A SISTERHOOD OF STRENGTH, A LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP
Imagine one photo having the power to change your perspective in perpetuity. Standing shoulderto-shoulder among extraordinary women I had long admired, I felt both honored and humbled, suddenly aware that I was now ONE OF THEM. This image of living National Presidents of Jack and Jill, missing my beloved Madam 15, Shirley Barber James, captured more than a moment—it embodied legacy, sisterhood, and profound responsibility. In that instant, I pledged to carry the torch of their vision, to uplift every child entrusted to us, and to tirelessly champion our collective mission. This is the photo that changed my life forever, lighting my path forward.”

From the National President

Greetings, Mothers of Jack and Jill,
Iam delighted to extend a heartfelt welcome to the first printed edition of Execucom. As we unveil this tangible testament to our shared aspirations, I am filled with pride, gratitude, and anticipation for the future of our organization. This edition not only serves as a beacon of our accomplishments over the past program year but also lays the groundwork for the many exciting initiatives that lie ahead.
This year has been nothing short of phenomenal. It is a culmination of the unwavering dedication, creative spirit, and tireless efforts of every member of the Jack and Jill community. I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest appreciation to you all—our members, the dedicated committees, our committed task force chairs, and the outstanding regional and chapter leaders. Your steadfast commitment has been the backbone of our success, and it is through your inspiring work and generosity of spirit that we continue to flourish.
In this special edition, we are proud to feature a new segment called Superkids. This initiative is dedicated to celebrating the exceptional leadership and vitality of our youth. These remarkable Superkids represent the future of our organization. Their achievements underscore the importance of early leadership development and remind us that our future is as bright as the passion and potential of our younger members. Their stories are a testament to what we can accomplish together, and their successes inspire us to push the boundaries of possibility even further.
At the same time, we also look back on a program year that has been replete with milestones and collective triumphs. Together, we have accomplished so much—from innovative projects to community engagements that have enriched our lives and the lives of those we serve. I am continually inspired by the achievements of our committees and the strategic guidance of our task force chairs, who have played an instrumental role in driving our initiatives forward. Our regional and chapter leaders have been the unsung heroes across the country, ensuring that our vision reaches every corner of our community. Your leadership and commitment have not gone unnoticed, and I extend to you a sincere thank you.
As we conclude this phenomenal program year and look forward to these exciting events, I want to express my sincere gratitude once again for your support, enthusiasm, and dedication. It is with your continued passion that Jack and Jill of America remains a proud beacon of leadership, service, and community empowerment. The printed edition of Execucom stands as a monument to our shared journey and as a reminder that every step we take together only strengthens the foundation on which our future is built. Together, we have achieved great things, and together, we will continue to create a legacy of excellence for generations to come.

Long live Jack and Jill!

From the National Editor
Dear Sisters of Jack and Jill,
In a world that often feels uncertain, a sisterhood that stands together becomes a beacon of resilience, inspiration, and hope. Today, I write to you not only as the National Editor but as a proud member of this formidable community, sharing my deep gratitude and excitement for all that we have achieved—and all that we will continue to build together. Our organization has long been a nurturing home where purpose and creativity converge. In these challenging times, our collective strength is more crucial than ever. The sisterhood we share at Jack and Jill is defined not merely by our heritage and history, but by the unwavering commitment and solidarity each of you brings to our community every single day. As we navigate through complex social landscapes and rapidly shifting global circumstances, the power of our sisterhood becomes our greatest asset. THE POWER OF TRANSFORMATION Embracing Transformation to Empower Our Future
Transformation has always been the lens through which I lead—and over the years, I’ve come to recognize it as my superpower. Not transformation for transformation’s sake, but change that draws us closer to who God has called us to be. Together, we’ve embraced change not as a disruption, but as divine direction.
This year, we’ve planted seeds that will shape generations. Through the pending launch of our L.I.F.T. Council—Leaders Inspiring Families for Tomorrow, we are establishing a forward-thinking, community centered body designed to help guide our work with clarity, care, and purpose. We’ve also deepened our commitment to youth agency and advocacy through the Future Black Legislators of America—a visionary initiative that places our teens in real-world spaces where policy, power, and public service converge. These aren’t just strategic moves—they are essential to building a future worthy of our children’s brilliance.
And this work isn’t conceptual—it’s unfolding right before our eyes. We stood proudly with our sisters of NCNW at the inaugural Purple Power Policy Summit in Washington, D.C.—a convening rooted in legacy, lifted by advocacy, and bound by sisterhood. We walked with reverence across the Edmund Pettus Bridge during the annual Bridge Crossing Jubilee in Selma, Alabama— where history meets hope, and our presence proclaims that our stories will never be silenced, erased, or counted out.
These moments weren’t just symbolic. They were transformational. Each one strengthened our resolve to lead with intention, to grow with purpose, and to boldly step into the roles we are destined to fulfill. As we scale our impact, expand our committees, and deepen our reach, we are not just preparing for the future—we are preparing our children to lead it.

