TRA MARE E CULTURA TANTI LUOGHI DA SCOPRIRE SU QUESTO NUMERO

LA CURIOSITÀ FA PARTE DEL VIAGGIO, è il bello dello scoprire luoghi nuovi e anche antiche tradizioni. L’Italia è piena di luoghi magnifici, natura e storia spesso si fondono per consentire al viaggiatore di immergersi in panorami mozzafiato e luoghi che raccontano civiltà e mondi che ci hanno portato ad essere quelli che siamo oggi. Italo Magazine ogni mese vuole portarvi a scoprire questi luoghi, magari con punti di vista diversi da quelli che tradizionalmente siamo abituati a considerare. Questo mese Enjoy the Moment è dedicato alle aree marine protette della nostra Penisola. Zone dei bellissimi nostri mari che sono state difese e conservate ma che, alcune, sono anche visitabili. Uno sguardo attento verso una natura che deve restare incontaminata e che deve essere preservata, come dovrebbe essere comunque tutto quello che ci circonda. Basta poco per non deturpare le bellezze del nostro Pianeta, a partire da piccoli gesti di rispetto che dovrebbero essere la normalità di tutti. Ma ci sono altre mete dove vi porta Italo Magazine questo mese. Il mare e le spiagge di Maratea ma anche alla scoperta di una località incastonata su una delle più belle coste del Tirreno con i suoi vicoli storici dove perdersi alla ricerca di locali e vecchi negozi. Per chi preferisce la montagna ma non disdegna anche la città l’altra meta principale di questo numero è Trento con il suo Monte Bondone, una “terrazza” sulla bellissima città dove fare sport o semplici passeggiate. Perfettamente e velocemente collegato al centro del capoluogo, questa meta è perfetta per un turismo tra cultura, magari visitando il Castello del Buonconsiglio ricco di affreschi tardomedievali, e tempo da passare all’aria aperta. L’isola di Bergeggi fa parte dell’omonima area marina protetta, in Liguria. È situata a meno di 300 metri dalla costa e ospita resti di edifici militari e religiosi di epoche diverse.

il racconto in prima persona della loro esperienza con Itabus

Ci sono viaggi che ti aspetti e viaggi che ti sorprendono. Questo, con Itabus, rientra decisamente nella seconda categoria.

Io ed il mio ragazzo Giordano siamo partiti alle 22:20 da Milano Lampugnano con una meta bellissima davanti a noi: Parigi. Ma non è tanto la destinazione ad avermi conquistata, quanto il viaggio stesso. Perché sì, era la prima volta che affrontavo una tratta così lunga in autobus di notte, e non sapevo bene cosa aspettarmi. Spoiler: mi sono trovata benissimo, molto meglio di quanto immaginassi.

Appena saliti sul bus, la prima cosa che mi ha colpita è stata l’atmosfera. Luci soffuse, silenzio, quella sensazione di essere già un po’ in viaggio verso qualcos’altro. Avevamo prenotato l’area Top e devo dire che lo spazio a disposizione mi ha davvero sorpresa: non me lo aspettavo così ampio quando sono salita. I sedili poi sono un capitolo a parte: reclinabili, morbidissimi, con il poggia gambe. Sembravano veramente delle poltrone di casa, altro che sedile da bus. C’erano anche le prese per il telefono e il Wi-Fi, quindi zero pensieri da quel punto di vista. Per il primo tratto io e Giordano siamo rimasti svegli apposta, perché volevamo goderci il passaggio delle Alpi. Abbiamo chiacchierato un po’, ci siamo guardati una puntata di una serie insieme, e nel frattempo il bus ha fatto la prima tappa a Torino, dove le luci della città viste di notte erano davvero magiche. Poi siamo entrati nel tratto alpino e lì il cielo si è aperto su uno spettacolo di stelle che non dimenticherò facilmente: nemmeno una nuvola, un cielo stellato che sembrava disegnato apposta. Onestamente in quel momento mi sembrava di essere dentro un film, una di quelle scene un po’ surreali in cui ti senti la protagonista del racconto. Dopo un po’, però, il sonno ha vinto su tutto. Siamo crollati entrambi e ci siamo svegliati praticamente già in Francia.

