Jewish Family Service of Dallas
Karla & Larry Steinberg Building
Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Thursday, March 26, 2026

Since 1950, Jewish Family Service of Dallas has provided compassionate, whole-person care to our community. Now, our new 100,000-square-foot Karla & Larry Steinberg Building brings services to support physical, emotional, nutritional, and financial health, along with community support, together under one roof.
The campus has been thoughtfully designed to reflect our mission and refreshed brand. Filled with natural light, greenery, and carefully furnished spaces, it promotes healing, dignity, and growth.
The building houses expanded programs, innovative services, and collaborative areas for staff, volunteers, and community partners— all designed to help every person we serve thrive.
This new campus represents our mission, vision, values, and commitment to support every person, at every turn, and at every stage of life.
Remarks from JFS Dallas leadership, Capital Campaign leadership, and community partners
As we affix the mezuzah to this new building, we honor the Jewish values that guide our work and the community we serve.
Building maps and descriptions of featured spaces can be found on pages 11-26 of this booklet.

The Meeting the Moment Campaign represents a bold and transformative investment in the future of our community. With the guidance of the Capital Campaign Leadership Team, the support of the JFS Dallas Foundation, and the generosity of hundreds of Meeting the Moment campaign donors, this campaign set out with three clear goals: fuel innovation, expand critical services, and ensure long-term sustainability for generations to come. Together, this collective vision has laid the foundation for a stronger, more responsive Jewish Family Service of Dallas.
The Meeting the Moment Campaign has transformed the way we care for our community. We introduced truly whole-person care, addressing not only the emotional, nutritional, and financial needs of our community, but also their physical health. By adding medical services, we have created a more integrated model of care, ensuring every individual is supported at every turn.
With the purchase and renovation of this new campus, JFS Dallas can now bring more programs under one roof. Our agency is expanding to include a second medical clinic, a dental clinic, a state-of-the-art sensory gym for children, and an enhanced food pantry, allowing us to serve the community in new and meaningful ways. This expansion is not just about space; itʼs about increasing access, creating opportunities, and providing whole-person care for all.
Securing the future of JFS Dallas is a key focus of the Meeting the Moment Campaign. By growing the endowment and prioritizing planned giving, we are building a lasting financial foundation to support our mission for generations to come. With a goal of growing foundation assets to over $15 million by 2028, this endowment ensures that JFS Dallas can continue to innovate, expand, and meet the moment— today and in the years ahead.
Thank you to those who gave in support of the Meeting the Moment Campaign. Levels are determined by the cumulative amount given to the Capital Campaign, as well as gifts within the fiscal year (August 1, 2024 – July 31, 2025) to JFS Dallas and the JFS Dallas Foundation. In-kind donations and operational grants are not included.

Dental Office (opening 2028)

JFS Parkside Health Center (Primary Care)

Many spaces within this building have been named in honor of the generous donors who supported the Meeting the Moment campaign. Please see page 18 for a full list of named areas on the first floor.
Located at the main entrance, the Welcome Center serves as the primary point of entry for staff, visitors, volunteers, and clients. Trained staff and volunteers greet guests, answer questions, and help guide individuals to the services they need.
Safety and security were carefully integrated into the buildingʼs design in consultation with security experts and federal law enforcement. The campus includes monitored cameras, alarms, protective materials, bollards, and secure areas that ensure the safety of everyone inside, while remaining welcoming and unobtrusive.
Behind the Welcome Center, staff coordinate client navigation to ensure individuals can easily connect with the many programs offered throughout the building.
At the center of the campus is a secure courtyard accessible from both buildings. The landscaped outdoor space offers a peaceful setting where clients, volunteers, and staff can step outside, enjoy fresh air, and recharge. The courtyard also provides an easy connection between Buildings A and B on the first floor, while a skybridge links them on the second floor.
Read more about this available space on page 28.
The Conference Center is a versatile, wheelchair-accessible space designed to bring people together. The room can accommodate up to 200 guests and features modular tables and chairs that allow for flexible arrangements. The space can also be divided into two smaller rooms to accommodate more smaller gatherings.
Equipped with a state-of-the-art audiovisual system, including projectors and sound equipment, the Conference Center is ideal for seminars, trainings, meetings, and community events. Ten large windows provide abundant natural light, creating a bright and welcoming environment.
In addition to serving JFS staff, volunteers, and board members, the Conference Center is also available for community organizations to rent for their own meetings and events. A selection of cocktail tables, linens, desks, and seating options allows the space to be easily customized for a wide range of gatherings.
The brand new clinic features 12 exam rooms and work areas for up to four medical providers. Services include primary care, physicals, vaccinations, sick visits, medication management, and chronic disease care. The clinic also has its own in-house lab, allowing patients to get tests done on-site instead of sending them out to a third-party lab. This makes diagnosis and treatment much faster and more affordable.
Like the JFS Northpoint Health Center on Greenville Avenue, the clinic accepts most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, and also serves uninsured patients.
The clinic is designed to integrate primary care with behavioral health and nutrition support, ensuring patients receive comprehensive care that addresses both physical, emotional, and nutritional health. An additional 2,960 square feet has been reserved for JFSʼs first dental clinic, scheduled to open in 2028.
Many spaces within this building have been named in honor of the generous donors who supported the Meeting the Moment campaign. Please see page 18 for a full list of named areas on the first floor.
The expanded Food Pantry is more than double the size of the previous Arapaho Road location and is projected to distribute over 1.4 million pounds of food each year. As a client-choice pantry, individuals and families can walk the aisles and select the groceries and hygiene products that best meet their needs, a model proven to preserve dignity and encourage healthy choices.
The pantry includes walk-in refrigeration and freezer storage, expanded food storage areas, and a private space where clients can meet with nutritionists or case managers, or participate in educational sessions on health and food literacy. JFS Dallas remains the only food pantry in the DFW area with a dedicated kosher food selection.
Located next to the Food Pantry, the Volunteer Lounge offers a comfortable space for volunteers to take a break, enjoy refreshments, store personal belongings in secure lockers, and connect with one another between shifts. Open to volunteers from all JFS Dallas programs, the lounge honors the vital role they play in serving the community and provides a relaxing, welcoming space where they can feel appreciated.
Read more about this available space on page 28.
Formerly located in Richardson, PLAN Clubhouse and PLAN Connections now have a bright, fully designed space in the new JFS campus, giving members access to more services and opportunities. Members run the PLAN Bistro, gaining hands-on experience in food service and hospitality, while also participating in social programs, job skills training, and meaningful volunteer work. Being part of the main campus allows members to connect with other JFS programs and volunteer across the agency, expanding skills, resources, and community engagement.
The Kosher Home Delivered Meals program now has a dedicated space for meal preparation and packing. From this area, volunteers and staff coordinate the packing and delivery of nutritious kosher meals to home-bound older adults and individuals who are unable to shop or cook for themselves. The program ensures that vulnerable members of the community can maintain independence while receiving the nourishment they need.
The Grove is a bright, welcoming space designed to encourage collaboration and connection among staff and interns. Filled with natural light and comfortable seating areas, it provides a place for employees to share ideas, work together, and build the strong teamwork that allows JFS Dallas to deliver coordinated, whole-person care.
The lounge also features a separate, fully kosher kitchen, accessible by badge entry for select staff who observe strict dietary practices, creating an inclusive environment where our team of nearly 100 professionals can thrive while serving the community.