When discussing other social issues of concern, Carrington mentions the “Imposter Syndrome.” She explains that this syndrome is fueled by pervasive digital exposure. “With 95% of teenagers accessing devic es, over half spend 4+ hours daily

The Mighty Eastern Region: A Year of Impact and Growth
FATIMAH MOODY Regional Director, DANA ZANDERS Regional Treasurer, NIYA YEBOAH Regional Secretary, ALEXIS JAMES STEALS Member-at-Large
This program year, the Mighty Eastern Region placed a special emphasis on intentional programming for our middle schoolers. Out of that vision, Camp Impact for Middle Schoolers was born. Held at the historic Camp Atwater in Massachusetts, the oldest Black residential summer camp in America, our pre-teen Jacks and Jills enjoyed a memorable summer filled with meaningful activities. Programming centered around three core pillars: fostering a strong connection to African-American culture, building lasting peer relationships, and preparing our middle schoolers for a seamless transition into Teen Group within their respective chapters.

We are proud to reflect on a successful year. The Mighty Eastern Region welcomed two new chapters, bringing our total to 61 chapters. We also hosted four Area Work Days under the inspiring theme Unity in Excellence. In addition, our Children’s and Middle School Cluster drew record participation for our new middle school program, centered around the empowering theme I Am the American Dream.
A historic highlight of the year was our 75th Annual Teen Conference, held in our Founding City, Philadel-
phia, under the bold and resonant theme, We Will Not Be Silenced. Key elements of the conference included dynamic learning tracks tailored for our Jacks and Jills, a robust college fair featuring over 50 colleges and educational resources, and guided campus tours at Temple University. This unforgettable experience offered opportunities for leadership development, cultural enrichment, and academic preparation.
Our work is grounded in our Centers of Excellence, Programming, Membership, Infrastructure, and Events, which continue to enhance regional collaboration and improve our ability to support Jack and Jill families efficiently and effectively.
Looking ahead to Summer 2025, we are excited to host our Mothers Conference in Charleston, South Carolina under the powerful theme Rooted in Resilience: Together We Rise and Excel. We will also return for the second year of our Residential Camp at Camp Atwater, and host the Second Annual Martha’s Vineyard “It’s a Family Affair” event.

The Mighty Eastern Region remains committed to excellence and innovation as we elevate every Jack and Jill experience.

