Brandon Singer Brandon Singer cannot contain his excitement about directing this year’s student-directed play, Significant Other. You may recognize him as “the priest” in Mamma Mia!, or as “Mrs. Lynch” in Grease. No words can convey how elated he Is to bring this touching, humane, and gorgeous story to Barrack’s stage. He hopes this production reminds audiences that fulfillment and love arrive exactly when they’re supposed to and may have always existed within our lives. He also hopes you like the show and laugh. If you laugh at the Fire Island reference, you will receive a cookie at the end of the performance. Ean Geller-Nocella Ean is incredibly excited to be playing Will and Tony in Significant Other! In his previous roles in Barrack productions, Ean has portrayed Kristoff in Frozen, Vince Fontaine in Grease, the Big Bopper in the Beat Goes On, and Vlad Vladikoff in Seussical. an avid outdoorsman and artist, Ean is especially interested in food history and preparation. He would like to thank the cast and crew for putting on such an awesome show!
Raya Gilman Raya Gilman is super excited to be playing Vanessa in Brandon’s amazing production of Significant Other. Although she’s done theater before, thIs is her first Barrack production and she could not be happier!! When she’s not acting, she’s either with friends or family, shopping, catching up on her favorite tv shows, or out in nature. One thing she hopes the audience takes away from this play is to not go through life with an agenda and just enjoy moments as they come.
Rosie Ackerman Heyyyy girrrrrls!!!! Rosie (Evan, Zach) is so excited to be in significant other! She’s been in Barrack’s drama department since the sixth (6th) grade, and her roles have included Milky WhIte in Into The Woods Jr., Bird Girl Number Three in Seussical Jr., and Jan in Grease! Her hobbies include: drinking Dr. Pepper, talking about Glee, and relating just a bit too much to Jordan Berman. She would like to thank the cast and crew, especially Brandon for being such a spectacular director. (Also her parents, for coming to see the show. hi guys!!) Enjoy the show!! Amina Levites-Cohen Amina Levites-Cohen is excited to be playing the role of Roger! While she hasn’t been in a play since she was a banana in her second grade play (her big line: “welcome To the refrigerator!”), she enjoys crafting and doing improv. She would like to thank her friends and family for being supportive of her foray into the acting world. Claire Mansheim Claire is stoked to be part of Significant Other! Having played cheerleader-types since the Franco-Prussian War, including Lucy Steele in Sense and Sensibility and Patty Simcox in Grease, she’s excited to take on an interesting character like Laura. She wants to thank the cast for making her laugh every rehearsal day, the crew who have put their time and energy into the show, and Brandon for his joyful leadership throughout this whole process. She also wants to thank the audience for coming to support everyone’s hard work. Last but not least, she would like to thank Lily Wolnek for being an exemplary best friend.
Jacob Spivack Please welcome Jacob in his culminating career role at Barrack! He plays the protagonist Jordan, who can’t quite seem to find the one- but with his friends by his side, he can get through anything. at least, he thinks so… Jacob has spent four years participating in Barrack productions, including Sense and Sensibility (Edward), A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (Reverend Peters, Voice Four), Mamma Mia (Pepper), Our Town (Dr. Gibbs), and Clue (the Cop). He is proud to play such a multifaceted character, and hopes that you all are able to take something meaningful from the show. He also prays that he will be able to remember all of his lines, and would like to thank his friends for helping him memorize them. He would also like to thank his fellow seniors for graciously helping out. He is excited to perform for you all, enjoy the show! Brynn Landow Brynn is so happy she has gotten out of the middle school play industry and has finally made her bIg break in an upper school production. Brynn has had the honor of playing many roles in Barrack’s drama department, including “Bird girl #6”, “Jafar”, “Oaken”, and “Teen Angel”, and she is looking forward to playing more in the future! Brynn was ready to take on the role of “Stephanie” in Full House but was too busy with school work— she had to decline. In her free time, Brynn enjoys eating, watching Netflix, and annoying Mr. Dorsch in Resource. Brynn is excited to take on the part of an old lady as she is taking on her inner self. Brynn is happy with her fellow cast and crew and wants to thank Brandon for all his effort and support!
Liana Matez Liana is so excited to be on the stage again this year with her 6th show at Barrack! Before this show, Three of her favorites have been Seussical, Jr as “the sour kangaroo”, Frozen as “Elsa”, and Grease as “Marty” — Plus a few others that she has been happy to participate in as well. This year she would lIke to thank her whole cast for their hard work and dedication, and a special thank you to Brandon for his incredible work on the show! She would also like to shout out her friends and family for all their support in this show. Liana is so happy to be performing as “Kiki”, as this is her first student directed show.
