From Leadership

As we enter the season of Passover and spring, we are reminded of the enduring power of renewal, resilience, and hope. Just as Passover tells the story of our people’s journey toward freedom, this time of year invites us to reflect on the strength of our community and the possibilities that lie ahead.

This year, the Jewish Federation & Foundation of Northeast Florida set out with a bold vision and ambitious goals. Because of you, it has been a truly BIG year - one marked by unprecedented engagement, record participation, and a deep sense of shared purpose. Across Northeast Florida, our community has shown remarkable energy and commitment. Federation programs and events have filled quickly, many reaching capacity. That enthusiasm reflects something powerful: a community that is connected, caring, and ready to lead.

Our recent BIG Night gathering was a powerful example of that spirit. Over 500 community members came together, making it the largest campaign event the Jewish Federation has ever held. A testament to what we can achieve when we unite around our shared values and commitment to Jewish life.

Your support of the Annual Campaign continues to create a BIG impact, locally, in Israel, and around the world. Through the strength of collective giving, our Federation ensures that help reaches those who need it most. We remain, at our core, a people-first organization, committed to dignity, safety, and security; to combating antisemitism; and to caring for the most vulnerable, from neighbors here at home to Jewish communities in more than 70 countries worldwide.

At the same time, our hearts remain closely connected to Israel. Even in the midst of the ongoing challenges created by the war with Iran, we are seeing remarkable resilience among the Israeli people and meaningful progress in recovery efforts. The spirit of unity and determination that defines Israel continues to inspire hope for brighter days ahead.

As we look to the future, we are setting our sights even higher. Our goal is to grow and deepen engagement across Northeast Florida, reaching more Jewish individuals and families and ensuring that every Jew feels connected, supported, and empowered to make a difference.

Together, we are building a stronger, more connected Jewish future.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful and meaningful spring season.

With deep gratitude,

AsOne CommUNITY Trip to Israel

This year’s AsOne CommUNITY Interfaith Trip to Israel welcomed 25 travelers. Nearly half were visiting the country for the first time—but all experienced a journey none of them will forget.

Despite snowstorms and flight delays, everyone was determined to go. On day one, several of us visited the elite Golani Base, where soldiers shared a glimpse into their demanding training and deep commitment to protecting their country. That night, we gathered in small groups for dinners in the homes of local Israelis. Their warm hospitality and meaningful conversations brought us closer than ever to our Partnership families.

By the second day, the entire group was united in our partnership region of Hadera-Eiron. We volunteered with Social Delivery, one of our Federation grantees, a nonprofit that collects and distributes surplus goods to those in need. In Pardes Hanna-Karkur, we visited Kedem, a healing center supporting those suffering from PTSD, and a community center where the wives of Reservists shared their experiences of rebuilding life and marriage after years shaped by war and military service. That evening, we celebrated with friends from the region—many of whom have visited Northeast Florida as speakers and performers—and welcomed new volunteers to the Partnership family.

The highly anticipated “track days” brought more exploration. Some participants followed the Interfaith track, traveling overnight to the Sea of Galilee and visiting significant Christian sites on their journey to Jerusalem. Others biked through historic Zikron Yaakov, walked the beautiful Rothschild Gardens, and learned the daring story of the NILI espionage network that challenged Ottoman rule. Another group enjoyed wine tasting while discovering the rich history and culture of Israel’s stunning coastal region.

Arriving in Jerusalem, we were greeted with our first breathtaking views of the City of Gold. The following morning included visits to Yad Vashem, the National Library, and the City of David. Kabbalat Shabbat at the Western Wall brought Jews and non-Jews together

in song as we welcomed Shabbat. Sharing dinner with Lone Soldiers from the USA created another powerful moment of connection.

The next morning, sirens sounded around 8 a.m. We awoke to news that Israel and the United States had attacked Iran. Knowing where to find shelter in the hotel, we immediately followed protocol. Thanks to our experienced tour guides, the support of Jewish Federations of North America, and our tour company Giant Leaps, we were well informed and cared for amid the uncertainty. Though surprised and unsettled, we felt safe.

By Saturday afternoon, walking tours resumed. Checking in on one another and sharing lunch together in the hotel, we did as Israelis taught us: carry on even in challenging times.

With airspace closed and flights canceled, we began planning alternate routes home while continuing several scheduled presentations—including a deeply personal October 7th story from our security guard about his girlfriend who died in battle.

During our time in Israel, we encountered a resilient, generous, and tightly interwoven nation. We returned home inspired to share our experiences, our truths, and support our Federation as we continue to rebuild Israel both physically and emotionally. The Federation looks forward to returning soon to the beautiful land, people, and spirit of Israel. Ken Yehi Ratzon—May It Be So.

Following the Interfaith track of the trip, participants traveled overnight to the Sea of Galilee, visiting significant Christian sites on their journey to Jerusalem.

Big Night: Federation's Biggest Philanthropic Event of 2026

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us for the Inaugural BIG Night.

Over 500 community members came together for an evening that celebrated the strength, resilience, and unity of our Jewish community. It was truly inspiring to see so many people gathered at the Florida Theatre, connected by shared values, generosity, and deep Jewish pride. From longtime supporters to those attending a Federation event for the first time, BIG Night reflected the spirit of a community that cares deeply about one another and about

the future we are building together.

BIG Night was the largest campaign event the Jewish Federation & Foundation of Northeast Florida has ever held - a remarkable milestone and a powerful reminder of what is possible when our community shows up with purpose and heart. The energy in the room was electric, and the sense of connection was unmistakable. Moments like these reinforce why Federation’s work matters so much: bringing people together, strengthening Jewish life locally, supporting Israel, and ensuring that our community

Did We Miss You on Super Sunday?

If we haven’t connected yet, we still want to hear from you. Every gift helps build a safer, stronger, more connected Jewish Northeast Florida—and your support of the Jewish Federation & Foundation of Northeast Florida’s 2026 Annual Campaign makes a real difference.

Through advocacy with lawmakers and civic leaders, we fight antisemitism and stand up for Jewish values. We empower the next generation through programs like Student-to-Student and Tribe Talk, and we sustain vital local services by funding core partners like the Jewish Community Alliance (JCA), The LJD Jewish Family & Community Services (JFCS), River Garden Hebrew Home, and our local Day Schools. In addition, the Community Security Initiative is entirely funded through the Jewish Federation.

Your impact also reaches beyond our community. Since October 7th, we’ve provided millions in support to social service programs in Israel—funding trauma care, rebuilding communities, and helping businesses recover from the ongoing war. None of this is possible without your support. If you haven't made your 2026 commitment, there's still time to be part of the impact.