DEIDRE S. LINDSEY
My superpower is X-Ray Vision—I see through the numbers and into the future. With a clear focus on transparency and accountability, I’ve worked diligently to ensure the financial strength and integrity of our organization. Since taking office in July 2024, my immediate priority was closing out the 2023–2024 program year. I partnered with our Finance Manager at Headquarters to finalize chapter year-end financial statements, complete all tax filings, and release the FY 2023–2024 audit to the National Advisory Council and Chapter Presidents. Building on that momentum, unaudited Q1–Q3 financial reports for 2024–2025 are now available on Digital Cheetah. As of the third quarter’s close, our organization remains in a strong financial position—with $1.27 million in investments and $2.15 million in total cash. I also updated the National Travel and Expense Policy to address rising travel costs and began recruiting a part-time bookkeeper to support improved financial operations.
Operating within our approved 2024–2026 budget, I remain committed to fiscal responsibility across all levels—from the National Executive Board to individual Budget Line Holders to National Events. I’ve prioritized timely and accurate distribution of designated funds, including Sponsorships, Loose Change, and pass-throughs, through close collaboration with the Foundation CFO. This year, we launched three special giving campaigns—the IPNT Michele Henry-McGee Memorial Fund, the California Wildfire Disaster Fund, and the St. Louis Tornado Relief Fund—raising a combined $100,000 in critical support. Your generosity and unwavering commitment to service continue to reflect the heart of our mission.
Lastly, I collaborated with the National Bylaws Committee to successfully amend the National Constitution and Bylaws—approved by the delegates in March 2025—to direct members to the Financial Handbook for all dates, fines, and assessments. The revised Financial Handbook, which includes refined processes for sponsorships and donations, was subsequently approved by the National Executive Board in May and shared with the membership. Through every initiative, I remain steadfast in my commitment to clear reporting, strong stewardship, and building trust—one transparent transaction at a time.

arlier this year, Jordan Henry partnered with Illinois State Representative Anna Moeller to help draft House Bill 1910, a groundbreaking piece of legislation aimed at expanding access to naloxone (Narcan)—a life-saving medication that reverses opioid overdoses—in all public libraries across Illinois. Deeply impacted by the opioid crisis affecting communities across the country, including her own, Jordan was determined to be part of the solution. In March, she traveled to Springfield to testify before the Public Health Committee in support of the bill. Her powerful testimony helped lead to unanimous passage in the Illinois House of Representatives, and the bill is now advancing through the Senate before being signed into law by Governor J.B. Pritzker.

A standout student at the Illinois Math and Science Academy, Jordan has consistently demonstrated academic excellence and a deep commitment to social justice. She earned the Illinois Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish and English, conducted research on racial disparities in HIV transmission with Northwestern University’s Center for Computational and Social Sciences in Health (COMPASS), and served as President of her school’s Student Coalition for Racial Justice. She also chaired the Leadership Education and Development program’s Enabling Activism elective. THE POWER OF ENGAGEMENT
A Superpower That Transforms Communities
ngagement is more than interaction—it is the force that drives connection, inspiration, and meaningful change. As a superpower, engagement empowers us to bring people together, foster understanding, and amplify voices that might otherwise go unheard. It is the bridge between vision and action, transforming ideas into impact.
At its core, engagement is about captivating attention, cultivating interest, and fostering participation. Whether leading initiatives, building relationships, or driving social change, engagement ensures that people feel seen, valued, and included. When communities are engaged, they are more informed, active, and invested in shaping a better future.
True engagement is not just about reaching an audience—it is about sparking motivation, igniting passion, and sustaining involvement. It fuels collaboration, strengthens advocacy, and inspires leadership. It turns conversations into movements, plans into progress, and goals into reality. Through engagement, we empower individuals to contribute their talents, voice their perspectives, and take ownership of collective success.
For organizations like Jack and Jill of America, Inc., the power of engagement is the foundation of our programming. It allows us to build connections between generations, foster inclusivity, and ensure our children grow into confident, informed leaders. Engagement transforms passive participation into active impact, ensuring that every member contributes meaningfully to a shared vision.
In an ever-evolving world, engagement remains a catalyst for growth, unity, and transformation. When wielded effectively, it has the ability to shape minds, change lives, and build legacies that endure for generations. During the devastating California wildfires, without hesitation, our Far West Region al Emergency Responders Chair, Jeanitra Hector, and Chair of the Inclusion and Belonging Committee, Medell Briggs-Malonson, created a process to assist our impacted Jack and Jill families and communities. These committees served as the lifeline between our affected families, the community, and our beloved organization. We distributed every cent that was donated to support in any way we could. The Far West Region is truly grateful for our Na tional Executive Board, National Chaplain, and every member who donated, prayed, or aided our region in this effort. #jjwegotus
Within the Far West Region, we Empowered our chapters through targeted training on enhancing their programming, increasing Jack and Jill Foundation grant applications, and engaging with our existing national partners. We collected over 163 units of blood for Our Blood Matters, with 14 chapters either hosting or virtually hosting blood drives.

