The Sanctuary market continues to gain momentum in spite of the market corrections of the last twelve months, and the current volatile economic and geo-political pressures. There were three home sales averaging $1,525,000 in the first quarter of the year, and as of April 1, there were three homes pending and nine for sale, averaging $1,800,000. Buyers are back in the market, but they are negotiating aggressively, forcing sellers to modify their sale price expectations.
So now more than ever, it is critical to properly position your home with a methodical strategy of pricing and marketing. Let me put my unparalleled service and exceptional marketing and networking to work for you.
I look forward to earning your business.

At Eli Crosby Homes, we take pride in delivering a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet all your construction needs. As we move into the warmer and sunnier months, it’s time to give your garden and lawn some TLC! Two simple steps can ensure your outdoor space is summer proof!
1. Weeding
Weeding is a never-ending task, and keeping up with the chore is especially important when you notice weeds lingering in your lawn. These lingering weeds are winter weeds, such as clover or POA Anoa. To eliminate these from taking over your lawn, spray your yard with a herbicide. Not only will this eliminate the weeds, but it will also keep your grass lush.
2. Irrigation
While you haven’t needed your irrigation systems for about 3 to 4 months, be prepared to set it up again. Now is the time to ensure your irrigation is ready for the summer season.
• Turn on your system and let it run through, making sure everything is still working properly and that there are no leaks.
• Dry days are coming in spurts and you will want to be prepared to water your plants regularly, ensuring their health and lifespan.
Ensuring your lawn and garden are weed free and maintaining your irrigation system are essential for vibrant and healthy landscaping. If you tackle these simple gardening tasks, you’ll minimize inconvenience, therefore freeing up time to fully enjoy the summer.

Perched along the Mandeville lakefront, Aperitif is more than just a restaurant—it’s a family-owned dining and catering experience built on warmth, hospitality, and celebration. From the start, the mission has been rooted in people-first service: “We believe in taking care of people, giving everyone a welcoming place to escape for a bit,” the team shares. The result is a cozy yet lively atmosphere that encourages guests to slow down and enjoy life.
While the scenic lakefront location naturally draws attention, it’s the consistency of experience that keeps guests coming back.
“When you create a warm, inviting, and celebratory feeling for someone that they know they can experience repeatedly, you have succeeded,” the team explains. Every detail— from presentation to service—is intentional, making each visit feel familiar, elevated, and memorable.

In just a year, Aperitif has marked significant milestones, including its first anniversary in March 2026 and the Golden Spoon Award from the St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce in late 2025, recognizing its top-notch food and commitment to exceptional guest service. Aperitif is also preparing for an exciting expansion with the purchase of the neighboring Girod Street property, formerly the McClain’s location, with plans still in development.
Behind the scenes, culture is central to the operation. Weekly meetings bring the team together for feedback, collaboration, and creative brainstorming, while pre-shift meetings before each lunch and dinner service help align the staff and set a positive tone for service. Small traditions the team has cultivated have created a joyful workplace atmosphere—Cailla, a beloved team member, often brings homemade cookies, birthday cakes, and treats for celebrations, keeping spirits high and the team connected.

Through its catering entity, The Lakehouse, the team travels for out-ofstate events, gaining exposure to national food trends and bringing fresh inspiration back home.
Community connection remains central to the brand. Aperitif is deeply engaged in the regional hospitality network, regularly supporting and collaborating with local businesses, including Haute Off the Rack, One Pot Momma, Jade Skluzacek of Stella Dallas/The Denim Bar, Gabby Noto, Erin Elizabeth Martin, Heather Mahoney of H2O, Erin Schaumburg of Eros, Cristen Quick, and Tiffany King Creative, among others. The business also works closely with the St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce and Visit the Northshore to help spotlight the local hospitality scene. Giving back is equally important, with ongoing support for charitable efforts such as Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West.
At its heart, Aperitif is built on the connection between food, people, and place. Inspired by owner Cayman Sinclair’s grandfather, Dr. Charles Mary, whose joyful spirit is woven into the brand, the restaurant invites guests not just to dine, but to belong. As the team puts it, “We encourage everyone to bring a friend or create a friend while you’re here.”

Giving your children access to purchases without carrying cash is a good first step in independence. Using a debit or credit card makes keeping track of their spending simple and adding card controls can help guard against fraud.
Think of the controls as a personal security dashboard for a debit or credit card—tools you can adjust anytime from your bank’s mobile app or online banking. One of the most powerful features is the ability to turn the card on or off instantly. If your son or daughter misplaces their wallet, you notice unusual activity, or you want to limit spending until you give the green light, a quick tap temporarily blocks all transactions.
Real‑time alerts let you know right away when a transaction is posting. With card controls you can set spending limits, restrict certain merchant types or designate authorized geographic locations! You can have more visibility of the transactions, more control over spending, and more peace of mind. Stay one step ahead of fraud while helping your child manage money with confidence.

