"Problems of 'Our Times," Speakers series will be presented by the Jewish Youth Council, its president, Harold Schneider, announced. The series, under the direction of John Spitzcr, Youth Council vice-president, will consist of current topics of interest to adults and students alike. Major Robert S. Kubby of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, will headline the first program on January 21, at 3:30 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center. Major Kubby, stationed at SAC headquarter, is serving on the Joint Strategic Target Planning staff, working out of the Pentagon. The community is invited to the program. A trip with a purpose is the description given to the threeweek June college tour for those boys and girls who will be high school juniors and seniors this September. Visits to major college campuses in the midwest and east will be made to give prospective collegiates a chance to inspect the universities of their choice, and hold personal conference; with university staff and officials. Early reservations are encouraged, since only thirty can be accommodated on the tour, which will be chaperoned by adults. Time will be allotted to stays in such cities as Chicago, New York, Boston and Washington D. C. Center Annoy noes An art contest for grade, junior high and high school students will highlight the activities' program at the Jewish Community Center in recognition of its Jewish Art Month. Entrants may submit drawings, paintings, sculpture ,or any art form. Deadline for entries is February 3 and must be made directly to the Center's Activities Department. • A . C. At its annual Medical Center meeting, the Omaha Chapter of Hadassah will honor Dr. A. C. Fellman, local general practitioner at a 12:30 p.m. luncheon at the Jewish Community Center on Wednesday, January 23. Mrs. Arthur Goldstein, on behalf of the Omaha Chapter of Hadassah, will present a citation to Dr. Fellman for his services and enriching humanitarian contributions to the community as "the personification of the general practitioner of today, who still has the traits and human touch of the family doctor of yesterday," Dr. Fellman's name will be inscribed on the Freedom Bell which stands on the grounds of the Hadassah Medical Center in the Judean hills just outside of Jerusalem. Hadassah's healing, teaching and research programs are integrated in this modern Medical Center that was officially opened in June, 1961, It serves the vital needs of Israel in many areas of medicine. Dr Fellman now in his thirtieth year in the medical profession, was graduated from Creighton University, s e r v e d with armed forces for two and a half years ,and then resumed his practice in Omaha. He was president of Lutheran Hospital in 1957 and 58 and is now on its staff and those of Clarkson, Lutheran and Doctors hospitals. He has served on the boards of Beth El Synagogue, the J e w i s h Federation and others, and is currently a member of the Dr. Philip Sher Jewish Home for the Aged committee. At the outset they were forced to sell their homes, furniture, household g o o d s , and businesses for a fraction of their real value. Now they are being deprived of their unsold immovable property. Mrs. Kulakofsky takes part in the activities of Temple Israel Synagogue, National Council of Jewish Women, Hadassah and the League of Women Voters. Mrs. Marlon Sombcrg will reactivate the Young Matrons' section which include those under thirty, she said. Philanthropies is not new to Airs. Sombcrg who in 1958 served as a co-chairman, of Young Matrons, when her mother, the late Mrs. Lcona Shapiro, was general chairman of the Women's Division. Mrs. Somberg is a vice-president of Temple Israel Sisterhood board in charge of publicity and community cooperation.
