FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
“Do you know that the lobster only grows when it sheds its shell?” asked a friend of mine who has lived along the New England coast, noting that having lived in the Boston area, he now knows more about lobsters than he ever thought possible. He explained that the lobster’s shell never increases in size – that the crustacean’s growth is restricted by its protective shell. However, about a dozen times in the lifecycle of a lobster, it molts its shell and becomes completely exposed – but that’s when it grows, sometimes doubling its size within a two-week period before the new shell forms around its vulnerable body. Isn’t that how life works as well, and just like the lifecycle of an organization? When we’re comfortable and protected, we rarely grow. But it is when we step out in faith, leave behind our protective shell and become vulnerable, that’s when our greatest moments of growth occur. Here at MBCA, we have shed our shell and stepped out in faith. Yes, leaving the comfortable campus that has housed much of our school for 28 years, consolidating all three divisions, executing a bond offering, and building facilities that require millions of dollars can make us feel vulnerable. But it is during this time that we have seen our greatest growth in programs, facilities, enrollment, and have realized academic excellence and spiritual growth like never before! We have built Arrow Field, STEM labs, an art studio, and opened a state-of-the-art Student Center. We are currently constructing a new Upper School, Dining Hall, Student Commons, Theater, and performance Gym. And that will be followed by our new Middle School and Lower School buildings. We have left behind the comfort of predictability and stepped out in faith to fulfill the vision ahead. We see an example of this in scripture, as the nation of Israel steps out in vulnerability to enter the Promise Land – Moses says in Deuteronomy 31:6, “So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid…For the Lord your God will neither fail you nor abandon you.” This principle is seen throughout scripture – that is, when we make ourselves vulnerable enough to step out in faith to fulfill God’s calling, it is in those times that we see God’s blessings most abundantly. FROM THE DIRECTOR
Dear MBCA families, A perfect dozen! This is my twelfth year at MBCA, and I am still so honored and humbled to serve at this special place. Not only do you share your children with us, your most precious blessings by far, you share so much of yourselves with us, too - your time, talent, and treasure. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Your belief in what we do means so much. Our school is on course for big changes in the next few years. God is moving mountains, and His plans for the Academy are bigger and bolder than we could have imagined just a few short years ago. Our leadership team is in lockstep, and we welcome your prayers as we walk a new path that will enable us to share MBCA with more families than ever before. It is an awesome responsibility, and your support is critical. Thank you for choosing us! Our Annual Fund volunteers are recognized here, and I am grateful for the sacrifice of their time and energy. They worked hard to make sure the Annual Fund continues to bring in critical dollars that directly benefit each and every student. A special thank you to Kristin and Hank Windhorst for serving as our 2024-2025 campaign chairs. You were perfect for this role! We truly could not have done it without you. I am so thankful for Shannon and Carlton Walstad and their dedication to the Building Up Capital Campaign. In addition to their leadership as chairs for Phase One of the campaign, they planned and hosted last April’s inaugural Eagle Sporting Clays Classic at their beautiful Five Arrow Farm, which raised more than $50,000 for Building Up, and was a simply spectacular event. Our own family has been deeply blessed by the opportunities made possible through your giving—whether it’s after-school clubs, news crew, middle school sports, the FLL Robotics team, or the Eaglettes Cheer Club. The Annual Fund campaign is a truly special time, and I can honestly say that serving as chairman this past year, alongside fellow faculty member Blake Sims, has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had at Mt. Bethel. It was both a privilege and an honor to partner with our incredible faculty and staff - individuals who continually lead by example in every aspect of campus life - in support of our students and each other. Their enthusiasm, generosity, and commitment to our mission set the tone for the entire community and serve as a model of what it means to give wholeheartedly. Throughout the campaign, I was deeply moved by how diligently our team worked to ensure we stayed on track. They didn’t just contribute financially, they gave of their time, energy, and hearts. Their dedication demonstrated what we often say but can’t always fully express: Mt. Bethel’s strength lies in its people. I genuinely love this MBCA community. Time and again, our faculty, staff, parents, and grandparents prove that when there’s a need, they answer the call, willing to sacrifice, to step up, and to make things happen no matter the circumstance. That collective spirit of service and generosity is what makes Mt. Bethel not just a school, but a family united by purpose and faith. I’m beyond grateful to have played a small part in this effort and to witness firsthand the impact that happens when a community rallies together around something bigger than itself. Athletic ASSOCIATION
The Mt. Bethel Christian Academy Athletic Association is the fundraising and volunteer arm of MB athletics. The Athletic Association kicked off 2024-2025 with its signature event, The Eagle Open Golf Tournament at Indian Hills Country Club, and wrapped up the year with the Second Annual Round Eagle Pickleball & Tennis Tournament at Atlanta Country Club. Our generous event sponsors and participants enabled the Athletics Association to raise nearly $30,000 last year! We are blessed and proud to bring our community together in support of the Academy’s coaches and student athletes for another year of excellence for Eagles Athletics. This past summer, the MBAA contributed $75,000 to fully outfit the new weight room in the T. Scott Calvert Student Center, placing the Eagles’ facilities among the best in our region - and beyond. In prior years, more than $200,000 was contributed by the MB AA to purchase non-budget items for our athletic teams and support development of our athletics facilities. MBAA members also annually contribute over 1,000 volunteer hours to help our athletic events run smoothly, including ticketing, concessions, and program banquets. Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers! You truly make a difference for Eagle Nation. Academy families in grades 5th through 12th are registered to enjoy membership privileges in the MBAA, but it is open to all. The Georgia Goal Scholarship Program continues to make a huge impact in the lives of students and families at Mt. Bethel Christian Academy. In the 2024-2025 school year, 114 students were able to receive tuition assistance totaling $963,624 through Georgia GOAL. Without assistance, these students would not have been able to receive a high quality, Christ-centered education. This was all made possible because the individuals, couples, and businesses listed here deferred their state of Georgia income tax dollars to support Mt. Bethel Christian Academy students through the Georgia Goal Scholarship Program. Since 2009, MBCA has been able to offer almost $4.3 million to 290 students. The impact of this is far reaching! Please continue to encourage your family, friends, and neighbors to participate in the GOAL program. GUILFORD COLLEGE , NC (BA SKETBALL) Tej’s story is one of powerful redemption. After being cut from his previous school’s team twice, he came to MBCA and found his place. Through hard work, early morning practices, and relentless effort, he became an All-Region player and now begins his next chapter at the collegiate level.
Nationally, seven percent of high school athletes move on to play in college. At MBCA, more than 10% of our graduates move on to compete at the next level. With Aaron, Bony, and Tej, we now celebrate 28 collegiate athletes developed through our program. These young men remind us that God’s timing is perfect—and often, success is about being ready when the opportunity comes. Like Esther, they faced uncertainty but remained faithful and prepared. They have each seized their moment, and we are incredibly proud of the example they’ve set for the students who follow.