Governance Team, consisting of the Regional Bylaws Chair, Regional Policy and Procedure Chair, and Governance Chair, hosted office hours to train and educate our chapters on governance matters. Many of our chapters submitted their strategic plans for review.
We Developed new committees to address regional gaps. Our Regional Alumni Liaison Committee worked with our National Alumni Committee and Associate Committee to develop a country-wide Alumni Advisory Committee to engage our alumni as Teen Leadership Conference presenters, mentors, and even host an Alumni workshop and legacy fund at the Far West Region’s Mothers Conference. Our Children’s Cluster Chair helped guide and standardize the Children’s Cluster, especially by implementing a cluster FAQ and oratorical component to each Children’s Cluster. We established groups of chapters that collaborated to curate and plan the Teen Leadership Conference and Regional Mother’s Conference. Our region has stepped up and is ready to continue to LEAD.

Sophia Alexander, a graduating senior at Da Vinci Communications High School and Class of 2025 Valedictorian, embodies academic excellence, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to service. Recently accepted to Stanford University, she will begin her undergraduate studies this fall as a pre-medicine major, pursuing a path rooted in equity and advocacy. A published author in a reputable medical journal, Sophia has contributed impactful research on medical racism in Black maternal health—work that reflects her passion for justice in healthcare.
As the outgoing 2024–2025 Chapter Teen President for the South Los Angeles Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Sophia has led with grace, integrity, and purpose. Her service extends far beyond leadership titles: she dedicates her Saturday mornings to volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club in South Central Los Angeles, and she founded the Saving Our World Organization, a student-led initiative that provides clothing and blankets for sober living homes, hosts book drives, and collaborates with local autistic communities for fundraising and support.
An engaged member of her school community, Sophia participates in Leadership, the Muslim Student Union, and the Asian Student Union. Her deep sense of responsibility is evident in her work ethic—she regularly babysits on weekends—and in her role as a loving sister and daughter. Her peers recognized her extraordinary character and impact by voting her “Most Likely to Win the Nobel Peace Prize.”
Sophia Alexander is a remarkable young woman whose achievements and compassion exemplify the values of Jack and Jill of America. She is a true leader of tomorrow, already shaping the world today.

Over the past program year, I have leveraged my superpower of confidence to empower, mother members, alumni, and youth through intentional, forward-moving initiatives. Through the Digital Cheetah Ad Hoc Committee and the National Technology Committee, I’ve worked to build digital fluency among mothers—equipping them with the tools and confidence to lead with ease in a tech-driven environment. These committees have helped mothers build confidence in their leadership roles by increasing digital fluency and providing practical, accessible training and support. As NEB liaison to the Alumni Connections Taskforce, we have worked to reconnect and celebrate our alumni through spotlights and professional networking opportunities—strengthening the ties that sustain our organization.
As NEB liaison to the National Nominating Committee, I’ve encouraged a transparent and equitable nominations and elections process, fostering trust and encouraging bold leadership. As we look ahead to join the National Youth Trip Taskforce on an inspiring trip to Charleston in 2026, I remain focused on empowering the next generation by helping connect our rich history with their bright futures. I’m confident in our collective strength—and in the enduring power of us.

