Decisive Moments in the Creative Process The first piece I created this week was to honor a friend facing a challenging situation. At first, I didn’t think I could do it, but then the painting just appeared right before my eyes as I worked.
When I first began, I didn’t know that this piece would be about this situation, but as I worked I realized that I was gathering momentum from unveiling the feelings emerging. I began with canvas, crumpled paper, chalk pastels, and graphite. Then I added additional marking with the digital image, along with additional layers of atmospheres of color.
