This mixed-use academic incubator drives change in the business sphere and shapes the future by inspiring next-generation entrepreneurs. This project empowers and inspires innovative start-ups by providing them spaces to prototype, build, collaborate and launch their product. Inspired by the Willamette River nearby, the intent for this space is to mimic the idea of flow and ‘duck ponds.’ The user will walk into the space feeling ready to work privately and collaboratively. The space has a high security system with key card access and control through the lobby space. The space contains a café in the main entrance, wet and dry lab space, coworking spaces, offices, conference rooms, private garage-like spaces that are rentable, prototyping and woodshop. Every working space needs a green space, which is an addition nearing the south side of the building, as well as the north side near the entrance.

RENOVATION AND FURNITURE DESIGN OF
Athens, GA
Summer 2024
A collaboration with a new Airbnb host transformed a small duplex into a welcoming and functional environment for large families, with one side fully furnished and the other awaiting future renovations.
In the summer of 2024, I collaborated with a new Airbnb host who sought a designer to transform their space into an inviting, fresh, and functional environment for hosting large families. Working within a limited budget, my goal was to balance aesthetics with practicality, ensuring that each element maximized comfort and usability. This involved selecting durable, multi-purpose furniture, creating flexible layouts, and optimizing storage solutions to enhance guest convenience and accommodate various group sizes. By incorporating modern furniture, warm lighting, and subtle color schemes, I aimed to create a welcoming ambiance that appealed to families looking for a cozy and memorable stay.
Currently B-side is fully furnished and up for hosting, but A-side will eventually be renovated with removal of walls, new kitchen, floors, etc.

The owner (A) side of the duplex is going to under-go construction by renovating the kitchen and removing the fireplace. These changes will create a more open floor plan, optimizing the already compact space. Once construction is finalized in this unit, similar renovations will be implemented in the Airbnb (B) side.

06 | THE CORNER CHAIR
10 week project 4th year
Furniture design and construction of a working prototype to a 1:1 build.
The corner chair is a perfect blend of functionality, style, and personal significance, making it an ideal addition to the empty corner in my room. Its thoughtful design maximizes space efficiently while providing an inviting spot to relax, unwind, or enjoy its practicality. This chair would address my need for extra seating, offering both myself and my guests a place to sit or set belongings. Positioned to face my TV, it serves as a cozy alternative to lying in bed or sitting at my desk. Crafted from beech wood, the chair’s material adds to its appeal with its durability, versatility, and natural beauty. I’m drawn to beech for its warm tone, unique freckles, and distinct long grain—patterns that I admire for their resemblance to my own freckles. This chair is functional with a personal touch that ties comfort, design, and connection together.