Five-year-old Labradoodle Saint Colceriu-Dandu is, by all accounts, exactly what his name promises. Chosen by his sister Jacie before she could have known just how fitting it would be, “Saint” has proven to be more than a sweet sentiment—it’s a daily reality. Calm, affectionate, and blissfully non-shedding, he has become a steady, loving presence at the center of family life.
Each day, Saint can be found waiting at the door, ready to welcome his family home with what can only be described as a full-body hug. It’s a ritual as reliable as it is heartwarming. “Saint loves being involved in whatever our family is doing,” his mom, Amanda, shares. Whether it’s swimming, riding in the car, taking walks, or simply stretching out on the sofa, Saint is never far from the action—or the people he loves most.
While his affection extends to everyone, there’s a noticeable bond with his dad, Calin—one that may or may not be strengthened by a steady supply of cheese.
The journey to finding Saint began with close friends in Hattiesburg whose Labradoodle left a lasting impression. Drawn to the

breed’s intelligence, gentle temperament, and almost humanlike personality, the decision came easily. “They are incredibly smart, non-shedding, and we appreciated the option to find a smaller size,” Amanda explains. The family ultimately chose the same breeder, Barksdale Labradoodles, bringing Saint into their lives soon after.
Of course, even the most wellbehaved “Saint” has a little spark. Anyone who’s walked down Tupelo Trace has likely heard him before they’ve seen him, proudly announcing each passerby. Saint takes his self-appointed role as neighborhood greeter very seriously —complete with enthusiastic barking that’s all show.
At home, his playful side shines through with a beloved orange lion toy and a giant stuffed chicken he drags from room to room, nearly his equal in size. Still, his favorite place is simple: wherever his family is.
What started as a hopeful decision quickly became a defining part of their home. Saint brings a kind of everyday joy that’s hard to explain but easy to feel—woven into routines, wrapped up in quiet moments, and waiting faithfully at the door, day after day.

Because dogs deserve to thrive all year long, especially in flip-flop season. As temps rise and we all start living our best sun-kissed lives, don’t forget your furry best friend has their own summer needs. Here are a few holistic, vet-approved tips to keep pets healthy, hydrated, and happy all season long:
1. Moisture-Rich Diets Are a Must
Dry food + summer heat = increased risk of dehydration, kidney strain, and itchy skin. Add moisture-rich foods like lightly cooked meats, steamed vegetables, and bone broth (or a vegan mineral broth if you’re plant-based).
2. Protect the Paws
Hot pavement can burn your pet’s paws fast. Walk early morning or evening, and if it’s too hot for your feet, it’s too hot for theirs. Paw balms with natural oils, such as shea or calendula, can help soothe and protect.
3. Cool from the Inside Out
According to Chinese Medicine, dogs can become energetically overheated. Cooling foods like cucumber, watermelon (just a bite!), and white fish can help balance the fire element.
Bonus: Book a Summer Wellness Session
Holistic check-ins during seasonal transitions can help catch early imbalances. Acupuncture, food therapy, and herbal support keep your pet glowing through the hottest days.

4. Prevent Overheating
Skip midday walks, provide shade, and never leave pets in cars. Even 4 minutes can be deadly. A cooling mat or frozen treat toy is a great way to chill them out.
5. Skin & Ear TLC
Ears are just skin with attitude — when the skin is inflamed, the ears flare too. We use custom topicals to boost moisture and maintain balance, keeping things calm from the outside in.

For Tori Pasentine, wellness isn’t just a service—it’s a calling rooted in healing and community. As the owner of Royal Retreat Day Spa, she has created a sanctuary where beauty, relaxation, and holistic care come together.
Founded in 2022, Royal Retreat began as a small family business and quickly evolved into a destination for healing, rejuvenation, and luxury aesthetics on the North Shore. With a background in aesthetics and massage therapy, Tori partnered with her siblings to build a dedicated team focused on therapeutic massage, advanced skincare, and high-end treatments. By incorporating luxury skincare lines like Hydrafacial and innovative Korean beauty, K-beauty techniques, every service is customized to deliver real, results-driven care.
For Tori, opening the spa has been a deeply personal journey. It was during a difficult period of her life when she began practicing self-care and restoration. Finding healing and purpose in those efforts, she was driven to give her clients the same experience. “When I can give something meaningful to my community, it gives me purpose,” she says. “And that purpose helped heal me, too.” Her leadership reflects that passion. Tori is intentional in building a team that shares her values, investing in training and fostering a culture of excellence and growth. Inspired by her travels, she has also created signature rituals and treatments unique to Royal Retreat.
Beyond Royal Retreat, Tori loves being with her spending time with her children, traveling, and staying local—enjoying drinks at Blue Door, her new favorite bar. She remains connected and committed to the North Shore community.

