SINCE 2012, we have come a long way, now carrying more than 25 million passengers a year. It is a journey that began with the initiative of a group of forward-thinking Italian entrepreneurs whose pioneering vision gave life to Italo, the irst major liberalisation project in Europe.
Over the years, Italo has strengthened its role within Italy’s mobility landscape, accompanyingtheevolutionoftravelhabitsandreaching an increasingly broad audience that values service quality and the overall travel experience. This journey has also been built thanks to the constant attention devoted to its people, who are supported through ongoing investment in training and professional growth.
A signiicant share of Italo passengers is made up of international travellers who choose Italo to discover Italy’s wonders. This led to the decision to update the magazine, making it bilingual in Italian and English: a tool for tourists arriving with Italo in Italy’s main cities, ready to explore the local area. It offers tips on what to visit, where to enjoy a moment of relaxation and where to savour regional food and wine specialities.
Travel, after all, is not only the route that leads to a destination, but the irst moment of the experience itself: curiosity, inspiration and the desire to discover already begin on board. In this sense, the magazine becomes a true travel companion, able to inspire passengers and guide them in discovering the excellence of Italy.
Italo is not just a train that takes its passengers to their destination, but a vehicle for the uniqueness and excellence of Made in Italy. All our channels, from the website to social media and the magazine, are ideal showcases for presenting Italy’s gems and the excellence of the Italo service. And in this month, even those who do not speak Italian will be able to enjoy our content.

Buona lettura e buon viaggio!

The iconic Faraglioni of Capri: the two in the foreground are the Faraglione di Fuori and the Faraglione di Mezzo. The latter, 81 metres high, is crossed by a natural archway.
SOME OF THE WONDERS OF OUR ITALY are the main themes of this issue of Italo Magazine, which makes its debut entirely in two languages, Italian and English.
We could not inaugurate this new format of the magazine without taking you on a journey to discover places with an important history, among the most appreciated summer tourism destinations, also by international visitors, thanks to their fame and beauty.
The charm of Capri and Ischia, and above all their international renown, is linked to the 1950s, when the phenomenon of the Dolce Vita — fuelled by the post-war desire for recovery and renewal — transformed them into coveted and carefree destinations.
Today, fashion and design trends are once again drawing on the lines and tastes of those years, in which the two islands played a leading role. At Italo Magazine, we explore them in a feature that moves between past and present, for those who wish to relive them with the same energy and pleasure.
Another destination that continues to make Italy unique is Pompeii: a city crystallised by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius inAD 79 and rediscovered, almost by chance, in 1594 by the architect Domenico Fontana, before being gradually re-explored from 1748 to the present day. Indeed, every year, thanks to the great commitment of archaeologists, a new part of this wonder is brought back to light. MovingjustafewkilometresfromPompeii, wecouldnotfailtotalk about the Amali Coast, another pearl of our Italy. Among breathtaking views, rugged coastlines, cliffside villages and the blue of the sea are some of the most charming and unspoilt little beaches. As always, Italy is a country waiting to be discovered, and at Italo Magazine we reveal a part of it to you every month.
Enjoy the read and have a good journey!

The German project involves a fleet of 30 trains, with an option for a further 14 trainsets.

to dell’Alta Velocità ferroviaria in Germania.

Eighteen German cities will be connected with 56 daily services along a 1,300-kilometre network. The project will create around 2,500 jobs. After Italy, the high-speed rail revolution is now heading abroad
After revolutionising the high-speed rail market in Italy, Italo is looking beyond national borders and has chosen Germany to open a new chapter in its history. It is the first step in an internationalisation process that brings abroad an industrial and service model capable of setting a benchmark in Europe. To understand the significance of this new venture, however, we need to go back to the beginning: to the visionary idea that, almost twenty years ago, gave rise to a project destined to change forever the way Italians travel.
Italo’s story began in 2006 with an ambitious entrepreneurial project: to introduce competition into Italy’s high-speed rail sector. After complex years marked by major investments, operational

