P To Furnish "Fireworks" at Highland The main "fireworks" for the Highland Country Club golfers on the Fourth of July will be the "President's" and "Vice-President's" team play in the morning. The members of the losing team will buy the dinners for the members of the winning team at the July stag, to be held later in the month. The two teams are headed by Abe Herzberg, Highland president, and Sam J. Leon, vice-president. Those matches which are not played July 4th will be played as soon after as possible. Recreation for Earlier Deadline Jewish Old Folks for Next Week As the print shop will be closed Wednesday . on account of the Fourth of July holiday, all news items and articles for next week's issue of the Jewish Press must reach the office by 6 p. m. Tuesday, July 3. !
The first of the series of recreational outings for the inmates of the local Jewish Old People's Home was held last Tuesday. It was so thoroughly enjoyed by the old folks that similar affairs will be held at least once a week during the summer. The next drive and outing will be held next Monday. The volunteers who offered their automobiles will rotate the use of their cars. Those volunteers whose automobiles will be used Monday are A. D. Frank, L Zimman, and Dr. M. I. Gordon. Tuesday the old folks were taken for a long motor drive, and then to Elmwood Park, where they spent the afternoon. Refreshments were served. Mrs. B. A. Simon heads the committee in charge.
