‘The first stop of your day’

The Coffee Station is a cafe with a mid century modern aesthetic. The space features soft oranges and greens which compliment eachother well, offering a calm atmosphere for customers to relax and enjoy their drinks. There is space for comfortable booth seating as well as three seats at a higher bar style table facing the window, perfect for people watching and seeing the world go by. The entire front wall is made of glass, letting in as much light as possible to reduce the reliance on artificial lighting.

There is a fully accessible WC which is separated by the seating area by a glass block divider, allowing the sun to cast majestic shadows on the walls.

Behind the serving counter, there is a fully equipped kitchen for making in-house food and beverages, such as cakes, toasties, and more noisy-to-make drinks like smoothies. There is a exit door in the kitchen which leads to the loading area, and can also be used as a fire escape in the event of a fire.

Upstairs, there is a sofa area for the ultimate relaxing coffee break, as well as more booth seating.

02 garage conversion / renovation

From a place for storing tools to a place to live...

The aim of this passion project was to renovate a garage into a home. With a full kitchen boasting a full sized fridge, a double bowl sink, and a free-standing oven, residents are able to ‘cook up a storm’. The lounge features a large, bespoke bookcase with a large centre fit for a television, plenty of levels for books and ornaments to be put on display. The dining area features four chairs and an extendable table, helping to save space. Under-stair storage has been added so items such as suitcases, extra chairs, or winter clothes can be safely and neatly stored away until needed.

Upstairs, there are 3 bespoke wardrobes which can fit an abundance of clothes. A desk area allows the resident to work from home. A queen sized bed with bedside tables either side provides extra storage. The bathroom features a large shower and a large bathroom cabinet to hide and store items when not in use. Need for artificial lighting is reduced thanks to the large skylights which decorate the space with natural lighting, assisting in the goal of sustainability.

technical drawings - general arrangement floor plans.

In an effort to reduce the strain on the NHS and provide a safe interim space for patients, ‘Sea & Soul’ is a wellness centre and cafe.

The space features a pool, massage rooms, chromotherapy rooms, aromatherapy rooms, a cafe with a nutrition bar, a nutrition / learning room, consultation rooms, a coworking area, outdoor yoga, and a rooftop gym.

The centre idea came about from research discovering that in 2024, there were over 2 million people in contact with mental health services. This space provides a place to go with amenities proven to reduce stress and release endorphins whilst patients wait to be seen by NHS professionals.

Using sustainable materials and renewable energy, the objective is to help not only the people, but the planet simultaneously. concept.

05 youth centre

TYPE: youth centre

YEAR: 2024

ROLE: concept, design, visualisation

SOFTWARE: revit, photoshop

A youth centre for neurodiverse individuals with the aim of the project being to foster an atmosphere which encourages selfacceptance in hopes of alleviating masking (where an individual, either consciously or unconsciously, suppresses their divergent behaviours in order to appear what society deems as ‘normal’).

Included in the space are areas such as a music room, which was added after research determined music was extremely beneficial for self-expression - it was for this reason that an art room was also included. Upstairs houses a counselling room as well as a meditation room which adopts alternative approaches to traditional yoga, such as by including fidget toys into the practice. A mezzanine floor was used in order to allow optimal lighting into the space - given the site location (right alongside Bournemouth lower gardens) it allows the beautiful trees to be viewed from indoors, essentially ‘allowing the outside in’. Additionally, a ‘green roof’ was chosen to provide space for the local wildlife as well as aid the site in being as sustainable as possible.

06 micronation

TYPE: conceptual residential design

YEAR: 2024

ROLE: concept, design, visualisation

SOFTWARE: autocad, revit, enscape

technical

concept.

The aim of this project was to create a micronation which could survive and thrive without the need for much assistance from the rest of the world.

‘The Gardens of Elysium’, is a self-sustaining space with a greenhouse crop garden at the end of the pier, supplying food for the occupants of the micro-nation. It was purposefully designed for those with an adoration of Ancient Greek architecture, an interest of Greek mythology, and a want for a healthier, greener future.

The site boasts amenities such as queen sized rooms, an indoor gym, and a garden embellished with Ancient Greek statues. Powered by sustainable means such as solar panels and wind power, the micro-nation contributes to the earth rather than taking from it.