obstacles and bold decisions, the irst train departed on 28 April 2012 on the Naples–Milan route, opening a new era for rail transport in the country. Italo’s entry into the market represented a historic turning point: competition increased demand for rail mobility, made high-speed travel more accessible, and turned the company into a benchmark model observed abroad as well.
As the market grew, the network also expanded: today Italo connects 51 cities and 59 stations with 118 daily services and more than 25 million passengers a year, increasingly responding to both business and leisure demand.
In recent years, Italo has entered a new phase of development: from the arrival of Global Infrastructure Partners in 2018 to the acquisition of Itabus in 2023, and the subsequent entry of MSC into the shareholder structure. This path strengthens the vision of an increasingly integrated group, capable of combining train, bus and new mobility solutions.
At the heart of this growth remain people, service
quality and innovation. Italo has built its identity by investing in young people, training, hospitality, sustainability and advanced technologies, consolidating over time a modern, safe travel offer focused on the customer experience. With this experience behind it, Italo is now looking to Germany to take the Italian model beyond national borders. The German project envisages an initial leet of 30 trains, with an option for a further 14 trainsets. The overall investment is substantial: €1.2 billion for the trains, plus a further €2.4 billion earmarked for thirty years of maintenance and all related activities, from staff training to IT services.
The German Italo will connect 18 cities along a 1,300-kilometre network, with 56 daily services distributed across two strategic corridors — Munich–Cologne–Dortmund and Munich–Berlin–Hamburg — helping to give a strong boost to the entire high-speed rail sector in Germany.
The impact will also be signiicant in economic and employment terms: the project will create around 2,500 jobs, both direct and indirect, and will involve more than 5,000 sector workers in the construction of the trains. Added to this is the annual contribution for network access, amounting to €250 million, resources that will support the infrastructure modernisation process already launched by the German railway system.
Above, Berlin, the German capital. Top, Cologne, one of the most important cities in western Germany.
To make all this possible, however, it is absolutely essential that, soon, the German rail infrastructure manager provide a clear and certain regulatory framework to guarantee a new entrant access to train paths and station spaces. This is because the contract with Siemens must be signed by June, and this date cannot be postponed; otherwise, delivery times for the trains would be signiicantly extended, making the project no longer sustainable from an industrial point of view.
From an international case history, Italo has now taken the ield to launch a concrete project beyond national borders, bringing to Germany an industrial and service vision that remains faithful to its original vocation: to innovate the sector and redeine the high-speed rail experience.

ITALO E ITABUS: NUOVE DESTINAZIONI
Outside the thirteenth-century walls, the Temple of Consolation stands as one of the masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance. Begun in 1508 and completed over more than a century, it can already be seen from afar by those arriving from Orvieto, like a sign in stone announcing the city. Between legend and history, it was born as a place of healing and pilgrimage, a symbol of faith and civic ambition.

SIMBOLO

CSYMBOL
The iconic Piazzetta of Capri, Piazza Umberto I, an international crossroads and open-air salon, remains the symbolic heart of the island.

Two islands, capable of moving through different eras of luxury while remaining the same. And with rituals that do not yield to the passage time
Capri and Ischia, pearls of the Gulf of Naples and daughters of a geography of desire, have for more than a century told a story of holidays, elegance and transformation, gradually shaping a precise idea of Mediterranean lifestyle. These are places capable of moving through different seasons of luxury while remaining true to themselves, preserving that rare quality that belongs only to myths. Even today, among new openings, contemporary architecture and unchanged rituals, they live in a subtle balance between memory and the present. Capri continues to represent the place where the ritual of the summer holiday takes shape. Its iconic Piazzetta, an internationalcrossroadsandopen-airdrawingroom,remainsthesymbolic centre of an island that, since the 1950s, has turned society life into a language. It is here that the Dolce Vita inds one of its most recognisable expressions: actresses, writers, aristocrats, industrialists and photographers have all passed through this space, helping to build its myth. The gaze of Valerio Di Domenico, considered the father of the island’s paparazzi, precisely captures that era when Capri, every evening, became a spontaneous stage for European high society.
Just a few steps from the Piazzetta, the architecture of hospitality has helped deine the very character of the island. The Grand Hotel Quisisana remains the place where Capri puts itself on display. Founded in 1845 and transformed over time into one of the most iconic hotels in the Mediterranean, it preserves intact the grammar of the great hôtel européen: salons, terraces, inner gardens and reception spaces all express a precise idea of elegance. It is a property that has accompanied every season of the island, from the aristocracy of the Grand Tour to the contemporary jet set, while remaining the natural centre of social life in Capri. Preserving the original value of this history is Hotel La Palma. The island’s irst hotel, it is the place where Capri began to transform into an international destination, already welcoming travellers, artists and intellectuals in the nineteenth century who helped shape its irst modern myth.
In Anacapri, the Jumeirah Capri Palace perfectly expresses this capacity for transformation. Founded in 1960 as the Hotel Europa Palace, at a time when Capri was consolidating its international dimension, the hotel has passed through different seasons of Mediterranean hospitality to become one of the island’s most recognisable addresses. Its entry into the Jumeirah group now marks a new phase, in which luxury is measured through design, wellbeing and a relationship with the landscape. It is a transition that relects that of the island itself: able to renew itself without altering its aesthetic code. But Capri remains above all an island of houses. Iconic Casa Malaparte, suspended on the cliff like a red geometry overlooking the Mediterranean, is more than a villa: it is a manifesto-house where architecture, landscape and autobiography merge, becoming one of the most powerful images of
Fashion, too, becomes a code on these islands: Capri pants have become a summer classic
modern living. Around the figure of Curzio Malaparte, one of the island’s deepest souls has also been built: its cultural and literary identity, which still attracts writers, artists and intellectuals today. This tradition also includes the Malaparte Prize, founded in 1983 on the initiative of Alberto Moravia and Graziella Lonardi Buontempo, which continues to represent one of the most recognisable expressions of Capri’s cultural identity.
More contemplative in spirit is Villa San Michele, built by the Swedish writer Axel Munthe as a sequence of terraces and gardens open to the gulf, while Villa Lysis preserves its decadent imaginary. Even today, contemporary domestic architecture reinterprets the Capri myth. The restorations of historic villas recover the Mediterranean vocabulary of terraces, pergolas, pale stone, hanging gardens and continuity with the landscape, translating it into a more essential and contemporary sensibility. It is an aesthetic that preserves the original relationship with light and the sea, once again transforming living into a contemplative experience.

