Yiddish Film This Sunday Mrs. Fred Brodkey will head the Women's D i v i s i o n of the ]9G4 Jewish Philanthropies Campaign in Omaha. The announcement was made this week by Arthur H. Goldstein, President of the Jewish Federation and Mrs. Harry Sidman, President of the Federation of J e w i s h Women's Clubs. Co-Chairman in 19G:t "The Philanthropies scene is not new to Mrs. Brodkey. She lias participated in its activities for many years, and served as co-chairman of the Women's group in 1903. An Appeal to the Jewish Women of Omaha A mobilization a p p e a l for women volunteers was issued this week by Mrs. Fred Brodkey, Women's Division Chairman of the 1964 Jewish Philanthropies Campaign and her cochairmen, "In H)64, we look forward to a spirited and quick campaign. This is one opportunity for many women, representing all aspects of our community life, to join hands and heart in a labor of love for others,

and sustaining life throughout the world. "Those for whom we will he raising the funds—the sick, the oppressed, the refugees, the needy, the aged—and the many causes of maintaining Jewish life everywhere, depend on the women of our community—their devotion, their consecration, and their generosity. Their past record proves it." The letter and return volunteer card reads as follows:

She is on the board of the Chamber Music Committee at Joslyn. a volunteer on the Clarkson Hospital Service League, on the ticket sales committee ol the Tuesday Musical and is past committee c h a i r m a n of the Omaha Symphony Youth Orchestra. Mrs. Brodkey, who with her husband, toured Israel in the spring of l!)lil, spoke of her deep feeling and interest in Philanthropies. "I know," she said, "that I (eel a deep sense of satisfaction in participating in such a worthwhile activity, especially, after having seen the needs of those in Israel as well as those on the home front." , "I feel," she added, "thai these are the people who are taking the brunt for us. We have the capacity and time and should help because we are on the fortunate side." Plans for the 19G4 Campaign will be disclosed shortly. • Dedication Js Praised Mrs. Sidman joined in complimenting Mrs. Brodkey for her ability and dedication in serving the community, "We are fortunate that Mrs. Brodkey will direct the women's efforts in our campaign. She is competent, experienced, devoted, and convinced of the great needs included in the all-in-one Jewish community campaign, the Jewish Philanthropies,".

Shafton Elected Boys' Club Head

The outstanding Yiddish film, "I Have Sinned," will be shown this Sunday evening at the Jewish Community Center, Joseph Radinowski, chairman of the series announced. The (i p.m. film, with sound in Yiddish and subtitles in English, was hailed by New York papers as being an excellent production with scenes of Jewish customs being of considerable interest. The film depicts the story of a Jewish daughter, Esther, who falls in love wi\h an army officer during the war. Admission to the.film is 50 cents for adilits with students and children being admitted free. *

To have five performances the first week in March, the popular off-Broadway musical production by Ilrecht will feature a ticket campaign starting next week directed by Mrs. David Fredericks.
