P&G Gas Station

Wichita, KS

TESSERE’s Automotive Division recently completed the new P&G convenience store and gas station at Pawnee & Greenwich—the first of its kind in Wichita. More than just a fueling stop, this project fills a vital gap in the neighborhood while delivering a modern, safe, and efficient facility that enhances the surrounding community.

The project included complete site work, utility connections, and the erection of a wood-frame building designed with customer convenience in mind. Features included the installation of underground fuel tanks, pump islands, and a canopy configured for both safety and efficient traffic flow. Inside, the store layout was carefully planned to support energy efficiency, accessibility, and ease of movement for customers.

From navigating challenging site access to designing the layout from the ground up, our team transformed a blank slate into a fully functional, future-ready facility. Along the way, we built a strong partnership with the station’s owner, whose vision and collaboration played a meaningful role in shaping the outcome.

DK Fuel Station

Tyler, TX + Palestine, AR

Seeking to enhance their prototype design for cost savings and increased energy efficiency, Delek US approached TESSERE in a collaborative effort. After a rigorous RFQ process, TESSERE secured the project, impressing the client with our extensive expertise in energy efficiency and Green Building practices.

During the initial project, Delek US was particularly pleased with TESSERE’s responsiveness and ability to meet deadlines, leading to an ongoing partnership. Since the prototype redesign, TESSERE has played a pivotal role in designing and overseeing the construction of three new groundup stores in Texas and Arkansas.

Additionally, we have successfully rebranded the exterior facades of around 200 existing locations across Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico. This continued collaboration underscores TESSERE’s commitment to excellence and innovation in meeting Delek US’s evolving needs

TA Travel Center

Stuart, IA

The Travel Centers of America (TA) Fuel Station project in Stuart, Iowa will transform a 21.6-acre site at the southwest corner of I-80 and South Division Street into a full-service travel center designed to serve the needs of both motorists and professional drivers. This new destination will bring expanded services to the community and provide critical infrastructure along one of the region’s busiest transportation corridors.

The development will include a 3-bay truck repair shop, a modern retail convenience store, a dedicated diesel canopy, a multi-product dispensing canopy, and a large truck parking area to support long-haul operations. Together, these features will create a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for travelers. The existing Economy Inn on the adjacent property is outside the project scope and will remain in operation throughout construction and beyond.

TESSERE will lead the design, documentation, and permitting for the project, ensuring that the facility is functional, efficient, and aligned with both community needs and client goals.

Walser Automotive Service Lab

Renovation

WSU Tech, Wichita, KS

The WSU Tech Walser Automotive Service Lab renovation, executed by TESSERE, re-imagined approximately 12,000 SF of the existing “C” Building to deliver a cutting-edge educational environment for advanced vehicle maintenance. This transformation included converting garage and classroom zones into a purpose-built lab capable of servicing electric vehicles, hybrids, compressed natural gas systems and other emerging technologies. The project also expanded classroom floor-area, established a dedicated Kubota lab, and introduced climate-controlled spaces. All focused on delivering real-world training aligned with modern automotive industry needs.

In addition to its technical infrastructure, the renovation thoughtfully repurposed overhead doors, removed legacy paint-booths, and installed LED lighting throughout to enhance energy efficiency. ADA-compliant men’s and women’s restrooms were upgraded with new plumbing fixtures and stalls, and the lobby’s HVAC system was replaced to support comfort and air-quality goals. The result is a future-proof facility that empowers WSU Tech to prepare students for a dynamic automotive workforce while projecting TESSERE’s proficiency in driving strategic, mission-aligned educational design.

Eddy's Toyota

Wichita, KS

This project captures the spirit of Toyota’s brand while bringing a fresh, distinctive presence to Wichita’s east side. Working closely with project contractors and Toyota’s National Branding Group, the team balanced corporate design standards with creative solutions to deliver a one-of-a-kind dealership built from the ground up.

The two-story, 57,646 SF facility combines efficiency, function, and customer comfort. Inside, a spacious showroom, service department, office suites, and customer service areas connect seamlessly with vehicle maintenance bays, storage, and a service drop designed for ease of access. Inground lifts and alignment stations further enhance performance behind the scenes, supporting a smooth experience for both staff and customers.

Andover Fire Station

Andover, KS

Andover, a thriving suburb of Wichita, recognized the need to expand its fire protection and emergency response services to meet the demands of its growing community. In collaboration with the City of Andover, we designed a state-of-the-art facility tailored to support these evolving needs. Situated on a carefully selected site, the station not only enhances the Fire Department’s emergency response capabilities but also includes space set aside for a new community park. This modern facility features a dedicated training mezzanine that supports a variety of essential drills, including the Columbus Drill, stair runs, and standpipe connection exercises. The mezzanine’s flexible design allows it to adapt to future training needs, ensuring its functionality over time. Advanced Hot Zone strategies were incorporated to reduce contamination risks between apparatus bays and living quarters, prioritizing firefighter health.

Additionally, the design emphasizes wellness by using natural materials, maximizing daylight, and incorporating bunking strategies to improve mental health and mitigate sleep deprivation. The new station is already enhancing the efficiency and readiness of the Andover Fire Department, ensuring they are fully equipped to serve and protect the community now and in the years to come.