For Amanda, real estate is a natural extension of her passion for people, homes, and community. She approaches each transaction with intention, knowing every home tells a story and every client deserves tailored guidance. “There’s nothing more rewarding than helping a client achieve their goals—whether it’s maximizing value or finding the perfect place to begin their next chapter,” she says. Most rewarding is the lasting relationships she cultivates.
Christine was drawn to real estate for its mix of communication, marketing, negotiation, and problem-solving. With decades of experience, a licensed broker in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, and multiple professional designations, she brings depth and perspective to every transaction. “I believe in doing things the right way and creating an experience that feels both highly professional and personal,” she shares. For Madalyn Goff, art is more than a profession—it’s a calling rooted in connection, healing, and purpose. Based in Madisonville, she brings a uniquely compassionate perspective to her work, shaped by a master’s degree in social work from Louisiana State University and a career dedicated to helping others. From supporting children and families at STARC to working with seniors and leading art therapy for cancer patients, her path has always centered on care.
That same spirit defines her art. Inspired early by her mother, artist Marilyn Cothren, Madalyn grew up immersed in creativity and never let go of it. Today, she creates custom, mixed-media pieces using acrylics, gold leaf, and textured elements, often collaborating closely with clients to bring deeply personal stories to life.
Her work leans whimsical rather than strictly realistic—designed to shift with light and emotion. Many of her pieces honor meaningful moments: a wedding day, a beloved pet, or the memory of a loved one. Each is created with intention, often accompanied by music and prayer, reflecting her belief that art can be both expressive and restorative. Recognized as a featured artist and selected to display work in regional hospitals, Goff also gives back through art therapy and community fundraising. Whether on canvas or in the lives she touches, her goal is simple: to create something that helps people feel seen, comforted, and uplifted.

I recently made the move to the North Shore—and it feels like home. While I was born and raised in New Orleans, I’ve spent years helping clients buy and sell here. Over time, it became more than just a market—it became personal. It’s the quiet beauty. The people. The balance of nature and growth. So I planted roots.
Because this has never just been about real estate—it’s about you. Buying or selling is one of the most important financial decisions of your life. It’s your future, your investment, your peace of mind—and you deserve to feel protected every step of the way. That’s where I come in.
I guide, advocate, and negotiate on your behalf—especially when things get complex. With over $25M under contract and nearly $30M closed in the first quarter of 2026—including one of the largest commercial transactions in the New Orleans market—my focus remains the same: protecting my clients and getting results. Whether you’re buying, selling, or investing, I’m here to help you move forward with confidence.

As pickleball continues to surge across the country, Category 5 Indoor Pickleball has emerged as a vibrant hub for the Northshore’s growing community of players. Co-owner Andrea Magrath and her business partners opened the facility two years ago with the vision of creating more than just courts—they wanted a welcoming indoor space where players of all levels could connect through the sport.
Today, Category 5 brings together neighbors, competitors, and newcomers discovering pickleball for the first time. At its core, the goal is simple: create courts that feel like home and a community that keeps people coming back.

Yvonne Pichoff founded Evolve Coffee + Matcha in 2020 after leaving a nearly decade-long career in finance to pursue entrepreneurship and a more creative path. At the time, matcha had captivated her, but New Orleans wasn’t as familiar with it, so she decided to introduce it alongside something the city already loved dearly-- coffee. By bringing the two together, she created a concept that felt both fresh and familiar. Born and raised in New Orleans, Yvonne built Evolve to be a place where people connect, teams grow, and the customer experience is continually elevated. What began as a single idea has since grown into multiple locations, with a new Mandeville shop opening this spring. With every opportunity, Yvonne continues to expand her brand with intention.

Dr. Lauren Agnew built Eye Wares at the intersection of medicine and fashion, where clinical care meets personal transformation.
“There aren’t many careers where you can remove a foreign body from someone’s eye, bring immediate relief, then collaborate with a Chanel representative on a trunk show or private event,” she explains. That duality defines both Dr. Agnew and the Eye Wares brand.

