We’ve world-class universities, with R&D and innovation capabilities; strong health policies, which includes the NHS, and a strong commercial sector. And, with an ageing population and shortage of care beds we are already seeing rising occupancy rates for UK care homes. This has attracted strong interest from global investors, particularly due to length of the lease available and Sterling’s weaknesses.
Going forward, we believe that technology will play an important role, whether it be big data or social media-led platforms. We see a future that includes automated drug dispensing, greater use of robotics, and that investment in bricks-and-mortar will be demand more personalisation for its patients.