Fashion, too, becomes a code on Capri. Capri trousers, born as a response to climate and movement, have become a timeless classic of the summer wardrobe. Handcrafted sandals, still made to measure today in the island’s workshops, preserve the sophisticated simplicity that has made Capri an international style reference. The same is true of Chantecler’s little bells. Founded in 1947, the maison transformed this small object into one of the strongest symbols of Capri’s identity. A fragment of memory, luck and belonging, it condenses the island’s relationship with the sea, its treasures and goldsmithing tradition.
Year after year, Capri is chosen as a symbolic space of Mediterranean luxury. Seasonal boutiques reinterpret the relationship between fashion, hospitality and landscape, turning shopping into an immersive experience. The spaces open up like houses by the sea: terraces, majolica tiles, lemons, natural surfaces and rooms crossed by the light of the Gulf. From Maison Chanel, just steps from the Piazzetta, to Louis Vuitton, Capri continues to attract new openings and international collaborations, confirming its status as one of the most vital laboratories of contemporary Mediterranean lifestyle. The rhythm of the days is marked by rituals that have become iconic: an aperitivo in the Piazzetta, dinners at Paolino, days by the sea at La Fontelina facing the Faraglioni, and nights at Anema e Core.
A few kilometres across the sea, Ischia tells another idea of

the Mediterranean. It is an island associated with relaxation, where holidays have from the very beginning taken on a slower dimension, linked to care of the body and expanded time.
The Regina Isabella Resort remains one of the great symbols of the Italian twentieth century, a historic destination for international high society, capable of transforming thermal culture into a sophisticated experience. The Mezzatorre Hotel & Thermal Spa, overlooking the sea from a seventeenth-century tower, still preserves that dimension suspended between privacy and landscape that has made Ischia a cult destination.
The San Montano Resort & Spa, on the other hand, reveals the island’s most panoramic and luminous side, where architecture is in constant dialogue with the sea. Here, the interiors of residences and hotels express another Mediterranean aesthetic: wallpapers, ceramics, botanical prints, natural fabrics and a palette that echoes the colours of the earth and the sea. Everything dialogues with a deeply Mediterranean cuisine, in which the relationship with the local area remains central. Capri and Ischia therefore remain two places where myth, history, design and style continue to meet, building an imaginary that is not merely observed but continues to be lived. Two islands that move through time without losing their identity, still capable today of attracting artists, travellers, architects, international maisons and new forms of hospitality, where memory and contemporaneity coexist in the same Mediterranean light.

ILUXURY AT THE SEA
The Explora II ship by Explora Journeys, the luxury brand of MSC Group’s cruise division, calls at the most exclusive coasts of the Mediterranean.

Minions & Monsters will soon be on the big screen: with Italo, the journey towards the cinema begins on board.

In the new Illumination ilm, the Minions ind themselves in 1920s Hollywood with a simple dream: to become movie stars. To make it happen, they decide to shoot a monster ilm. One small detail: at a certain point, the monsters become real. From there begins an adventure full of surprises, funny creatures and out-ofcontrol situations.

