jews during the High Holidays in Long Bihn, South Vietnam. The following are some of the comments made by the Jewish G I.'s I talked with: 1. Eugene Skinner, Director of Human-Community Relations for the Omaha Public Schools, was the guest of the Omaha ADL Committee at their regular meeting October 27. ADL concern about the recent disturbances at Central High School prompted the invitation for Mr. Skinner to speak to tlis committee.' Mr. Skinner indicated that the disturbances at Central were part of the problem many schools all over the country 'were-, experiencing. " T h e r e was no indication that Black Anti-Semitism was involved. It was not necessarily even a confrontation between Black and White. Rather," said Mr. Skinner, "it reflected the rift that e r i s i t s between the "haves' and the 'have-nots' among our young people." In answer to questions posed by members of the committee, Mr. Skinner indicated that tensions have eased at Central High and that there were "encouraging signs of parental concern reflected in offers of help." Mr. Skinner reported t h a t Security Guards are on duty at Central to help keep unauthorized people out of the school; that a volunteer group of parents were helping with hall patrols and classroom visits; that students were being given the opportunity to air grievances with school officials; and that every effort was being made to keep the school secure and maintain an atmosphere for learning.
