Batten Screws The batten screw is a heavy duty fastener, commonly used for fixing large timber pieces together. While they come in a range of
lengths, batten screws are all 14 gauge (gauge refers to the thickness, in this case, 6.3mm), have a type 17 point that will pre-drill into timber, they also have a bugle shaped head to reduce the risk of splitting the timber. Enhance and maintain the natural colour of timber, or alter the colour to meet design requirements with CUTEK® Colourtones.
All CUTEK® exterior wood oils are sold as clear, and if applied without an added Colourtone they will cause the timber to quickly lighten into a beautiful silver patina on exposure to sunlight and UV. NOTE: CUTEK® Extreme CD50 and CUTEK® Wood Preservative diffuse deeply into timber and will continue to provide moisture protection and improve dimensional stability even if a CUTEK® Colourtone is not added and the wood becomes weathered and grey.