Between one station and the next, adults and children alike can start experiencing the atmosphere of the ilm even before they arrive at the cinema. There is no need to go all the way to Hollywood: this time, the adventure begins on the platform.

SEQUENZA PERFETTA
THE PERFECT SEQUENCE WHY CYCLING IS A MASTERPIECE OF THE BRAIN
Cycling is enjoyable and healthy, but it is also a small mathematical masterpiece of the brain, which transforms balance, strength and coordination into a perfect sequence. The secret lies in procedural memory: a system that, through repetition and the optimisation of movements, minimises error until the action becomes automatic. Once stabilised, these patterns become resistant to time — in short, true neural algorithms.

THE STATISTIC THE LIFT EXPLAINED BY MATHEMATICS
If it seems to you that the lift always takes too long to arrive, the explanation is not psychological but mathematical: it is the “lift paradox”. The probability that the cabin is above or below us is not uniform; on intermediate floors it is more likely to be far away and travelling in the opposite direction, increasing the average waiting time. This effect derives from the statistical distribution of movements and from the way users generate requests. In other words, behind every wait there is a law of probability.

THE DEVIL DRINKS BAROLO THE KING OF ITALIAN WINES GOES TO THE CINEMA
An iconic film production and the “king of Italian wines” come together in a union of elegance. In short:The DevilWears Prada 2 and Barolo. More specifically, Barolo Undicicomuni byArnaldo Rivera, chosen by the film’s creators for its taste, balanced between dedication, respect and harmony.
In this context, the Langhe and their excellences join the symbolic places of fashion, and Barolo establishes itself as one of the keys to entering this universe.Arnaldo Rivera founded the winery in Castiglione Falletto together with around twenty local winegrowers in December 1958. Today, the company represents all 11 municipalities of the Barolo denomination and involves around 300 families of member winegrowers.

A pioneer of digital communication in menswear, Rubinacci combines Neapolitan heritage, craftsmanship, and a modern vision of luxury. We discuss this with Luca, CEO and creative director of the brand
There is one word that often recurs as Luca Rubinacci talks about style, social media, and tailoring: “common sense.” Coming from him, the contemporary face of Maison Rubinacci, one of the leading names in Neapolitan haute tailoring, it sounds almost revolutionary. “Elegance has to be contextualized. You can be elegant in jeans and a T-shirt or in a double-breasted suit. It depends on the context, on the way you live in your clothes.” “Common sense is a way of life that should accompany us in everything we do, not only at work, not only in everyday life, but also in our wardrobe: only then will we avoid illing our closets with useless things.”

With impeccable class yet a surprisingly modern approach, Rubinacci belongs to that generation that understood very early on that luxury could no longer be limited to clothing. It had to become storytelling. “We do not sell to the masses; we speak to a niche audience that seeks quality and garments designed to last over time.” But without nostalgia. Quite the opposite. As early as between 2005 and 2008, when Instagram did not yet exist and social media was still taking its irst steps, Luca Rubinacci sensed the potential of personal, direct communication. “I made myself my own testimonial. The new generation approaches the brand not only because of the product, but because it identiies with a lifestyle.” Today, that mix of impeccable tailoring and spontaneous communication has earned him hundreds of thousands of followers around the world. “I only talk about jackets, ties, and shirts; I do not launt wealth. Those who follow me are genuinely interested in this world.”
And yet, behind the reined aesthetic and international success lies a very concrete philosophy. “The strength of a family brand lies in innovating without betraying tradition.” It is a principle Rubinacci has also applied within the company, focusing on a new generation of artisans. “When I started, our tailors were sixty years old. Today, the average age is around thirty. We had to ensure continuity for true tailoring.”
As for the ideal wardrobe? No excess. “A blue blazer, beige or grey trousers, a white shirt and a light blue one. That is enough to live well.” Because true luxury today is not about appearances. It is about knowing exactly who you are.

This stone fortress among the peaks of Abruzzo has been included by National Geographic among the fifteen most beautiful castles in the world, the only Italian one on the list
ANCIENT AND FASCINATING, set among the peaks of Abruzzo like a hidden jewel waiting to be discovered and admired: Rocca Calascio is a castle suspended at 1,460 metres above sea level, between the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, and has been included by National Geographic among the fifteen most beautiful castles in the world — the only Italian one on the list. Built in the 12th century as a military lookout point, over time it became the property of several noble families and underwent numerous alterations, as well as damage caused by earthquakes. The Rocca, which has also served as a film set, still stands in all its beauty on the rocky ridge, not far from the houses of the village. Reaching it is almost like travelling back in time: it can only be accessed on foot, and to enter the walls one must cross a small wooden bridge. And the breathtaking panorama over the Apennines is wonderful.