The courtyard provides an easy connection between Building A and Building B on the first floor, while the skybridge links the two buildings on the second floor.

The Career and Financial Services (CFS) area of the new building features private offices where Career and Financial Coaches can meet confidentially with clients as they work toward financial stability and career success. The department provides one-on-one coaching and group workshops focused on budgeting, resume building, job search strategies, interview preparation, ESL classes, and digital literacy.
The CFS space also includes a specialized computer lab, the AT&T Connected Learning Center, which seats approximately 15 individuals and features computers arranged in a classroom-style setting. This lab serves as both a workstation for clients applying for jobs and a dedicated space for ESL, financial literacy, career networking, and other educational sessions led by our team of professional coaches and community partners.
Read more about this available space on page 28.
The new building significantly expands Behavioral Health services, with more than 40 private spaces for therapy and case management. Large windows bring in natural light and offer views of surrounding greenery, creating a calm, restorative environment for healing.
The Childrenʼs Services wing includes a diagnostic testing room for assessing learning differences and developmental needs, as well as six play therapy rooms, doubling the capacity of our Arapaho office. The wing also features an observation room equipped with a one-way mirror, allowing clinical interns to observe therapy sessions and learn from our licensed therapists while maintaining a comfortable environment for the child.
At the heart of the space is a state-of-the-art sensory gym designed to support children with sensory processing challenges while helping them develop motor skills, coordination, communication, and emotional regulation. Filled with natural light and playful colors, the sensory gym is designed to feel welcoming and fun, somewhere any child would look forward to visiting. It features elements such as a rock-climbing wall, ball pit, interactive lights, and textured sensory elements. The space provides therapists with a dynamic environment to engage children through movement and play while supporting their emotional and developmental growth.
An accessible area on the second floor is dedicated to programs that support older adults and their caregivers. Services include care coordination, counseling, community chaplaincy, support groups, and specialized assistance for Holocaust survivors. These programs help older adults remain independent, connected, and supported as they age.

Jewish Family Service of Dallas was founded in 1950. Our services address physical, emotional, nutritional, and financial well-being for all. From primary medical care to a food pantry, counseling, and career coaching, we ensure everyone has what they need to reach their full potential and shape their own lives.

Established in 2012, the Jewish Family Service of Dallas Foundation supports the long-term viability of JFS Dallas through planned giving and endowments. It allows thoughtful, generous participants to make a lasting difference in our community by establishing or contributing to a fund.

PLAN (People Living Active Now), a program of Jewish Family Service of Dallas, provides compassionate, community-based support for individuals with mental illness and their families.
Through connection, purpose, and meaningful work, members find a place to belong and a pathway to greater independence.
With our new campus bringing JFS Dallas, the JFS Dallas Foundation, and PLAN under one roof, our newly redesigned website is bringing them together online, and weʼre making it easier than ever to stay connected.
Our new site is your one-stop destination for exploring volunteer opportunities, accessing programs, viewing events, getting help, and more. Seamlessly designed for both desktop and mobile, everything you need is now in one place.
