NOTIVISION G E O R G I A
Breaking Barriers & Building Futures As 2024 comes to a close, I’m filled with pride as I reflect on what has truly been an incredible year for Notivision Georgia. This year, we’ve focused on breaking barriers and building futures for Georgia’s Hispanic community. Through our efforts in journalism, advocacy, and community engagement, we’ve continued to empower, inform, and uplift those we serve. We’ve made significant strides in connecting with our audience, telling important stories, and making a real difference. The support from our community has been invaluable, and together, we’ve accomplished so much. As we look ahead to 2025, we remain committed to our mission of breaking barriers, building brighter futures, and continuing our work in service to the community. Thank you for being a part of our journey. Monica Pirela CEO & Founder
WE WON AN EMMY This year, we won our first Emmy for "Esperando un Milagro," a powerful story about a Hispanic family affected by domestic violence. We are proud to be the first Spanish-language newsroom in Middle Georgia to receive this honor and look forward to continuing impactful storytelling.
This year, we received several meaningful acknowledgments in recognition of our work and our Emmy win. The City of Macon honored us by proclaiming September 21st as Notivision Day, celebrating our contributions to the community and the important role we play in keeping our audience informed. The City of Warner Robins awarded us a Community Impact Honor for our dedication to empowering and informing the Hispanic population, and the City of Perry recognized our efforts during a city council meeting. Additionally, we received a
special acknowledgment from the City of Centerville for our continued commitment to the community. These recognitions are a testament to the impact we’ve had, and we’re grateful for the continued support from our local cities and community. We are inspired to continue our mission and make an even greater difference
NEWSPAPER LAUNCH This year, we proudly launched our new newspaper, expanding our commitment to informing Georgia’s Hispanic community. Published monthly with 5,000 copies distributed, the newspaper has provided in-depth coverage of local events, vital updates on immigration and policies, and stories that celebrate our community’s culture and resilience. The publication has allowed us to connect more deeply with readers, offering accessible, reliable information while amplifying voices that often go unheard.

STORIES THAT SHAPED OUR COMMUNITY As 2024 comes to an end, we’re proud to reflect on the impactful stories we’ve shared with our Hispanic community in Georgia. This year, we dedicated significant resources to covering the 2024 elections, providing in-depth reporting to ensure our audience was informed and engaged in the democratic process. We also covered stories that had a profound impact on our community, such as the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, highlighting the resilience and solidarity of those affected. Immigration and policy updates remained a priority, as we worked to empower our readers with critical information about the changes affecting their lives. Thank you for trusting us to keep you informed—we look forward to continuing this mission in 2025!

CELEBRATING A YEAR OF SUPPORT This year, Notivision Georgia has been incredibly fortunate to receive a total of $312,000 in grant funding from organizations that believe in our mission to inform, educate, and empower the Hispanic community in Georgia. We are grateful for the support of New Media Ventures, Solutions Journalism Network, Press Forward, and the CUNY Center for Community Media. A special thanks goes to the Pivot Fund, which has supported us for the past three years.
These grants enable us to continue providing high-quality journalism, expand our reach, and create meaningful connections with the communities we serve. Thank you to our grantors for making this work possible!
This year, the Juguetón was a huge success, thanks to the incredible support from our community. We were able to distribute 700 presents to children, bringing joy and holiday cheer to many families. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the collective efforts of our supporters and volunteers. We are grateful for everyone who contributed to making this special event a reality.
THANK YOU! Thank you for your support this year! If we haven’t worked together yet, let’s connect and make an impact in the future.