Thanks to its partnership with Enilive, the entire fleet now runs on HVOlution, a diesel biofuel made entirely from renewable raw materials. Produced at Enilive’s biorefineries in Venice and Gela, mainly from waste and residues such as used cooking oil, animal fats and by-products from the agri-food industry, HVOlution contributes to the decarbonisation of transport, including heavy-duty transport. In 2025, the average reduction in CO฀-equivalent emissions achieved by Enilive HVO for transport use was 79.5% compared with the reference fossil-fuel mix.With this choice, Itabus is extending its green revolution beyond Italy’s borders to the international routes served by its fleet. Alle 10:30 del mattino dopo, quasi senza accorgercene, eravamo arrivati a Parigi. Da lì in poi sono iniziati giorni bellissimi. Abbiamo visitato la Torre Eiffel, ci siamo seduti nei classici caffè parigini a guardare la gente passare, abbiamo girato tra musei e camminato lungo la Senna, che devo dire è stato un momento super romantico. Abbiamo anche rivisto Notre Dame, finalmente restaurata dopo il terribile incendio di qualche anno fa, ed è stata un’emozione vederla di nuovo così nel suo splendore.

Se dovessi riassumere questa esperienza in poche parole: la rifarei senza pensarci due volte. Per la comodità dei sedili e dell’area Top, per il fatto di viaggiare di notte e ritrovarsi la mattina già a destinazione senza nemmeno accorgersene del tempo passato, e infine per il prezzo, che è davvero competitivo rispetto a quello che si trova in giro.

Vi saluto da Parigi, con un pain au chocolat in mano e la sensazione di essere un po’ anche io, per qualche giorno, Emily in Paris.

FROM MILAN TO PARIS BY COACH

Giulia and Giordano’s overnight journey: a first-person account of their experience with Itabus

Some journeys are exactly what you expect, while others surprise you. This trip with Itabus deinitely belongs to the second category.

My boyfriend Giordano and I left Milan Lampugnano at 10:20 p.m., with a wonderful destination ahead of us: Paris. Yet it was not so much the destination that won me over as the journey itself. It was my irst time travelling such a long distance by coach at night, and I was not quite sure what to expect. Spoiler alert: I had a fantastic experience— far better than I had imagined.

As soon as we boarded, the irst thing that struck me was the atmosphere. Soft lighting, silence and that feeling of already being on your way towards something new. We had booked seats in the Top area, and I must say that the amount of space really surprised me: I had not expected it to be so generous. The seats deserve a special mention too: reclining, extremely comfortable and equipped with leg rests. They genuinely felt like armchairs at home, rather than coach seats. There were also power sockets for our phones

and Wi-Fi, so there was nothing to worry about on that front.

Giordano and I deliberately stayed awake for the first part of the journey because we wanted to enjoy the crossing through the Alps. We chatted for a whileandwatchedanepisodeofaseriestogether.In the meantime, the coach made its first stop in Turin, where the city lights at night looked truly magical. Then we entered the Alpine section of the route, and the sky opened up to reveal an unforgettable display of stars. There was not a cloud in sight, and the night sky looked as though it had been drawn especially for us. Honestly, at that moment I felt as though I were in a film—one of those slightly surreal scenes in which you feel like the main character in the story.

After a while, however, sleep took over. We both drifted off and woke up when we were practically already in France.

The coach made a second stop in Lyon, but I have

to be honest: I was sleeping so deeply that I did not notice it at all. That says a great deal about how quiet the coach is and how professional the drivers are, managing stops and driver changes without disturbing sleeping passengers.

At 10:30 the following morning, almost without realising it, we had arrived in Paris. From that

moment on, we enjoyed some wonderful days. We visited the Eiffel Tower, sat in classic Parisian cafés watching people go by, explored museums and walked along the Seine, which I have to say was incredibly romantic.

We also saw Notre-Dame again, inally restored after the terrible ire a few years ago. Seeing it once more in all its splendour was deeply moving. Were I to sum up the experience in just a few words, I would say that I would do it again without a second thought. The seats and the Top area were extremely comfortable; travelling overnight meant waking up already at our destination without even noticing how much time had passed; and inally, the price was highly competitive compared with other options currently available.

