There is nothing quite like the energy of a Friday night under the stadium lights at East Jackson, and I am thrilled to welcome our students, families, alumni, and community members back to the stands for another great year of tradition and school spirit. A great Friday night is about so much more than what happens on the scoreboard- it is a celebration of our entire school community working together. To our football players, thank you for the grit, discipline, and relentless work ethic you have demonstrated throughout the off-season. On the sidelines, our cheerleaders keep the stadium energized, leading our crowd with non-stop passion and enthusiasm every single week. Standard setting, too, is our Marching Band and Color Guard, whose precision, musical talent, and spectacular halftime performances provide the unforgettable soundtrack to every game. There is nothing in high school sports that compares to the atmosphere right here in our home stadium. Every single Friday, our community comes together to showcase what it truly means to be an Eagle. On the field, our football team has spent months sweating through off-season workouts, preparing to play relentless, fast-paced, and disciplined football. Alongside them, our cheerleaders are ready to bring the fire on the sidelines, our Marching Band and Color Guard are set to blow the roof off the stadium during halftime, and our student section is prepared to be the absolute loudest crowd in the state! Athletics teach our young men and women toughness, teamwork, and pride. But the secret weapon behind every winning program is the fan base in the stands. We need every parent, student, alumnus, and community member locked in, bringing maximum energy from kickoff to the final whistle. Eagle Country, As we head into our 20th season, I am incredibly humbled and fired up to be your head football coach. Moving up to Class 4A and stepping into Region 8-AAAA is going to be a battle. But we love the challenge. It is the perfect opportunity to show everyone exactly what East Jackson football will be all about. We respect the players who wore the navy and silver before us. But make no mistake—we are here to work every single day and earn everything that comes next. Our players have busted their tails all offseason. They are ready to leave everything out on that turf on Friday nights. Football is more than just a game. It is the heartbeat of this community and school. Your energy in the stands and your roar under the lights mean everything to our guys. Our goal every Friday night is simple. We will play with relentless effort, discipline, and unity. We are going to work every day to make this community proud. To our faculty, staff, and administration—thank you for supporting our players and coaches.