THE SQUARE
The Forum of Pompeii, as in all ancient Roman cities, was the main square. It measures 142 metres in length and 38 metres in width.

TEMPLES AND GYMS
Above, the Temple of Apollo, a god worshipped in Roman times and represented as an archer. Below, the Large Palaestra, where the young people of Pompeii gathered to exercise: rectangular in plan, it also features a swimming pool.

Half an hour from Naples, the ancient Roman city is the most fascinating destination in the Vesuvius area. And almost 280 years after its discovery, it continues to write new pages in the great book of the past
Text by Cristina Griner

The Thermopolium, above, was the equivalent of our modern snack bars. The Large Theatre, below, was built on a hillside.
If Naples in the third millennium is an increasingly attractive and international city, one of Italy’s most popular tourist destinations, before the discovery of Pompeii in 1748 no one could truly have imagined the magniicence and scale already reached in Roman times by the inhabited centres of the Vesuvius area. For centuries, they had lain beneath the thick blanket of ash, lava and lapilli that, in just a few hours between 24 and 25 August AD 79, covered the area south of the volcano. One begins to grasp this by visiting the
MANN — NationalArchaeological Museum, oneofthejewelsoftheNeapolitan capital, wherealargemodel, inaugurated in 1879 and expanded over time, reproduces Pompeii’s urban layout and individual buildings with millimetric precision on a scale of 1:100. Recreating the atmosphere of daily life are the reined bronzes, marbles and terracottas displayed in the rooms devoted to sculpture and domestic furnishings, a vast quantity of tools and pottery, and the extraordinary collection of frescoes from the site.
From Napoli Centrale, the fastest way

to reach Pompeii is by bus, with Itabus departing from Metropark and arriving in 45 minutes at the “Pompei Scavi Villa dei Misteri” stop. Opposite are the main entrance to the archaeological site, Porta Marina, and the Antiquarium, a museum space inaugurated in 2021 that retraces the history of Pompeii through its most signiicant inds. These include the frescoes from the House of the Golden Bracelet, the silverware of Moregine, the triclinium of the House of Menander, fragments of stucco from the House of Orion and the treasure of amulets from the House with Garden.
From here, it takes only a few steps to ind oneself in the heart of the ancient Roman city, between the Basilica, with the nearbyTemple ofApollo, and the Forum. The excavation area is so vast that, as early as 1858, archaeologists were forced to divide it into Regiones, or districts, and Insulae, or blocks.Today there are nine Regiones, and they continue to reveal wonders, adding further pieces to the story of everyday life at the time. trance bearing the words “cave canem” — beware of the dog — and follow Via Consolare and Via dei Sepolcri as far as the Villa of the Mysteries, outside the city walls, with its frescoes depicting mystery rites in honour of Dionysus. At the centre of the site stands the lupanar, a two-storey building used for prostitution, where images of erotic scenes decorate the ground-loor corridors in a kind of “catalogue” of services. Not far away, the House of the Wounded Bear is also worth a visit: at the far end of its small courtyard is a colourful nymphaeum with a mosaic fountain showing Venus inside a shell and a seabed with ish of every kind.
Two great thoroughfares cross the entire site: Via Stabiana and the lower decumanus. Via Stabiana, running north to south, connects Porta Vesuvio with the theatre district, including the Small Theatre, the Large Theatre, the Triangular Forum and the Quadriporticus of the Theatres. In the upper part stands the House of the Golden Cupids, a magnificent example of an imperial residence with a beautifully kept garden, and, a short distance away, the House of Leda and the Swan. Discovered more recently, it takes its name from the reined fresco depicting the union between Jupiter, transformed into a swan, and Leda, wife of Tyndareus, king of Sparta. The lower decumanus, or Via dell’Abbondanza, instead begins at the Forum and seems never to end. Along it stand

Following the street to its end brings you near Regio II, with the large gardens of the urban villa of Julia Felix, the rows of vines of the Forum Boarium and the square of the Large Palaestra, at the centre of which lies a vast swimming pool. Its porticoes are now one of the main exhibition spaces of the Archaeological Park.

At the exit from the Palaestra stands the majestic Amphitheatre, the oldest in the Roman world, which could hold up to 20,000 spectators.
THE VILLAGE IN THE MIDDLE
Praiano is perched on a promontory halfway between Amalfi and Positano: among the must-see beaches here is La Gavitella.