This encapsulates the guidance and vision that NRS Tamika Henderson brings to the committees and task forces that she oversees: National Technology Committee, National Nominating Committee, and Alumni Connections Task Force, National Youth Trip Task Force and the Digital Cheetah Ad Hoc Committee.
Throughout the 2024–2026 program year, Jack and Jill of America, Inc. has made significant strides in operational excellence, digital innovation, and community connection through the work of several dedicated committees. The Regional Secretaries hosted a successful February Training Retreat, developed standardized toolkits, and enhanced Digital Cheetah training, all aimed at strengthening leadership, compliance, and support for Chapter Secretaries. The National Technology Committee has been equally impactful, closing over 170 helpdesk tickets, supporting 25 national webinars, and collaborating on three major Digital Cheetah updates. Through weekly meetings and close partnership with regional chairs, they’ve championed platform improvements and accessibility while streamlining tech support across the organization. Complementing this work, the
Digital Cheetah Ad Hoc Committee launched tailored onboarding, Office Hours, and specialized trainings—empowering over 1,000 members and laying the groundwork for a certification program and new features rollout every 38 days. The National Nominating Committee updated campaign guidelines for transparency and fairness, oversaw regional elections, and initiated best practice sharing in preparation for the 2025–2026 election cycle. Meanwhile, the National Alumni Connection Task Force focused on engaging former members by launching a quarterly newsletter, building a robust alumni database now exceeding 1,100 contacts, and initiating strategic efforts to support alumni through internships, mentorship, and reconnection with local chapters. Their upcoming survey aims to shape a national alumni engagement strategy, fostering long-term relationships and opportunities for future collaboration.
The 2026 National Youth Trip to Charleston, SC (April 3–5, 2026) will immerse over 900 attendees in African American history and heritage. Highlights include visits to the International African American Museum (IAAM), genealogy workshops, and cultural sites, culminating in a profound experience at Mother Emanuel AME Church.

VANESSA CASTON LAFLEUR
My superpower is amplification, and it has been a driving force in advancing meaningful initiatives and fostering positive change. Through voter education events, we have empowered our families by amplifying their voices and ensuring they are heard in every democratic process. The creation of the Pink Agenda for our legislative agenda demonstrates our commitment to amplifying critical issues, allowing for focused advocacy and impactful policymaking. By updating our bylaws and policies and procedures, we’ve amplified the framework that guides us, ensuring clarity, consistency, and continuity across all chapters. Additionally, the development of the Father’s Auxiliary Mental Health Agenda has amplified the importance of mental health and well-being, providing critical support and resources to fathers throughout our community. In each of these efforts, amplification has allowed us to elevate important conversations, drive engagement, and inspire action. Together, we continue to rise, excel, and build a future where every voice is valued and empowered.

In a groundbreaking move, they supported the organization’s first-ever special meeting to amend national bylaws between conventions, working closely with the National Treasurer and Budget and Finance Committee. A standardized bylaws submission and review process was rolled out across all seven regions, providing consistent guidance and reinforcing alignment with national governance. Meanwhile, the Fathers Auxiliary
continued its mission to uplift and connect fathers through the Power of Us initiative, fostering networks among Active Fathers, Associates, and alumni. They introduced a comprehensive wellness model—spanning physical, emotional, financial, social, environmental, intellectual, and spiritual health—with national speakers and regional engagement, and hosted a well-received national webinar on men’s mental health. Looking ahead, the Fathers Auxiliary plans to launch workshops at regional workdays and organize a meaningful trip to Louisville, Kentucky, focused on heritage and wellness. Additionally, the National Legislative Committee remained steadfast in educating and empowering Jack and Jill families to actively engage in the political process. From organizing state legislative days and regional webinars to securing commemorative license plates in Mississippi and Florida, their efforts have amplified members’ civic voices. The committee is now preparing for the highly anticipated “On the Hill” Legislative Summit in Washington, D.C., where mothers and teens will meet with lawmakers to advocate for the issues that matter most to their communities.