Greetings from Paris, with a pain au chocolat in my hand and the feeling that, for a few days at least, I too am a little like Emily in Paris.

n Italia sono 30 le aree marine protette. Istituite con decreto ministeriale, coprono l’Italia quasi per intero da Nord a Sud, da Liguria e Friuli-Venezia Giulia fino alle due isole maggiori. E tutelano complessivamente circa 711 km di costa e 231.000 ettari di mare. Le aree scelte presentano un interesse rilevante per le caratteristiche naturali, geomorfologiche, fisiche, biochimiche con particolare riguardo alla flora e alla fauna e per l’importanza scientifica, ecologica, culturale, educativa ed economica che rivestono. Questo si legge sul sito del Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Sicurezza Energetica.

Abbiamo selezionato dieci aree marine protette, tutte visitabili in quest’ultima parte d’estate (elenco completo su mase.gov.it/portale/aree-marine-istituite), quando le mete balneari sono prese d’assalto. Le aree marine protette possono invece rappresentare un’occasione per evitare la folla di bagnanti e immergersi nella natura e in acque cristalline e tranquille.

Partiamo dall’isola di Bergeggi, situata a circa 300 metri dalla riviera ligure, in provincia di Savona. Qui sono conservati resti di edifici militari e religiosi risalenti a epoche differenti. La costa custodisce uno scrigno di piccole spiagge incastonate tra le rocce, considerate tra le più belle della Liguria come la spiaggia del Lido delle Sirene e la “pocket beach” dei Predani. Acque cristalline, ideali per praticare immersioni, snorkeling, ma anche nuoto, vela, windsurf, canoa, pesca, escursioni e non solo. E in prossimità della falesia di Punta delle Grotte, ecco la bellissima Grotta Marina, importante sia per i reperti archeologici ritrovati che per lo studio dei cambiamenti dei livelli del mare nel corso delle varie epoche. Da un’isola a un’altra, anzi due. Ventotene e Santo Stefano, piccole perle dell’arcipelago Pontino, nel Tirreno al largo della costa laziale. Un tempo terre di confino, esilio e carceri, oggi costituiscono un’area marina protetta dove è possibile svolgere diverse attivi-

tà. Tanti i siti di immersione, tutti raggiungibili e percorribili grazie alle guide locali. Tra Cala Nave, la peschiera Romana e la base della scogliera di Punta Eolo si può praticare lo snorkeling, mentre sono consentite le escursioni in barca lungo il perimetro costiero di Ventotene e verso Santo Stefano. E a terra una serie di percorsi consente di fare trekking o camminate per scoprire la bellezza del paesaggio, della flora e della fauna di queste isole. Nel XVI secolo i Saraceni costituivano un grande pericolo per le coste adriatiche, fino in Abruzzo. Per questo motivo, il Regno di Napoli fece realizzare una serie di torri di avvistamento, tra cui la Torre Cerrano, tra Silvi e Pineto, in provincia di Teramo. In questo tratto di costa è stata istituita un’area marina protetta che porta il nome della fortezza, visitabile tutti i giorni nel periodo estivo insieme al Museo del Mare. Le acque del litorale presentano due tipologie ambientali: da un lato i tipici fondali sabbiosi adriatici e dall’altro alcune parti di scogliere di fondo, come quelle dell’antico porto di Atri, dove è possibile praticare snorkeling con le guide tutti i venerdì in estate a partire dalle 18. Stesso giorno e stessa ora per la passeggiata naturalistica e per l’aperitivo culturale con visita

guidata alla Torre. Il lunedì è dedicato ai laboratori didattici per bambini, mentre nelle domeniche di agosto previsti concerti all’alba sulla terrazza della fortezza.