Pura magia.

Continuing towards Punta Campanella, the watershed between the gulfs of Salerno and Naples, beaches accessible only by sea appear one after another. TERRITORIO

Areined and evocative destination in an enchanting location
Among the narrow streets and the sea of Ortigia, an enchanting district and the oldest part of the city of Syracuse, in the city’s ancient and picturesque historic centre, stands an exclusive boutique hotel housed in a 17th-century palazzo with a typical limestone façade. Inside, it is home to the Michelinstarred restaurant Cortile Spirito Santo, whose gastronomic offering is signed by chef Giuseppe Torrisi, who currently presents three new tasting menus interpreting the island. Both were created with the aim of establishing a place where hospitality, culture and haute cuisine could meet, and they continue to offer an authentic and reined experience in the heart of Sicily. The palazzo, carefully restored with a conservative approach, stands just a few steps from the Church of the Holy Spirit, Maniace Castle and Piazza Duomo, in one of Sicily’s most evocative historic settings.
The property features 13 rooms and suites, designed with an essential aesthetic language in which the colours of Syracuse stone interact with natural materials and design details. The guest experience is enriched by exclusive spaces such as the solarium and a small private beach located just a few metres from the hotel.

To savor the specialties of traditional Emilian cuisine — and more — in the atmosphere of an ancient dairy where, for over 200 years and until the 1990s, the king of cheeses was produced: Parmigiano Reggiano. We are talking about L’Antico Caseiicio, the restaurant inside Relais de Charme Tabiano Castello, located 40 minutes from Parma and 3 km from Salsomaggiore Terme. Today, it offers guests a wonderful panoramic terrace in summer and the warmth of terracotta stoves in winter. The menu is curated by the youngAndrej, a graduate of theALMAculinary school in Parma, and focuses on produce from the nearby zero-kilometer vegetable garden: tonnarelli with artichokes, pumpkin ravioli, eggplant Parmigiana, as well as tortelli with duck sauce, spaghetti alla chitarra dressed with prized Culatello di Zibello, stuffed guinea fowl, and braised meat with polenta are just some of the dishes to be enjoyed within these walls. The setting has preserved the authentic character of the old dairy, with its blue majolica tiles and large windows; several large-format images illustrate the key stages in the production of Parmigiano. In the room leading to the restaurant, an entire wall is dedicated to a wide selection of wines and liqueurs. The restaurant and the albergo diffuso — complete with a spa and conference center — are located at the foot of Tabiano Castle, a thousand-year-old fortress now open to visitors.

E L’ESPRESSIONE CRISTALLINA
THE EASTERN FRONTIER AND FRIULI EXPRESSION

On the Novali hills in Cormòns, near the Slovenian border, Franco Toros produces outstanding Friulian white wines, thanks to soils of marl and sandstone that lend richness to the palate. The Sauvignon evokes theAlps, with aromas of sage, elderlower and lint. On the palate it is taut, vertical and mineral, with a long, fresh inish. Perfect with scallop ceviche or herb risotto.
DO YOU KNOW?
In Mesopotamia, wine was a rare luxury, a status symbol reserved for kings and central to offerings made to the gods.
There are wines that follow the rules, and wines that rewrite them. In the heart of Chianti Classico, in Radda, Sergio Manetti had an idea in the 1970s that was as simple as it was revolutionary: to believe wholeheartedly in pure Sangiovese. This idea led him to step outside the rigid production regulations of the time and create Le Pergole Torte, the irst label to show the world the absolute elegance of this grape variety without the addition of other grapes. Today, the winery carries on this legacy with artisanal rigor. Instantly recognizable for its iconic artistdesigned labels by Alberto Manfredi, depicting ever-changing female faces, this wine is a masterpiece of inesse. In the glass, it reveals itself slowly, unveiling the elegant nature of a noble grape variety in all its mantle of red-hued nuances. From tart blueberry to the unripe berry of a spring strawberry: a vibrant, direct and fresh sip that conceals its complexity, revealing it to more experienced consumers while enchanting newcomers. Perfect for an elegant dinner, it brings out the very best in noble game, such as roast pigeon with a red-fruit reduction or a reined wood-pigeon risotto.

