After two decades in the financial services sector, in 2022, Ghassan founded Canadian company Nolos Cabinet Multidisciplinaire Inc., a bold venture integrating FinTech, InsurTech, and LegalTech under one platform. Nolos aims to democratize access to financial and legal services for middle-class families. Under his leadership as CEO of Nolos, Jason built a unique ecosystem that includes a Quebec-based legal firm, a notarial study, and a national financial MGA (Master General Agency) distributing protection and wealth solutions sourced from Canada’s top financial institutions.
With Nolos, Jason Barakat leads a multidisciplinary team of lawyers, notaries, financial planners, andexpertsinrelated fields.Hehasdriven growth throughstrategicacquisitions,innovativeproduct development, and partnerships designed to accelerate market adoption across Canada. In 2022, he acquired Skylegal, a legaltech firm based in Quebec. Ghassan is also a Strategic Senior Consultant. His latest mandates were for Chubb Insurance, the world’s largest publicly traded insurance company, and other prominent industry leaders. He provides executive advisory on financial services innovation and integration, B2B2C distribution strategy, and client value creation.
Ghassan Barakat served as President and Principal Officer with AMF (Financial Market Authorities in Quebec) of La Capitale Services Conseils from 2003 to 2021. He led the firm’s transformation, growing its assets under management from $300 million to over $3 billion, and developing its specialized financial services for Quebec’s public sector employees.
In 2017, Jason became President of La Capitale Financial Security (formerly Penncorp Life Insurance), a national firm focused on disability and personal finance solutions for self-employed, blue-collar Canadians. During his three-year tenure, Jason modernized and nationalized an innovative compensation structure; built a culture of performance, inclusion, and advisory excellence; and restructured operations to enhance profitability and customer focus.
Additionally, Ghassan served as President of SSQ Financial Group Distribution for one year, where he led the modernization of the retirement financial planning division for gray-collar clientele, aligned advisor networks and operations for post-merger integration, and strengthened profitability while improving client experience and compliance standards.
His Philanthropic Work
For over 20 years, Jason Barakat has performed the Guignolet de Saint-Vincent de Paul, going door to door duringthe holiday season to collect funds for those in need. He has also supported numerous charitable causes, especially those benefiting public institutions through his work assisting employees with retirement planning.