There was a time when I measured my value by how full my books were. Today, things look very different. Now, you’ll find me mentoring, coaching, and developing my talented team at Gray & Graham and salon owners all across our area. My time is spent face-to-face with stylists, sharing with them my deep passion and care for their craft. Their growth and their future matter to me. For me, business is deeply personal, where I work closely with stylists, not just teaching them technique, but teaching vision.
From my experience, I mentor them to think about the guests’ experience, how to think and move like a six-figure stylist, how to build a clientele with intention, and so many more lessons.
I want to pass on my professional knowledge to stylists, to show them it can give them a life and long-term security. Still, talent alone doesn’t build success. Structure does. Standards do.

Cristen Quick turned a lifelong love of celebrations into her business, Let’s Make Plans, an event planning company. Raised on the Northshore and shaped by years as a competitive dancer, she brings discipline, creativity, and precision to every celebration. Cristen plans each event as if it were her own, with the assistance and devotion of her talented team, allowing clients to be fully present in their moments. Why cook at home when you can go out in Mandeville and explore some delicious and festive dining experiences minutes from your house? There are so many amazing dining options that we as Northshore residents can choose when we want a nice night out or simply don’t feel like cooking. Recently, I had the opportunity to dine at two up-and-coming restaurants in Mandeville. Aperitif and Odelia are both welcome hot spots that offer outstanding dining experiences in upscale settings.
Aperitif, located on the lakefront in Mandeville at 1943 Lakeshore Drive inside a historic cottage setting, is a unique restaurant that offers upscale food with several small plates and full entrees to enjoy. Aperitif is owned by renowned restauranteurs and husband and wife duo Cayman and Sara Sinclair, former owners of the popular Lakehouse restaurant. Besides first-class food, Aperitif boasts an upscale bar serving up creative and seasonal cocktails and mocktails. The food menu offers a little something for everyone. Inventive appetizers include Thai royal red shrimp vermicelli salad with pickled lime and sweet chili, heavenly crawfish and mozzarella arancini balls, and my favorite warm lobster rolls which feature generous portions of butter-poached Maine lobster meat on a toasted brioche bun with a flavorful tarragon aioli. Also, the wedge salad is the perfect starter if you choose to dine on Aperitif’s classic steak au poivre. Speaking of entrées, Aperitif offers incredible options designed to satisfy any pallet. I’m a huge steak au poivre fan and Aperitif’s take on this classic French dish is second to none. The star of this dish is the peppercorn brandy sauce reduced just enough to to form a velvety sauce that covers a tender filet mignon. Whipped potatoes and grilled asparagus are the perfect accompaniment to this dish. This dish rivaled one of the best steak au poivre dishes I ever had at Le Diplomate Restaurant in Washington D.C. Pro tip: add Aperitif’s famous truffle fried as a side to experience the full French “steak and frites” adventure. Additionally, the braised short ribs are served atop green chili cheese grits with a sauce bordelaise. This hearty dish hits all the

right buttons for anyone craving a flavorful bite. For those seeking seafood, the scallop and shrimp Clemenceau is absolutely divine. How does pancetta-wrapped scallops and royal red shrimp laced with a light lemon crème sound? The thought alone has my stomach grumbling and a desire to jump in my car and speed over to Aperitif for a glass of white wine and this seafood dish. Seriously, this dish must be protected at all costs and must never be removed from the menu. As the final plates were cleared from my table, the mango sorbet arrived like a bright exclamation point to an already memorable meal. The texture was impossibly smooth and icy, melting instantly as it hit my mouth that cleansed my palate without overwhelming it. What an amazing experience and a welcomed restaurant perfect for a date night or a casual get-together with friends. Aperitif is open for lunch and dinner Wednesday through Saturday.
My next adventure brought me to the unique and tasty Odelia. Located at 3529 US-190 in Mandeville, Odelia is an eclectic restaurant that will transport you to a cozy Parisian corner café or brasserie as soon as you step inside. I actually felt like Owen Wilson’s character in “Midnight in Paris” when I ate here for dinner. European and Parisian vibes are definitely front and center at Odelia. Upon entering, I was immediately drawn to the French artwork on the walls and the thickly upholstered large velvet chairs at each table. Initially when Odelia opened, lunch was only offered but dinner is also offered now. The menu pays homage to French and other European dishes. Appetizers include an amazing beet salad with whipped goat cheese, pistachios, and dill and truffled Parmesan fries. I started my meal with the beet salad and the best honey roasted carrots this side of the Atlantic. The carrots were served with whipped feta and a chimichurri sauce. The entrée menu includes chimichurri chicken prepared in a classical French style featuring herb marinated chicken and whipped feta served with Odelia’s delicious honey roasted carrots. Another fantastic option is the slow roasted short rib served with mashed sweet potato topped with crispy onions. This is a truly classic French bistro dish that will teleport your taste buds instantly to the French countryside. For my entrée, I went with the lightly grilled salmon filet prepared with roasted carrots and beets with lemon caper dill sauce cucumber and pistachios. The flavor profiles in this dish were amazing and had such depth. The lunch menu is full