What a force they are proving to be! Eighth Graduating Class 39 graduates They will be attending 22 different colleges in 11 states. They were admitted to 8 Honors Colleges and Leadership Programs at their future colleges. 76% of the graduating class qualifies for the HOPE Scholarship and 38% of the class qualifies for the Zell Miller HOPE Scholarship, which is the highest level of this scholarship program. NOT INCLUDING THE HOPE SCHOLARSHIP, the Class of 2025 was offered $5,447,112 in scholarship offers, averaging to more than $143,300 per student.

Beams, Bricks, & Blessings A YEAR IN REVIEW
THE BUILDING UP C APITAL C AMPAIGN ENJOYS BR ICK S, BIR DS, AND ABUNDANT BLE SSINGS
It was a year of many “firsts” for MBCA as the construction of the T. Scott Calvert Student Center on the Post Oak Tritt campus began to take shape. Students, faculty and staff, parents, grandparents, and visitors learned to embrace the huge hole in the ground, dust, caution tape, heavy equipment, and construction trailers, knowing that it would be worth it in the end. (Spoiler: it was certainly worth it!) However, fun was had along the journey to the completed Student Center, and precious mementos of the 2024-25 school year are sprinkled throughout.
pavers, which would serve the same memorial purpose as the bricks, but would be installed outside between the Student Center and Arrow Field, surrounding the newly installed “iron eagle.” A symbol of strength, power, and freedom for our student-athletes as they soar above their opponents on the field, the eagle was the perfect addition to the outdoor space, and was graciously dedicated to MBCA by Farrah and Rob Patti.
Progress on the Student Center was marked with a first-time, special opportunity for the MBCA community to leave a permanent stamp on the building itself! In November 2024, students, teachers, staff, parents, and Board members signed the final beam that was installed in the steel superstructure. While Upper School students had easy access, school administration worked out the logistics to ensure all other classes - Junior Kindergarten through 8th grade - were able to come to the Upper School Campus by bus during the school day and sign the beam used in the building itself.
As the fall leaves vanished and the winter freeze turned into warmer spring days, two events helped cap off a busy year for the Building Up Capital Campaign. The first Eagle Sporting Clays Classic, generously hosted by Shannon and Carlton Walstad at beautiful Five Arrow Farms on a gorgeous day, was a huge success and raised more than $50,000 for the campaign. Participants enjoyed a day of trap shooting, breakfast and lunch, giveaways, a commemorative Yeti donated by Arrow Exterminators, and so much more. It was wonderful to come together for such a special event, raise needed funds for the campaign, and share the MBCA story with so many new friends and partners. Special thanks to so many in our community who were a part of the fun.
During the same time period, MBCA ran its first-ever brick campaign, which offered commemorative bricks that could be purchased, engraved, and installed in the Student Center archway. Special thanks to Ragan and Jamie Weeks for purchasing a brick for every single faculty and staff member. The beam and the bricks offered the community a unique opportunity to cement our legacy in the Student Center for many years to come! In addition to bricks, the MBCA community was invited to purchase engraved
The second event - the “capstone” Student Center event of the school year, was the “Building Blessing,” which was held in order to thank everyone for their patience, commitment, and support of this construction project all year. The Blessing event took place during exams in May and offered a sneak peak at the almost-complete Student Center before graduation students headed off to college, families left for summer vacation, and teachers enjoyed their time off, with a promise of what awaited them upon their return in August.

The event featured cake, camaraderie, and special “sticky notes” that allowed attendees to wander through the entire Student Center at their leisure, leaving sentiments or offering prayers as they went. Tears of joy in one of our amazing teacher’s eyes when she walked through the building for the first time summed up the gratitude that we all felt for this exciting “first.”
We will look back on this school year and remember the wins, the challenges, and the firsts, but one thing is for sure: this landmark new building is just the beginning! As we continue with this season of growth and progress, we are grateful for all who have supported us along the way. It’s an amazing time to be an Eagle!