Come Torre Cerrano, anche Torre Guaceto, in Puglia, venne costruita per difendere la costa adriatica dai Saraceni. Oggi quest’area è un luogo davvero speciale: 3300 ettari tra riserva marina e terrestre per un tratto di costa di 8 km che ricade nei territori di Carovigno e Brindisi. Oltre alla torre “a base quadrata vicereale”, ovviamente visitabile, l’area gode di una serie di ambienti diversi, ma interconnessi, protetti e aperti a chiunque voglia ammirarli. Uliveti, campi coltivati, macchia mediterranea, le dune di spiagge e calette incontaminate e un mare cristallino compongono un mosaico che affascina anche grandi registi, da ultimo Mel Gibson che qui ha girato “The Resurrection of the Christ”. E per i turisti è come stare in paradiso: oltre a fare il bagno nelle zone consentite, è possibile praticare snorkeling, trekking, degustare i prodotti del Parco o semplicemente immergersi nella natura della Riserva, non solo in estate ma 365 giorni l’anno. Questo grazie all’impegno del Consorzio di Gestione di Torre Guaceto. Dalla Puglia al Cilento dove si estende, dalla Torre dello Zancale, a Marina di Camerota, fino a Scario, nel Golfo di Policastro, l’area marina protetta Costa degli Infreschi e della Masseta. Mare incontaminato, grotte sottomarine, colline di cedro e ulivi da attraversare lungo antiche mulattiere: per il

visitatore qui c’è l’imbarazzo della scelta sui luoghi da ammirare. Solo per citarne alcuni: la Grotta Azzurra, la Grotta del Noglio, la Grotta degli Infreschi, la Piscina degli Iscolelli, la Sorgente di Santa Caterina, la Cappella di San Lazzaro, le spiaggette della Masseta e l’orto botanico naturale del Marcellino.

Spingendoci più a Sud, l’area marina protetta di Capo Rizzuto è l’unica della Calabria. Ben 42 km di costa dove si susseguono piccole insenature e le acque conservano sui propri fondali un ricco patrimonio archeologico, visitabile attraverso specifici percorsi subacquei. Per chi non è esperto di immersioni, c’è Pelagos - Museo del Mare: presso Le Castella si può esplorare un sito archeologico sommerso a 360 gradi grazie alla realtà virtuale. Tra le attività consentite anche la pesca turismo: quando il mare lo consente, si parte alle 7 del mattino dal porto peschereccio di Le Castella per pescare con i pescatori professionisti. E infine la riserva nella riserva: a Capo Rizzuto, nella piazza del Santuario della Madonna Greca, c’è l’acquario, una struttura composta da 22 vasche dove sono stati ricreati gli habitat marini dell’area protetta. Nelle due isole maggiori sono concentrate la maggior parte di aree marine protette: ben 14 su 30, equamente distribuite tra Sardegna e Sicilia. In quest’ultima l’area di Capo Milazzo, nel Tirreno, è un vero e proprio paradiso naturale con oltre 15 percorsi d’immersione. Il promontorio offre anche l’opportunità di percorrere sentieri naturalistici di rara bellezza, come quello che conduce alla Piscina di Venere o il percorso della Fondazione Lucifero a ponente, mentre a levante c’è “u nfennu e Paradisu” a strapiombo sul mare. L’area marina protetta Isole Pelagie è la più a sud d’Italia e si divide in diversi settori: Lampedusa, Linosa e l’isolotto di

Lampione. Mentre Lampedusa è caratterizzata da piattaforme calcaree, Linosa si presenta con uno spettacolare paesaggio vulcanico. Questa diversità genera habitat costieri e sottomarini differenti, insomma un vero e proprio hotspot di biodiversità nel Mediterraneo. Senza dimenticare spiagge da sogno, inserite puntualmente nelle guide come tra le più belle al mondo. Lì dove sorgeva un carcere di massima sicurezza, oggi c’è un’area marina protetta tra le più belle della Sardegna. È il caso dell’isola dell’Asinara che si presenta ripida e rocciosa sulla costa occidentale, quasi totalmente inaccessibile dal mare, e bassa sul lato orientale, con spiagge a Fornelli, Sant’Andrea, La Reale, Trabuccato, Punta Sabina e Cala Arena. Numerose le attività che si possono svolgere: visite guidate a piedi o con fuoristrada e minivan o con trenino, pesca turismo, visite guidate subacquee. Diversi anche i sentieri naturalistici, ma è sconsigliato percorrerli in estate per via del gran caldo. Dal nord-ovest della Sardegna al settore sud-est, dove si trova l’area marina protetta di Capo Carbonara. Una sorta di istmo con al centro la zona umida dello stagno di Notteri circondato da una costa tra le più varie e affascinanti del Mediterraneo. Tante le spiagge che puntellano il territorio, affascinanti quanto diverse tra loro. Giusto per fare qualche nome: Porto Sa Ruxi, Campus, Campulongu, Fortezza Vecchia, Cava Usai, Porto Giunco, Simius, Punta is Molentis. Bellezze uniche e per fortuna tutelate, come tante altre del nostro splendido Paese.

