Urn Jevrisb Tfeatre Group Performance Announcement of a second evening ot live Jewish theater was announced this week by Joseph Radinowski, chairman of the local Farband group and coordinator of the program in cooperation with the J e w i s h Community Center, The program, to be presented the first week in April, will feature a new musical comedy, "The Travels of Benjamin The III." adopted and staged by David Licht, followed by a trilingual review. The cast, reading like a"who's who in the Jewish theater, includes Ben Bonus, a dynamic singer; Miriam Kressyn, who is known as one of the top stars of the Yiddish Theater, Seymour Itech/.eit, a favorite of both English and Yiddish theater circles, the celebrated theatrical team of Max and Raizel Bozyk; and David Licht, an outstanding actor and director, plus Pola Kndison, labeled as the best accompanist to any solo performer. Openings for Help With 'Oil Bad, Poor Dad' Al Dimauro, director of the Center-sponsored Resident Theater, announced this week that there are openings in the cast and for work with publicity, promotion, staging, costuming and makeup for the next production of the theater group, "Oh Dad, Poor Dad. Mother's Hung You In The Closet And I Feel So Sad." The three-act comedy, a smash hit on Broadway, to be produced at the Center for a mid-April run of five performances gives area residents additional opportunities to work actively with, the- theater and to develop their talents, and abilities, Dimauro said. Adults interested in working with the Resident Theater Productions should contact the Center's Activities Office, 342-irKiG, to be placed on the group's mailing list for tryout and other production information, •

Taioriffg Serffee Available film® Heeded Helping student's with school problems or helping students who want advanced instruction in a particular course of study is the goal of the Center's Tutoring Service. Over 50 students were assisted to better grades the- first semester of school by the service which provides college or graduate students giving personalized individual instruction and supervision to the student. No charge is made by the Center for its. services but a small hourly change-13 made by the individual tutors giving the-instruction. Arrangements for tutoring or possible necessary testing may be arranged by calling the Center's Activities Office, 342-1366.

The Center Youth Orchestra and Dance Band which meets every Sunday afternoon, under professional direction would like additional musicians ta expand, Accordionists, and guitarists are presently needed to develop the "swing section" while any grade or junior high school students who plays an instrument will be welcomed into the group to develop their skill in playing popular music. Israel's Army Ready To Defend Scontry Tel Aviv, Feb. 23, f JTA)—General Yitzhak. Rabin. Israel's Chief of Staff, said today that the Israeli Army was ready for the test i£ the Arabs carried out their threats- to oppose by force the Israeli Negev irrigation program which will indirectly tap the Jordan River. He reiterated that it was Israeli Army preparedness which maintained the gap between the Arab's desire to attack Israel and the possibility of carrying out such aa attack. Deputy Defense Minister Shimon Peres, meanwhile, empha-

sized the need for alertness and increased effort, on the part of Israel to prevent war in the Middle East. In an address to the Tel Aviv Press Club, Mr. Peres stressed that Egyptian President Gamal Abdul Nassar was determined to increase his country's military strength. He said that the only ways Israel could prevent war in the region were by maintaining a deterrent power, increasing its friendship with various countries, settlement of the Negev and Galilee, and intensifying its scientific and technical potential.

Mrs. Brodkey said, ''We are certain that this year's drive will be a success. My co-chairmen arc devoted and competent women, who know the needs to be met locally, nationally and overseas and will assure Omaha of a successful conclusion to our drive." • Mrs. Brodkey's co-chairmen are highly experienced in administrative and leadership activities. Mrs. A. C. Fellman is past president of Beth El Sisterhood, vice president of Hadas£.ah and 1st vice-president of Women's Federation. Mrs. Izadore Elewitz is president of Beth Israel Sisterhood and has served a two-year term on the synagogue board. Mrs. C. M. Newman is past co-chairman of the Young Matron's section of the drive. All three women have worked on Philanthropies for many years serving in various capacities. Young Matron co-chairman, Mrs. Marlon . Somberg, served in the same capacity on the 1963 campaign. She is also vicepresident of the Temple Israel Sisterhood. Mrs. Warren Zweiback, the Mrs. Somberg's cochairman was a captain in last year's drive. : Miss Dorothy Weiner will act as the 1964 Business and Professional Women's chairman. She has participated in many past Philanthropies drives. Further organizational and administrative m e e t i n g s are planned for the near future.