A UNIQUE COLLABORATION
The Royal Pop watches are inspired by Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak collection, launched in 1972, and by the Swatch POP watches of the 1980s.
Incredible queues around the world accompanied the launch of the highly anticipated pocket watch collection by Audemars Piguet and Swatch, inspired by Pop Art. Eight models ready to rewrite the rules of watchmaking
EXTRAORDINARY ANTICIPATION and extremely long queues, lasting even more than 24 hours, accompanied the launch, on 16 May, of Royal Pop, the collection by Audemars Piguet and Swatch. Rome, Milan, but also London, Osaka, NewYork and Singapore: in short, Swatchmania struck everywhere and became a global phenomenon.
This pocket watch is a tribute to Audemars Piguet’s iconic Royal Oak and draws inspiration from the Swatch POP watches of the 1980s and from Pop Art in general. The result is a revolutionary model ready to rewrite the rules of watchmaking: it breaks free from the wrist and, thanks to a high-quality calfskin cord, can be worn in unexpected, playful and dynamic ways.
The collection of eight Bioceramic models is powered by the innovative SISTEM51 movement and, in addition to the various colours, has been presented in two different versions: a Lépine-style pocket watch and a Savonnette-style pocket watch.

Spring/summer dresses rewrite the language of elegance through shapes that break free from rigidity to embrace a new idea of femininity: soft and essential. Silhouettes lengthen and take shape through airy volumes that follow the body naturally. Every gesture becomes a spontaneous expression of style.
Silk, organza, chiffon, linen: light textures loat and dress the body, redeining the relationship between fabric and movement in a dialogue of presence and harmony.Asophisticated, free-spirited attitude, where draping and transparencies play with the light, creating subtle balances. Surfaces vibrate, overlap, and glow with delicate relections, like narrative fragments of light. Colour, too, accompanies this vision: natural nuances, powdery tones, delicate greens, and luminous shades create a harmonious palette.Afashion that follows the rhythm of the body and enhances its movement, transforming lightness into a reined language. An open invitation to embark on a journey into beauty.

The most glamorous remise en forme is a holistic ritual that transforms self-care into a moment of pure pleasure, far from stress and the false myths of perfection. The goal? To enhance skin quality, tissue firmness, and spread a feeling of total well-being. It all begins with the scrub: a blend of marine micro-granules and fruit acids that leaves the skin texture smooth and toned, removing dead cells and preparing the epidermis to receive the following treatments, enhancing their effectiveness. For a targeted toning and reducing action on the stomach, legs, and arms, the formulas focus on complexes rich in pure caffeine — known for its effect on microcirculation — which, in synergy with other active ingredients, stimulate lipid metabolism.

For ultra-light legs, green light to Escin and CentellaAsiatica extracts, ideal for strengthening capillaries and draining excess fluids. Cellulite treatment then evolves thanks to collagenase enzymes and soothing plant-based active ingredients, capable of visibly smoothing the “orange peel” effect. Finally, for stretch marks, the key word is elasticity: formulas rich in Vitamin E and plant oils with antioxidant and nourishing properties are essential for regenerating the dermis.A routine that goes beyond aesthetics, becoming a profound act of respect for one’s physical and mental health.

THE SERIES REMAKE
Cape Fear lands onApple TV+ on 5 June: Martin Scorsese’s cult film, itself a remake of a 1962 classic, becomes a thriller series starring Javier Bardem as the vengeful Max Cady, alongsideAmyAdams and Patrick Wilson.

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE HE-MAN, THE SWORD AND THE CINEMA RELEASE
Between Mattel toys worn out on the living-room floor, afternoons spent watching cartoons and liberating cries of “By the power of Grayskull!”, the Eighties return to the big screen. From 4 June, Masters of the Universe, the new live-action film directed by Travis Knight, arrives in Italian cinemas. It is an operation aimed straight at the nostalgic heart of a generation that grew up with He-Man, Skeletor and the improbable muscles of Mattel figures that became a worldwide pop cult.
Taking up the legacy of PrinceAdam is Nicholas Galitzine, starring alongside Camila Mendes, Idris Elba and a skeletal Jared Leto as Skeletor. The cast also includesAlison Brie, Morena Baccarin, James Purefoy and Charlotte Riley. The story bringsAdam back to Eternia after a fifteen-year absence: the planet has fallen under Skeletor’s rule and the hero will have to accept his destiny in order to save his family and kingdom. In other words: giant swords, fantasy battles and that Saturday-morning-in-front-of-the-TV feeling, scented with VHS tapes, snacks and Eighties imagination.
DISCLOSURE DAY SPIELBERG REINTERPRETA ANCORA LA FANTASCIENZA
SPIELBERG REINTERPRETS SCIENCE FICTION ONCE AGAIN
Among the names that forever changed the way science fiction is told in cinema, Steven Spielberg stands at the forefront. Close Encounters of the Third Kind laid the foundations for a new way of relating to the alien — knowledge rather than confrontation; E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial brought the fantastic into a generational and personal narrative. From the Nineties onwards, Spielberg has found ever-new ways of engaging with the genre, and now Disclosure Day arrives on 10 June, shrouded in mystery — which has always been the secret weapon of his deeply human and popular cinema.

