Life’s Reflections

We are celebrating the homegoing of our beloved Irvin Dellon Watson Jr., whose life was well-lived. Irvin was born to Irvin D. Watson Sr. and Brenda F. Watson on February 4, 1970, and he transitioned suddenly to his heavenly home on November 16, 2025. He graduated from Whitehaven High School in 1988. He later earned his associate degree in Applied Science and Business & Commerce Technology from State Tech, now known as Tennessee Southwestern Community College.

Irvin was a member of Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church and also an active member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Orange Mound, where he served in a variety of ministries. He was a dedicated bowler who participated on several teams, including being the youngest member of “That’s How We Roll” and the “Young @ Heart” bowling team.

Irvin was employed at FedEx for 30 years, serving faithfully as a Global Research Agent. The FedEx community will greatly miss his strong work ethic and dedication.

Irvin was married to Eleanor Faye Perkins Watson for 26 beautiful years. To this union, two wonderful children were born: Irvin D. Watson III and Elle’na Watson. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Eleanor; son Irvin III; daughter Elle’na; his parents, Irvin and Brenda Watson Sr.; his brother, Darrell Watson; his mother-in-law, Ellen ( Wordie ) Perkins; his brother- and sister-in-law, Karl and Marcy Perkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

“A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time to quit searching. A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak. A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace.”

Ecclesiastes 3:2-8

There are moments in life that leave our hearts aching, and losing you is one of them. We don’t understand the timing, the suddenness, or the silence that follows. But we hold onto the truth that your journey didn’t end; it simply changed paths. Only God knows why your time here was shortened, shorter than we wished, but we trust His judgment and know He welcomed you with love, peace, and everything beyond open arms, even a rest greater than anything we could ever imagine in this world. We carry your memory: every smile you sparked, every room you filled, the kindness, laughter, and love you gave. It will never be forgotten. Though our hearts are heavy and our minds may be weary, we find peace in knowing you are cared for within His presence. Until we meet again, your legacy will forever live on. We hold your light, the care you gave, and the lessons that made us strong. This isn’t goodbye, just a pause, a space between us for now.

Our paths will cross again, wrapped in God’s embrace. Until then, we’ll wait… until we meet again.