Thereare30oftheminItaly.Establishedbyministerial decree, the country’s marine protected areas stretch almost the entire length of Italy, from north to south, from Liguria and Friuli-Venezia Giulia to the two major islands.Altogether, they protect around 711 kilometres of coastline and 231,000 hectares of sea.

We have selected ten marine protected areas, all of them open to visitors in this final stretch of summer (full list at mase. gov.it/portale/aree-marine-istituite), when seaside destinations are usually crowded. Marine protected areas, by contrast, can offer the chance to avoid the throngs of beachgoers and immerse yourself in nature, surrounded by crystal-clear, peaceful waters.

Let us begin with the island of Bergeggi, located around 300 metres off the Ligurian Riviera, in the province of Savona. Here, remains of military and religious buildings from different periods have been preserved. The coastline holds a treasure chest of small beaches set among the rocks, considered among the loveliest in Liguria, such as Lido delle Sirene beach and the Predani pocket beach. The crystalline waters are ideal for diving and snorkelling, as well as swimming, sailing, windsuring, canoeing, ishing, excursions and more. Near the cliff of Punta delle Grotte lies the beautiful Sea Cave, importantbothforthearchaeologicalindsdiscoveredthereandforthe study of changes in sea levels over the centuries.

From one island to another — in fact, two. Ventotene and Santo Stefano, two small gems of the Pontine archipelago in theTyrrhenian Sea off the coast of Lazio. Once lands of coninement, exile and prisons, they now form a marine protected area where a variety of activities can be enjoyed.There are many diving sites, all accessible with the help of local diving centres. Between Cala Nave, the Roman ishpond and the base of the Punta Eolo cliff, visitors can go snorkelling, while boat excursions are permitted around the coastal perimeter of Ventotene and towards Santo Stefano. On land, a network of paths makes it possible to go trekking or walking and discover the beauty of the landscape, lora and fauna of these islands.

Inthe16thcentury,theSaracensposedamajorthreattotheAdriatic coast,asfarasAbruzzo.Forthisreason,theKingdomofNapleshad aseriesofwatchtowersbuilt,includingTorreCerrano,betweenSilvi andPinetointheprovinceofTeramo.Alongthisstretchofcoastline, amarineprotectedareahasbeenestablishedbearingthenameofthe fortress,whichcanbevisitedeverydayinsummertogetherwiththe Sea Museum. Like Torre Cerrano, Torre Guaceto in Puglia was also built to defend the Adriatic coast against Saracen incursions. Today, this area is truly special: 3,300 hectares of marine and land reserve stretching along 8 kilometres of coastlinewithintheterritoriesofCarovignoandBrindisi. Alongside the “square-based viceregal tower”, which can of course be visited, the area encompasses a series of different yet interconnected environments, all protected and open to anyone wishing to admire them. For tourists, it is like being in paradise: as well as swimming in the designated areas, visitors can go snorkelling, trekking, taste the Park’s produce, or simply immerse themselves in the Reserve’s natural beauty, not only in summer but 365 days a year. This is thanks to the commitment of the Torre Guaceto Management Consortium.

From Puglia we move to Cilento, where the Costa degli Infreschi e della Masseta marine protected area stretches from Torre dello Zancale in Marina di Camerota to Scario in the Gulf of Policastro. Unspoilt sea, underwater caves, hills of cedar and olive trees to be crossed along ancient mule tracks: for visitors, the choice of places to admire is almost overwhelming.To mention just a few: Grotta Azzurra, Grotta del Noglio, Grotta degli Infreschi, Piscina degli Iscolelli, the Santa Caterina spring, the Chapel of San Lazzaro, the little beaches of Masseta and the natural botanical garden of Marcellino.

