Retracing Steps. Alive. Variable. fluid. Real. Using memory as a reference allows the paint freedom, not constrained by a still moment. Nurture, Nature. Invention. Memory, through the lens of nostalgia, romanticising a memory. The memory of travel and experiences. A passing moment, a photograph, a memory, but what is real long-term memory? Change, via the passing of time.
New works, new memories, new love. Yet completely consumed by old memories, old love. Our past. History versus memory. A fading, disintegration of memory. The time between trauma and the memory of trauma. Separation and isolation. Time alters memory. Memory through the passage of time. More grand and pertinent. Time alters memory.
