B'NAI BRI ^CAMPAIGN Ingathering of JACOB s. Guild Garments TO GONT JfjE DURING JUBILEE CELEBRATION Dinner - Dance Honoring Alfred M. Cohen November 4th The two-week golden anniversary Jubilee celebration of the local lodge of the B'nai B'rith, started last week, is being appreciatively Teceived by the Omaha Jewish community. The series of events planned by the B'nai B'rith began Friday with sermons on B'nai B'rith delivered from r the various pulpits, and v.ill be climaxed with a dinner-dance in honor of Hon. Alfred M. Cr>hen, international president of the order, on Sunday, November 1. At the same -time, the local lodge' is doing its share in the national campaign for 75,000 new "B'nai B'rith members, a diive dedicated to Alfred M. Cohen, who last week observed his seventy - fifth birthday. The goal over the entire country is to obtain one thousand new members for each year of Cohen's life. Concrete and encouraging results in the membership drive were presented at a report luncheon held at the Hill Wednesday noon. Fifteen two-men teams are thoroughly canvassing the Jewish community, and their report Wednesday! revealed that they ' were .finding little difficulty in 'obtaining, members.

pie consecrated to the highest ideals of living! Every representative and right thinking Jew should and "must be part of that history which is now in the making." "The great mission of the B'nai B'rith," said Beber in l>is address, "is to unify the Jewish people, so that "we may have one responsible, representative organization which can speak in the name of Jewry. "The purpose of B'nai B'rith today is chiefly educational, and its educational-activity is divided into two parts—4he education of the non-Jew and the education of the Jew." He pointed out that the B'nai B'rith through its anti-defamation league corrects the erroneous attitude of the non-Jew through educational means. The educationof the_Jew himself is effected in "the main through-the two mighty youth organizations of B'nai B'rith, the Hillel Foundation, and the A. Z. A."