Moving further south, the marine protected area of Capo Rizzuto is the only one in Calabria. It boasts no fewer than 42 kilometres of coastline, with a succession of small coves, while its seabed preserves a rich archaeological heritage that can be visited through dedicated underwater routes. For those who are

not experienced divers, there is Pelagos – Sea Museum: at Le Castella,itispossibletoexploreasubmergedarchaeologicalsite in 360 degrees thanks to virtual reality. Among the permitted activities is also fishing tourism: when sea conditions allow, departures take place at 7 in the morning from the fishing harbour of Le Castella to fish alongside professional fishermen. And finally, there is a reserve within the reserve: at Capo Rizzuto, in the square of the Sanctuary of the Madonna Greca, stands the aquarium, a facility made up of 22 tanks recreating the marine habitats of the protected area.

Most of Italy’s marine protected areas are concentrated in the two major islands: 14 out of 30, evenly divided between Sardinia and Sicily. In Sicily, the Capo Milazzo area on the Tyrrhenian Sea is a true natural paradise, with more than 15 diving routes. The promontory also offers the opportunity to follow natural trails of rare beauty, such as the one leading to Piscina di Venere, or the Fondazione Lucifero path on the western side, while on the eastern side lies u nfennu e Paradisu, dramatically perched above the sea.

The Isole Pelagie marine protected area is the southernmost in Italy and is divided into several sectors: Lampedusa, Linosa and the islet of Lampione. While Lampedusa is characterised by limestone plateaus, Linosa presents a spectacular volcanic landscape. This diversity creates different coastal and underwater habitats — in short, a true biodiversity hotspot in the Mediterranean. And of course, there are dream beaches, consistently featured in guidebooks among the most beautiful in the world. Where once there stood a maximum-security prison, today there is one of the most beautiful marine protected areas in Sardinia. This is the case ofAsinara Island, steep and rocky on its western coast, almost entirely inaccessible from the sea, and low-lying on the eastern side, with beaches at Fornelli, Sant’Andrea, La Reale, Trabuccato, Punta Sabina and CalaArena. Numerous activities are available: guided walks, excursions by 4x4, minivan or little tourist train, fishing tourism and guided diving tours. There are also several nature trails, although walking them in summer is not recommended because of the intense heat. From north-western Sardinia we move to the south-eastern sector, home to the Capo Carbonara marine protected area. It is a kind of isthmus with the Notteri pond wetland at its centre, surrounded by one of the most varied and fascinating coastlines in the Mediterranean. Countless beaches dot the area, as enchanting as they are diverse. To name just a few: Porto Sa Ruxi, Campus, Campulongu, Fortezza Vecchia, Cava Usai, Porto Giunco, Simius and Punta is Molentis. RITROVARSI NELLA BELLEZZA DEL LABIRINTO DI BORGES

REALIZZATO NEL 2011 dalla Fondazione Giorgio Cini, in occasione dei 25 anni dalla morte di Jorge Luis Borges, il Labirinto omonimo fu fortemente voluto dalla moglie Maria Kodama, scrittrice e traduttrice argentina, a testimonianza del grande amore che Borges nutriva per la città di Venezia. E nell’anno in cui ricorrono i quarant’anni dalla sua scomparsa, il Labirinto di Borges torna a risplendere grazie ai lavori di restauro che lo hanno reso nuovamente accessibile al pubblico dallo scorso luglio. Ideato dall’architetto e diplomatico inglese Randoll Coate, che si ispirò al celeberrimo libro di Borges “Il giardino dei sentieri che si biforcano”, del 1941, è considerato uno dei labirinti più belli e suggestivi d’Italia. Nel tempo, si è reso necessario un intervento di restauro conservativo per riportare i 1.150 metri di percorsi interni all’uniformità e alla leggibilità del disegno nel suo insieme. Le 3250 piante di bosso del labirinto, infatti, riproducono il nome del geniale scrittore e poeta novecentesco Jorge Luis Borges.