Odelia - Classic Martini
of salad and sandwich options along with incredible appetizers. I would consider ordering two appetizers such as the white bean purée dip and the incredible deviled eggs. However, do not sleep on the truffle Parmesan fries or the French onion dip. The sandwiches featured at lunch provide a wide-range of options sure to satisfy any one. The smoked salmon lox sandwich is a diner favorite along with the Capri sandwich that features pesto, whipped goat cheese, tomato, basil, arugula with fig balsamic vinegar on a perfectly-toasted French baguette. Flavor bomb incoming. Looking for a great Sunday brunch? Odelia offers classic French and European classics with its own twist during brunch service such as its famous quiche, salmon avocado toast and French toast.
In addition to its memorable food menu, Odelia boasts an impressive and extensive wine and cocktail list painstakingly created by co-founder and noted sommelier, Blake De Brock. The specialty coffee is also not to be missed and should be indulged for the full European experience during your next visit.
My visit was such a delightful experience. I wanted to try everything on the menu, but, alas, I needed more people to help me. Next time, I will bring a larger crew so we can dive into the menu and, more importantly, into the full European experience offered by this wonderful gem of a restaurant. Odelia is open for lunch Monday through Saturday and offers dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Brunch is offered on Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

• Sunlight lifts your mood naturally: Exposure to sunlight helps your body produce serotonin, a “feel-good” hormone that can improve mood, reduce stress, and support overall mental well-being.
• It helps regulate your sleep cycle: Getting natural light during the day supports a healthy circadian rhythm, making it easier to fall asleep at night and wake up feeling refreshed.
• Vitamin D matters: Sunshine helps your body produce vitamin D, which plays a role in bone health,
immune function, and even mood stability—many people don’t get enough.
• A little goes a long way: Just 10–30 minutes of sunlight a few times a week (depending on your skin type and location) can provide benefits—no need to overdo it.
• Stay sun-safe: Protect your skin by using sunscreen (SPF 30+), wearing sunglasses, and avoiding peak sun hours (10 a.m.–4 p.m.) to enjoy the benefits without increasing your risk of sun damage.

At Christ Episcopal School, eighth grader Mila Aduli is already proving that leadership has no age requirement. A dedicated student, athlete, and Beta Club president, Mila balances academics with golf and tennis—but her greatest impact is felt through her commitment to kindness and inclusion.
In 2025, Mila was honored as Louisiana’s Youth of the Year by Governor Jeff Landry, recognizing her outstanding advocacy for individuals with disabilities. Her passion is deeply personal, inspired by her younger brother, Ari, who has profound autism, and in memory of her sister Mina, who passed away in 2022.
To honor her sister and support her brother’s future, Mila founded Mina’s Mission—an initiative focused on creating inclusive, welcoming spaces for children of all abilities. One of her most meaningful contributions has been her role in fundraising for the inclusive playground at Fontainebleau State Park. Today, she hosts seasonal events there, bringing families together through connection, joy, and accessibility.
Mila’s efforts continue year-round at We Rock the Spectrum, where she leads monthly STEM activities every first Saturday. Her goal is simple: to make learning fun, engaging, and accessible for everyone. She also helped create the “Kindness Corner” at We Rock the Spectrum—a safe, welcoming hangout space designed especially for teens to feel accepted and included.
Beyond her advocacy work, Mila is also a published author. Her children’s book, LuLu’s First Mardi Gras, shares a message of celebration and

belonging, with 100% of net proceeds supporting special education programs and her ongoing work with We Rock the Spectrum.
When she’s not organizing events or leading initiatives, Mila enjoys photography, spending time with friends, and helping keep Louisiana beautiful through community clean-up efforts. Looking ahead, she dreams of becoming a lawyer—no doubt continuing her mission to advocate for others.
Mila Aduli’s story is one of compassion, resilience, and purpose. While her journey is just beginning, her impact is already inspiring our community—and reminding us all that even the smallest acts of kindness can create lasting change.
