An extensive traveler, he spent the summer on a tour of the Middle East. A well-known authority on the Middle East, Shaul Rnmati, Consul of Israel, Chicago1, 111., and Director of Information, made his appearance as a panelist. Following the War for Independence, Colonel Rnmati, served as Senior Israel Delegate in tha Israel-Jordan Mixed Armistice Conference and then was appointed General Staff Officer in charge of the Israel delegations to the Mixed Armistice commissions with Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan. At that time he was commended by General Yigael Yadin, then Chief of Staff of the Israel Army, for his "outstanding diligence and dignified presentations of the (Israel) "case" as well as for his personal courage w h e n responsibilities required reconnaissance or investigations in the field.