On the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, the garden has reopened following a conservation restoration, reclaiming its place among Italy’s most enchanting gardens and once again inspiring countless visitors

CREATEDIN2011bytheGiorgioCiniFoundationtomarkthe25th anniversary of Jorge Luis Borges’s death, the labyrinth bearing his name was strongly championed by his wife, María Kodama, the Argentine writer and translator, as a testament to Borges’s profound love for the city of Venice.

In the year marking the 40th anniversary of his passing, the Borges Labyrinth shines once more thanks to restoration work that has made it accessible to the public again since last July. Designed by the English architect and diplomat Randoll Coate, who drew inspiration from Borges’s celebrated 1941 book The Garden of Forking Paths, it is regarded as one of the most beautiful and evocative labyrinths in Italy. Over time, conservation work became necessary to restore the uniformity of its 1,150 metres of internal pathways and make the overalldesignclearlylegibleonceagain.Thelabyrinth’s3,250boxwood plants, in fact, spell out the name of the brilliant 20th-century writer and poet Jorge Luis Borges.

Arare meteorite discovered in the Sahara Desert may contain evidence of a lost planet that once existed in the Solar System.While analysing the NWA12774 fragment, researchers identiied crystals formed under pressures far too high for an asteroid and instead compatible with a celestial body at least as large as the Moon, and possibly even as large as Mars.The planet may have been destroyed more than 4.5 billion years ago by a violent collision, leaving behind fragments that now reveal a previously unknown chapter in the history of planetary formation.

Le temperature eccezionalmente elevate di queste settimane rappresentano un rischio concreto anche per i nostri cani. A differenza dell’uomo, il cane disperde il calore soprattutto attraverso l’ansimare e, solo in minima parte, tramite i cuscinetti plantari: per questo può andar incontro rapidamente a colpi di calore, una condizione che richiede un intervento veterinario immediato. Per proteggerlo è fondamentale evitare le passeggiate nelle ore più calde, preferendo la mattina presto o la sera, e garantire sempre acqua fresca e zone d’ombra. L’asfalto può raggiungere temperature molto elevate e causare ustioni ai cuscinetti: se è troppo caldo per il dorso della mano, lo è anche per le zampe del cane. Non bisogna mai lasciare un animale in auto, nemmeno per pochi minuti. I soggetti anziani, brachicefali, obesi o affetti da patologie cardiache e respiratorie sono particolarmente vulnerabili. Se il cane ansima in modo intenso, o presenta debolezza, disorientamento o collasso, è necessario raffreddarlo gradualmente con acqua fresca (non ghiacciata) e contattare subito il veterinario. La prevenzione resta la migliore forma di protezione.

The exceptionally high temperatures recorded in recent weeks also pose a genuine risk to our dogs. Unlike humans, dogs release heat mainly by panting and only to a very limited extent through their paw pads.As a result, they can quickly suffer heatstroke, a condition requiring immediate veterinary attention.

To protect them, it is essential to avoid walks during the hottest hours of the day, choosing the early morning or evening instead, and to ensure that fresh water and shaded areas are always available.Asphalt can reach extremely high temperatures and burn a dog’s paw pads: if it is too hot for the back of your hand, it is also too hot for your dog’s paws.

Animals must never be left inside a car, even for just a few minutes. Elderly, brachycephalic or obese dogs, as well as those suffering from heart or respiratory conditions, are particularly vulnerable. If a dog is panting heavily or showing signs of weakness, disorientation or collapse, it should be cooled gradually with fresh water — not ice-cold water — and a veterinarian should be contacted immediately. Prevention remains the best form of protection.

Tradition, innovation and local identity: this is how Michelin Italy is celebrating its 120th anniversary in 2026. A unique journey through a unique country.

To mark such an important milestone, “Italy on a Plate” was created: a project celebrating Italian cuisine and its extraordinary ability to evolve without losing its authenticity. The initiative involves Michelin-starred and Bib Gourmand restaurants featured in the 2026 Michelin Guide Italy, which have been invited to create and share a traditional dish reinterpreted in their own style and made predominantly with Italian ingredients.