HEADQUARTERS REPORT

The work of Headquarters Staff is at the forefront and touches nearly every facet of our organization, from programming and finance, to governance and membership. Headquarters staff works diligently to not only maintain, but enhance our organizational capacity and infrastructure. It is our earnest desire to always ensure that we deliver timely, thorough, and useful information to our National Executive Board, Regional Directors, national committee chairs, and all mother members when it is needed.
From a membership standpoint, we welcomed 1150 new mothers and successfully transferred 276 to new chapters. To ensure that everyone is knowledgeable and equipped, we executed all of the updates to the Member Manual and continue to perform updates in Digital Cheetah. Our work to enhance our technology capability which aides our mother members is ongoing and helps to ensure that they are prepared for their membership and role in Jack and Jill.
Programming is the heart of what we do to support our members, so we consider our work in this area of paramount significance. Standing in this gap is critical to ensure continuity as the organization transitions boards and committee members. As such we have had the pleasure of engaging directly with many of our corporate
and programmatic partners as a valuable part of the programming, National Sponsorship, and Strategic Partnership committees. However, programming is limited if it is not broadly deployed. Headquarter staff successfully completed over 300 powerpoint decks, flyers, committees reports, webinars presentations, and zoom backgrounds. Additionally, we continue to maintain a robust social media presence.
And lastly, but most importantly, we are committed and steadfast in ensuring our fiduciary responsibilities and integrity. We have ensured on-time processing of per capita and new member fees, end of year chapter and regional reconciliations, and we have completed and filed all reporting and compliance for over 100 chapters in states where it is required, and submitted all state and federal taxes.
All of this work, and so much more, is a testament to a small and committed staff that does the work of Jack and Jill on your behalf, not only because it is a job, but because each of us believes in the organization we serve. We are doing all that we can to ensure the perpetuity of this organization and to support each of you, so that you can do what you are charged to do, make them leaders you must.

Across the nation, Jack and Jill Foundation sparked meaningful change throughout the 2025 fiscal year— fueling dreams, strengthening families, and uplifting communities in more than 23 states with a total investment of over $1M! How did we get there? Through our transformative GAP Fund, we helped over 200 students earn their degrees by investing more than $226,000 to eliminate financial barriers— paving the way for futures filled with promise and economic mobility. With a dedicated focus on education, health, and building strong families, we awarded $470,550 in grants to 69 organizations making a difference at the grassroots level. Additionally, we awarded $105,000 in community service grants to support seven (7) regional teen conferences, fostering youth leadership and civic engagement. Our partnerships and
outreach expand to more communities than ever before, such as our newest partnership with Kodjoe Family Foundation by investing $150,000 to provide Black students with a one-year scholarship covering private High School tuition, room & board, tennis training, tournament fees and high-performance coaching. Other partnerships such as the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), the Foundation supports students in college with $66,667 each year to award $2,500 to six (6) students starting in their freshman year through graduation (up to 4 years). The JMB scholarship program partners with Jack and Jill Foundation also administered by UNCF is supported by Past Foundation President and the 21st National President of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. with her generous contributions to graduate students in the field of Communications and Marketing. This $2,500 award is given to students starting in their
junior year for up to two (2) years. Loose Change – the Foundation initiated program supported by Jack and Jill of America, Inc. contribution for this fiscal year is $46,397 going to a 501c3 organization in the Far West region! Congratulations to all our partners and grantees as we set our sights on even greater impact next year. We offer heartfelt thanks to the Jack and Jill of America, Inc. chapters for their tireless fundraising efforts and to the Foundation Board of Trustees, led by President Christopher Graham, for their steadfast leadership. This collective effort is what fuels our mission—and we’re just getting started. Visit our Instagram Page (Jackandjill_foundation) to see the stories behind the numbers and check out our grantee spotlights to see how the Foundation makes its impact.
