I’M JERSON SALAZAR, AN ASPIRING ARCHITECT WITH A KEEN INTEREST IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT. DESIGNED TO HOUSE 2,466 RESIDENTS, THIS COMPLEX INTEGRATES ABUNDANT GREEN SPACES AND VARIOUS SERVICES, INCLUDING ENTERTAINMENT, HEALTH, AND PERSONAL AMENITIES. LUSH GARDENS, WALKING TRAILS, AND ROOFTOP GREENERY PROMOTE A SENSE OF COMMUNITY AND ENHANCE AIR QUALITY, WHILE A DEDICATED PARKING AREA IS AVAILABLE FOR THOSE OPTING FOR PERSONAL GARAGES. THE DESIGN PRIORITIZES ECO-FRIENDLY, HUMAN-POWERED TRANSPORTATION SUCH AS BIKING, SKATEBOARDING, AND WALKING AS PRIMARY MODES OF MOVEMENT WITHIN THE COMPLEX.

9 This building complex was designed for multiple users in mind, who will have to coexist. The buildings have areas for entertainment, studies and green areas. These areas have different purposes included but not limited to; social interaction, fun, gardening, etc.

THIS PAVILION DESIGN IS AN EPHEMERAL, SELF-SUPPORTING STRUCTURE INSPIRED BY THE ORGANIC FORM OF A SEASHELL. UTILIZING THE GOLDEN RATIO FOR SYMMETRY AND HARMONY, IT ACHIEVES STABILITY WITHOUT EXTERNAL SUPPORTS, ALLOWING FOR EASY TRANSPORT AND ASSEMBLY. EVOKING THE SEA’S TRANQUILITY, THE PAVILION CREATES A SERENE SPACE FOR OUTDOOR READING AND REFLECTION. SOME IMAGES WERE CREATED WITH AI.

SECTION B-B’ FLOOR PLAN
THIS PROJECT INVOLVES THE ADAPTIVE REUSE OF BRONXLANDIA, TRANSFORMING THE SPACE INTO A VIBRANT HOSTEL. THE DESIGN MAINTAINS THE SITE'S HISTORICAL CHARACTER WHILE INTRODUCING MODERN AMENITIES THAT ENHANCE THE GUEST EXPERIENCE. KEY FEATURES INCLUDE COMMUNAL SPACES DESIGNED FOR INTERACTION AND ENJOYMENT, FOSTERING A SENSE OF COMMUNITY AMONG VISITORS. THE PROJECT AIMS TO REVITALIZE THE AREA, PROVIDING A WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT WHERE LOCALS AND TRAVELERS ALIKE CAN CONNECT AND APPRECIATE THE RICH CULTURAL HERITAGE OF THE BRONX.
THIS PROJECT FEATURES HIGH-QUALITY RENDERINGS OF THE ICONIC BARCELONA PAVILION, MODELED IN 3DS MAX AND RENDERED USING LUMION AND V-RAY. THE RENDERINGS SHOWCASE THE PAVILION’S ARCHITECTURAL ELEGANCE, CAPTURING ITS CLEAN LINES, MATERIAL TEXTURES, AND LIGHTING EFFECTS TO EMPHASIZE THE STRUCTURE’S MINIMALIST BEAUTY. IN ADDITION TO THE PAVILION, I INCORPORATED MY OWN UNIQUE ROLE BY DESIGNING ELEMENTS OUTSIDE THE PAVILION TO SHOWCASE NATURE, ENHANCING THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE AND CONNECTION BETWEEN THE ARCHITECTURE AND ITS SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT.

THIS PROJECT SHOWCASES VARIOUS WALL TYPES AND CONSTRUCTION DETAILS, EMPHASIZING THEIR ROLE IN UNDERSTANDING BUILDING CONSTRUCTABILITY EACH DETAIL INCLUDES SPECIFICATIONS FOR MATERIALS, INSULATION, AND FINISHES, ALONGSIDE CONNECTION METHODS THAT ENSURE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY. THIS COMPILATION SERVES AS A RESOURCE FOR COMPREHENDING THE PRACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS IN BUILDING DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION PROCESSES.
