Kathryn Kittrell, a cherished Mother, Wife, Daughter, Grandmother, Mother-in-law, and Aunt, was called to her eternal resting place on March 22, 2026. Born on August 26, 1947, in Norfolk, VA, she was the loving daughter of John and Linyon Webb.
Baptized in her early years in Norfolk, Kathryn lived there with her parents until she graduated high school. After the passing of her father, she and her mother relocated to Louisville, Kentucky, where she attended Kentucky State University. It was there that she met the love of her life, Curtis Kittrell. They married in June 1968 and returned to Louisville, welcoming their beloved daughter, Maria, shortly thereafter. Kathryn dedicated several years to serving as a police dispatcher for the Louisville Police Department.
In 1976, the family moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where Kathryn found joy in working as a Teacher’s Assistant for Memphis City Schools until her retirement in 2011.
Her heart was deeply rooted in her community, as she was an active member of Olivet Fellowship Baptist Church. Kathryn sang in the choir and participated in numerous ministries including Palms, nursing home outreach, and sick visitation, spreading love and kindness wherever she went.
Kathryn treasured the moments spent with her beloved husband, Curtis, embracing each day with joy. She had a passion for shopping, movies, traveling, and solving murder mysteries, as well as visiting those in need. Kathryn often donated to her favorite charites; Salvation Army and St. Jude Hospital.
Known for her warmth, radiant smile, and generous spirit, Kathryn leaves behind a legacy of love. She is survived by her devoted husband, Curtis; her daughter, Maria; her Son-in-Love, Reggie; her Sisters-in-Love, Rosa and Marcia; her cherished grandson, Brandon; and her dear nieces, Jonetta Scott, Johnesia Scott, Karana Smith, nephews, Jesse Scott, Clarence Kittrell and John Smith along with a host of grand nieces, nephews, cousins, close family friends, and church members who loved her dearly.
Her memory will forever shine in the hearts of all who knew her, and her kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day. And not to me only, but to all them that love His appearing.”
II Timothy 4:7
“Still With Me, Mama”
I reach for you in moments no one else can fill— the quiet, the heavy, the ones that don’t make sense. They say you’re gone… but I feel you in everything I am.
In my strength. In my voice. In the way I keep going when it hurts.
I miss you in ways words can’t hold.

But I carry you— not behind me… but within me.
And I promise… I’ll carry the torch. I’ll keep making you proud.
I know you were grateful… and I am so grateful to have had you as my mom.
I Love You, Your Daughter, Maria
