These two FREE events will be held at the JBSA-Randolph Parr Club and are open to everyone. The Spring Bunny will be available for photo opportunities at 10 a.m. and Kiddie Bingo starts at 10:45 a.m. The children will be able to play five games for a chance to win prizes.

The Spring Egg Hunt will follow bingo at 11 a.m. Don’t forget to bring a basket to hold all your goodies. These events are for children ages 12 and younger.

DEADLIFT COMPETITION

How much weight can you deadlift? Patrons are invited to come and show off their power within. There will be categories for men and woman. Each patron must have a staff member verify the weight deadlifted. The man and woman who lift the most weight will be awarded a prize at the end of the month.

PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT

April 24 • 9 a.m.

Games will be timed or played to a set point limit using rally scoring. This is a mixed doubles elimination format, with each team consisting of one male and one female player. Teams will compete in a round-robin format, playing each other. The team with the best overall record will be declared the winner. Entry fee is $30 per team and preregistration is required.

Everyone is welcome to compete against present and former patrons to make it on the METC Challenge Board. Challenges consist of: fastest 2,000-meter row, most weight bench pressed, deadlifted and lifted in a squat; most push-ups, sit-ups and pull-ups, fastest one mile lap and most tire flips completed in two minutes.

Dress up in your finest Irish attire for the chance to win a prize. Prizes will be awarded to the top male/female and boy/girl finisher. This event takes place at Pershing Field, Bldg. 3212. Interested civilian golfers can obtain a six-month pass to access any JBSA military golf course just like a person with a military ID. All you need to do is provide the following information to the golf course of your choice:

• Full name as it appears on your driver’s license

• Driver’s license number and state of issue

• Date of birth and country of birth

THE PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (PDP)

This program offers golfers the following benefits in consideration for a recurring monthly fee of $75.

Range practice access with one large bucket of balls in designated PDP area seven days a week. Some restrictions apply.

$28 fee (twilight rate with cart) required when playing during specified PDP access times. Begins at noon daily.

Four-day advanced tee time reservations.

10% off Pro Shop merchandise.

Two free clinics per month (first and third Saturday of the month).

Player Development Program Policies:

All PDP members are required to check in with the Pro Shop prior to use of the practice facilities and prior to playing golf. Check-in allowed no more than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled tee time.

The range is closed from 8 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays for maintenance.

Dress code (golf attire) will be enforced for the practice area and the golf course.

No outside food and beverage including alcohol allowed onto the premises.

The Player Development Program benefits, access times or rates may be changed or terminated by the Club at any time with a 30-day notice.

The RV Park has 74 full hookup RV pull-through sites with water, sewage and electricity. There are also two shower facilities and two laundry facilities for the customer’s convenience. All sites are 30/50 amp. Every site has a patio with a picnic table and 69 sites have a grill. There is a maximum stay limit of 30 days and reservations are taken up to 90 days in advance. The rates are $30 per day, $180 per week and $650 per month. The cost for sponsored visitors is $35 per day. The RV Park Office is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mon.-Fri. and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sat.-Sun. with limited services. The Park Office is closed on holidays. Weekend trail rides are available for patrons seven and older for $30. All riders must arrive 30 minutes prior to their appointment time. Adults must accompany children younger than age 13. Riders must be at least 4 feet, 6 inches tall and weigh no more than 225 pounds. If you would like to set up a weekday trail ride, the cost is $40. Group rides and team-building rides are also available. Trail rides are by appointment only and no experience is required. Call to make a reservation.

The Equestrian Center offers horseback riding lessons for all

PONY RIDES AND PARTIES

Pony rides are available for children that do not meet trail ride requirements. The rides are first-come, first-serve between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and by appointment only during the week. A covered deck with tables is available for parties for $50 a half day.

HORSE BOARDING

The Equestrian Center has paddocks for boarding your horse, a covered arena, two outdoor rings, a round pen, wash racks, a hot-walker and many more amenities, so call us for more information. Active-duty military personnel have priority.

This a good time to take advantage of boating at the JBSA Recreation Park at Canyon Lake and surrounding lakes.

Purchase a Joint Base San Antonio Recreation Park at Canyon Lake annual pass for $100 for you and a spouse and enjoy the lake all summer. This pass gets you into both Sunny Side and Hancock Cove.
