Chairman Pleased With Bazaar Efforts Of Federation Women The Federation of Jewish Women's Clubs can boast of another successful contribution to the Children's Hospital Bazaar. "Our women were as generous as usual with their contributions of cash and merchandise as well as with their personal efforts. These and other aspects will be explored at a program sponsored by the Omaha Chapter, UNA/USA on Tuesday, October 21th at eight o'clock p.m. in the Eppley Lecture Hall, Creighton University. A twelve-minute film oiflhe 'Six-Day War" of last June will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Mr. William T. Utley, Dean of "the College of Continuing Studies, University of Omaha. Among the panelists will be Mrs. Calvin (Nick! Newman, Mrs. Moses P .Epstein of New York City, lormer National President of Hadassah and Dr. Ross Horning, Creighton University professor. Admission is free and the program is open to all interested member of the community. Jerusalem (JTA)—Over 10,000 worshipers assembled at tha Western Wall to hear the sounding of the sliofar, which traditionally marks the end of the 25-hoitr Yom Kippur fast. The crowd then broke into the singing of Hatikvah, Israel's national anthem, and "Ani Maameen"—I Believe in the Coming of the Messiah. Tha "Neilah" service, the closing and one of the most significant prayers of the Day of Atonement, had been attended at the Wall by members of the Israeli Cabinet, the Mayor of Jerusalem, members of the Knesset (Parliament), and numerous rabbis. The blowing of the sliofar at the Western Wall was prohibited by the British since 1931, because of Moslem opposition. In spita of this, somuone blew the shofar there each year until the end of British Mandate, and the man doing so was always sentenced to eight months in jail. This was the first time in over 30 years that Jews were able to celebrate this most holy of Jewish holidays at the Western Wall, the holiest site in Judaism.
