San Antonio, Tex. (JTA)—A joint United States-Israel communique issued by the Texas White H o u s e , following two days of talks between President Johnson and Israel's Premier Levi E s h k o l , said that "the President agrees to keep Israel's military defense capability under active and sympathetic examination and review, in the light of all relevant factors, including the shipment of military equipment by others to the area." The communique stated that the President and Prime Minister "considered the implications of the ]>acc of rearmament in the Middle East and the ways and means of coping with this situation." The Jewish Community Center's Studio Theatre, under the direction of Ira H a z n i c k, announces t h a t tryouts for the next production "Half A Sixpence" will be held Sunday and Monday, January 21 and 22, in the JCC auditorium. Sunday tryouts will be held at 1 p.m. Monday tryouts will begin at 7 p.m. Mr. Raznick said that the next production will be the "brightest, biggest and happiest musical Omaha has ever seen." He urges all who are Interested in participating in the produc-

tion to come to either of the two tryout sessions. The cast call is for boys and girls ages 12 and over. Correspondent An exchange of gifts of friendship and personal and state mementoes were included at the LBJ Ranch in Texas where Prime Minister and Mrs. Levi Eshkol were guests of President and Mrs. Lyndon B, Johnson. The official gift of President and Mrs. Johnson to Mrs. Eshkol was a needlepoint rug designed by San Antonio's Janet Shook. The rug, depicting a design of the wild f l o w e r s of Texas was embroidered on the back: "To Mrs. Levi Eshkol from Mrs. Lyndon B, Johnson, Jnn, 7, 1!)(»8," Mr. and Mrs, Eshkol presented Gifts of special interest to President and Mrs, Johnson reflecting ancient and modern Israel, To the President the fish-
