Sea to Sky
SeatoSkyisacollectionofsomeofmymostrecentpaintingsonwood.
Throughthebuildingupoflayersofpaintandink,withbrushesandpenstheworkevolves.
IhavebeenexploringthetechniquesofmarkmakingdirectlyontheNaturalwoodensurfaceforthe lastfewyears.Beingguidedbyeachuniqueboard,enhancingthelinesandshapesthatalreadyexistto createnewlandscapes.
Theselandscapesarethemselvesinspiredbytheoceanandmorerecentlytravelstothewestcoastof Canada,particularlyexperiencingthemajesticSeatoSkyHwyfromVancouvertoWhistlerinthesummerlight. I’veendeavouredtocaptureasmallpartofthesemomentsinthisbodyofwork. Givingasmallportalofanothertimeandplacetotheviewer.
Amomentforusalltocontemplateandenjoythequietstillness.
