The Dr. Abe Greenberg Writing Contest, to be held annually in conjunction with Jewish Book Month and sponsored by the Jewish Community Center, was announced this week by Harry Sidnian, Center Committee Chairman. The contest, held in honor of Dr. Greenberg, who has long been a sponsor of progressive youth activities nationally as well as locally, is .open to all Omaha Jewish grade, junior high and high school students and serves to recognize students with writing and creative talent, Sidnian commented, Students submit original essays or poetry on this year's theme, "The Jews and the Bible." Entries, which may be handwritten or typed, are to be submitted to the Dr. Abe Greenberg Writing Contest in care of the Jewish Community Center's Activities Office. Deadline for all entries is December 15. A handsome goldleaf engraved certificate will be presented to all participant1! in the contest while trophies will be awarded to winners of the grade school, junior high and high school divisions. All youths are encouraged to participate in the contest. Sidman concluded.
