Swimtimeduringsummeriscertainlyahighlightoftheday!Campers willhavetheopportunitytoswimeverydayineitherourNEWLY RENOVATEDheatedjuniorOlympicpool(3-5feetdeep)orour wadingpool(21/2feetdeep).
Watersafetyisofutmostimportancetousandthatiswhyallstaffare CPRandfirstaidcertifiedandaretrainedinwatersafety.Our camper-to-staffratiosarethestrictestduringpooltimeand lifeguardsarealwaysonduty.
Camperswhopasstheswimtestareallowedinthedeependofthe pool.Camperscanoptoutoftheswimtestiftheywouldprefertostay intheshallowendofthebigpoolorthewadingpool.Theswimtestis demonstratingtheabilitytoswimfromoneendofthepooltothe otherwithoutstoppingorrequiringassistance.
InstructionalSwim
Ouraquaticsdepartmentrunsprivateandgroupswimlessons throughoutsummerforanaddedfee.Swimlessonscanbescheduled duringthecampdayandwewilltakecareofescortingandpickingup yourcamperfromtheirswimlesson.Onceourpoolreopensin May/June,wewillbegintakingreservationsforswimlessons.

Gibborimisforouroldestcamperswhoarereadyfor independenceandwanttoexploreLAandOrangeCountyall summerlong!Theirscheduleistypicallycomprisedofone mitzvah(commandment-gooddeed)projectperweek,one beach/bayday(Fridays),andtheremainingdaysspent adventuringallaroundthearea!
OurGibborimgroupwillhaveadedicatedteenspaceinthebuilding thissummerwithastaff-to-camperratioof1:8.Theycanswimany campdayspentin-houseorontripswithearlyreturns(2pm). Gibborimcampersmaygooffinsmallgroupsforsomefieldtrips withparent/guardianapproval.Wehaveregularcheck-intimes throughoutthedaytohelpensuresafetyandfacilitateresponsible independence.
Weunderstandmostofourteencampershavephones,however, campshouldbespentsocializinginpersonwithfriendsandhaving fun.Wewillhavededicatedelectronicusetimesdesignatedonthe schedule(typically30minutesperday),howeveroutsideofthat specifiedtime,theexpectationisthatelectronicsareaway.

Do
campersswimeveryday?
Camperswillhavetheoptiontoswimnearlyeverydayatcamp.Someexceptionsapplyifyourcamperisoutonafield triporinaspecialtycampthatconflictswithswimtime.WedotypicallyofferswimearlierinthedayforcampersinPM specialtycamps.Campersthatopttonotswimoftenspendadditionaltimeeitherinthegymoratplayground.
WhatdoIneedtopackformycampereachday?
Camperswillneedalunch,swimstuff(don’tforgetthesunscreen!),close-toedshoes,andawaterbottle.We recommendpackinganextrasnackasweareprettyactivethroughouttheday. PLEASELABELEVERYTHINGYOUSENDWITHYOURCAMPER.
Doescamphavenaptime?
Campdoesnothavenaptime.Intheextremecircumstanceacamperneedsanap,wecanoftenaccommodateonein thecampoffice,howeveritshouldnotbearegularoccurrence.

Campshouldbefreeofelectronicsandtoysfromhome.Therewillbeplentyoftimeaftercampforthosethingsandwe wouldratherspendthetimeatcamptogether.CampKomaroffisnotresponsibleforthetheftordamageofpersonal property.
Ismychildresponsibleforcarryingtheirownbelongingswiththemallday?
Wetrytohavedesignatedhomeroomswhereeachcampgroupcanleavetheirbelongingstominimizetheamountof stuffyourcamperhastocarry.Wewilloftenhavethembringalloftheirbelongingstothelockerroomsbeforeswim time,howevertheremainderofthedaytheytypicallyonlyhavetheirwaterbottlewiththem.

Campersarerequiredtobringtheirownlunchandsnackstocampeveryday.Wedonotproviderefrigeratorsor microwaves,sopleaseplanaccordingly.Sendyourcamperwithnecessaryutensils.Weareanut-freecamp.Donot sendyourcamperwithfoodcontainingtreenutsorpeanuts.Wewillaskyourcampertoputitaway.
MedicalPolicies
