Mia Charro was born in Amorebieta, a beautiful town in Vizcaya in the north of Spain. She was brought up with her six siblings and an undefined number of cats in a small house surrounded by a magical setting: a church, fields through which to run, trees to climb, gardens to explore, sunflowers... And some ruins which they used to call “El Castillo” (the Castle).
Living in the countryside, near a “Castle” influenced her imagination and her desire to create tales and stories, as well as her love of animals, starry skies and nature in general.
