What a celebration!

As we wrapped up America’s 250th birthday, one thing became abundantly clear: our community knows how to show up. This year’s Fourth of July was ﬁlled with creativity, patriotism, and an incredible amount of heart.

From beautifully decorated homes and golf carts to themed costumes, interactive displays, and even stars painted across front lawns, every turn revealed another surprise. The judges had an unenviable task, and I heard more than once that choosing winners was nearly impossible because so many entries were outstanding.

One moment that certainly won’t be forgotten was the Carder, who quite literally went the extra mile by painting herself green as part of her costume. It’s that kind of enthusiasm, and the countless creative touches from so many others, that made this celebration so memorable.

Events like these happen because neighbors decide to participate, encourage one another, and give just a little extra. Together, you created a Fourth of July that will live in the memories of our community's children and grandchildren. Core memories of family, friendship, and patriotism were made and family lore gained a few more chapters.

Thank you to everyone who decorated, baked, volunteered, cheered, donated, judged, or simply came out to enjoy the festivities. You made America’s 250th birthday one for the history books, and we’re already looking forward to what we’ll create together next year.

What a wonderful Fourth of July celebration! As America marked its 250th birthday, our community came together to make the holiday especially memorable. My sincere thanks go to every volunteer who contributed time, energy, equipment, food, planning, cleanup, and good old-fashioned neighborly spirit. Events like this are possible only because so many people are willing to pitch in.

I would especially like to recognize Chuck Alcedo and the entire Alcedo family for their tremendous efforts in arranging the band and presenting our spectacular ﬁreworks display. Their generosity and hard work gave us an evening to remember.

One Facebook commenter even said our ﬁreworks were better than Highport’s— and those who watched the sky light up would probably agree!

The IVHA board does not fund, organize, or have any involvement in the band and ﬁreworks. The Alcedo family personally covered much of the cost of the ﬁreworks. If you enjoyed the show and haven’t yet contributed, donations are still welcome and will help reimburse them for this extraordinary gift to our community.