Signal” suona dritto, senza fronzoli così come apprezzato sin dal primo singolo, “Be With You”, che viaggia tra rock bruciante e sperimentazione elettronica. Warner Music
THE WOW! SIGNAL, THE BAND’S “INTERSTELLAR” RETURN
Always attentive to cultural trends and the evolution of genres, Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenholme return with a musically powerful album. Now famous for their maximalist rock, which evolves with the times while remaining unmistakably Muse, The WOW! Signal also sounds direct and unadorned, as already appreciated from the first single, Be With You, which moves between scorching rock and electronic experimentation. The single was only the first taste of The WOW! Signal, an album that takes its name from one of the most fascinating interstellar mysteries of the last century: a powerful 72-second radio pulse detected in 1977, coming from the constellation Sagittarius. The astronomer who discovered the anomaly circled the now-iconic sequence “6EQUJ5” and wrote “WOW!”.And with the same sense of wonder with which the astronomer noted that expression, Muse, with their new album, also aim to amaze, translating into music a world of cosmic mystery, existential hope and the thrilling possibility of coming into contact with something far greater than ourselves.

THE TIME OF EXCELLENCE, ALWAYS IN POLE POSITION
There is no Formula 1 World Championship without Tudor. The Swiss watchmaker’s passion for motorsport as a whole dates back to the 1960s, and in 2026 it is renewed with the Black Bay Chrono “Carbon 26”, the model that pays tribute to the single-seater of the Visa CashApp Racing Bulls team.

The chronograph embodies Tudor’s relentless pursuit of exceptional mechanical performance. It all starts with carbon fibre, an ideal material — given its reduced weight — for a racing chronograph that measures speed with extreme precision thanks to the Manufacture Calibre MT5813 and the bezel with tachymetric scale. From an aesthetic point of view, the Black Bay Chrono “Carbon 26” — produced in a limited edition of 2,026 pieces — pays homage to the VCARB 03: the vibrant yellow that characterises the engine cover is echoed on the dial, giving the watch a distinctly sporty character.

SOME PEOPLE IN CAPRI believe that casual fashion was born between the Piazzetta and Via Camerelle, and that is partly true. But Saint-Tropez couldclaimmuchthesame, moreorlessinthesameyears, eventhoughits “reference diva,” Brigitte Bardot, starred in one of her most accomplished ilms precisely in Capri, at Villa Malaparte. Capri, however, embodied what, since the early twentieth century, has been deined as “holiday fashion”: an idea of freedom and lightness in dress that, even today, with the island suffocated by designer labels, is identiied throughout the world with a few essential garments and accessories: “isherman-style” cropped trousers, sandals known—aptly—as “Capri sandals,” colorful shirts of varying cuts but always with great aesthetic impact, and the use of straw for inimitable hats. None of this would ever have existed without the contributionofafabric—bothrealandsymbolic—wovenbywomenentrepreneurs, craftswomen, seamstresses, knitters, eccentric aristocrats, and intellectuals with a taste for aesthetic disruption. Nor would it have lourished without the historical legacy of many different dominations and interests surrounding the opportunities offered by the island for the cultivation of lax, hemp, and broom, and for silkworm farming. The “weavers of the island”weretheexpressionofasigniicanteconomyandofaspeciic, special taste long before Clarette Gallotti arrived after the Second World War as a supplier of fabrics to Emilio Pucci, as well as an entrepreneur in her own right. Between the 1910s and the 1920s, there was in fact Euphrosine “Ephy” Lovatelli, who may be credited not only with reviving the peplos and the himation, much like her near-contemporary Mariano Fortuny, but alsowithinventingtheso-called“Caprisandal.”TherewasalsoMariuccia Di Fiore of La Parisienne, the irst igure in a female entrepreneurial story that has continued for 120 years, enriched by creations developed through spontaneous “collabs” with style geniuses such as Madina Arrivabene— the ultra-sexy “musketeer-style” shirt, with puffed sleeves but cropped at the waist—or Jackie Kennedy, for the perfect cut of the trousers.
