A Detailed Explanation of These Forging a Partnership – According to Jeff Whippo, a solid foundation of trust and Steps respect between the coach and follower are incredibly important to successful coaching.

■ Inspiring - During this step of the coaching process, a GAPS Analysis takes place, usually through the form of a 360-degree review where the follower that is being coached is assessed by their peers and business partners to their goals and objectives. ■ Growing Skills by Creating Development and Coaching Plans - Development plans are created along with coaching plans in order to outline the commitments and tasks to be accomplished by each in the development partnership. ■ Promoting Persistence - The coach must ensure that the follower remains focused and committed to completing the goals and objectives that have been detailed out ■ Transferring Skills - The coach needs to create a non-threatening learning environment so that the development of the follower is not merely a one-time training event, but an ongoing learning process.