It is an exercise in creativity and identity, as well as a project that celebrates the past while looking towards the future. This extensive recipe collection includes more than 200 creations, complete with ingredients, preparation methods and photographs, and will be published in two stages: the first 120 recipes are already available, while the remaining ones will appear on the website from 27 August.

L’Italia del turismo non si ferma. Anzi, si concede un’altra estate da regina con i numeri e le previsioni che la incoronano come una delle migliori mete in Europa. La conferma arriva anche dai dati dell’Ufficio di Statistica del Ministero del Turismo: a metà luglio oltre la metà delle strutture ricettive prenotabili sulle piattaforme online risultava già occupata (tasso di saturazione al 51,2%, tariffa media pari a 153 euro). Tra le destinazioni le aree lacustri sono quelle con il grado più elevato di saturazione (54%), seguite da località termali e balneari (entrambe al 51%).

On the contrary, the country is enjoying another summer in the spotlight, with figures and forecasts confirming its position as one of Europe’s leading destinations. Further confirmation comes from data released by the Statistics Office of the Italian Ministry ofTourism: by mid-July, more than half of all accommodation facilities available to book through online platforms were already occupied, with an occupancy rate of 51.2% and an average nightly rate of €153.

Among the various destinations, lake regions recorded the highest occupancy rate, at 54%, followed by spa resorts and seaside destinations, both at 51%. Searches by international tourists. Air-travel searches also increased by 26% compared with last year.

Però in Cina, a Yuncheng, città nella provincia cinese dello Shanxi, hanno ideato e sperimentato qualcosa di diverso. Una sorta di “aria condizionata a costo zero”, così è stata deinita, che consiste nella trasformazione dei tetti dei palazzi in un gigantesco sistema di raffrescamento a cielo aperto. Così dal “cielo” scende una nebbia inissima - composta da microgoccioline di diametro inferiore a quello di un capello - in grado di far crollare in pochi minuti la temperatura percepita anche ino a 8 °C.

Sweltering temperatures are one of summer’s greatest enemies, particularly in large cities, where the only defence often seems to be air conditioning running day and night. InYuncheng, however, a city in China’s Shanxi province, an alternative solution has been developed and tested. Described as a form of “zero-cost air conditioning”, it involves turning the roofs of buildings into a vast open-air cooling system. Avery ine mist falls from above, made up of micro-droplets smaller in diameter than a human hair, and is capable of reducing the perceived temperature by as much as 8°C within just a few minutes.

Its extensive programme will unfold across theatres, public squares and a new performance venue created especially for the Festival. LA GIORNATA INTERNAZIONALE DEL MEDITERRANEO ha dato il suo verdetto: gli italiani amano le crociere. Durante l’evento che celebra il nostro mare (8 luglio), AstraRicerche ha condotto una ricerca per conto di MSC Crociere il cui risultato è poco interpretabile: quasi 7 italiani su 10 (69,8%) hanno dichiarato di voler provare una crociera. Una chiara intenzione, molto più di una semplice curiosità, che deve ancora trasformarsi in esperienza diretta visto che al momento solo il 18,3% ne ha provata una. «I risultati della ricerca evidenziano un’evoluzione nelle modalità con cui gli italiani scelgono le proprie vacanze. Oggi non è più solo la scelta di una destinazione, ma la ricerca di un’esperienza completa, semplice da vivere, ricca di valore e capace di offrire serenità in ogni fase del viaggio», ha commentato Leonardo Massa, Vice President Southern Europe della Divisione Crociere del Gruppo MSC. Conta, e tanto, anche la destinazione: il Mediterraneo resta tuttora il simbolo per eccellenza della crociera, preferito dal 46%, ma scalano posizioni i Caraibi (36%) e il Nord Europa (32,3%), preferite in larga misura da giovani tra i 18 e i 30 anni.

THE MEDITERRANEAN remains the preferred destination, followed by the Caribbean and Northern Europe.

International Mediterranean Day delivered its verdict: Italians love cruises. During the event celebrating our sea on 8 July, AstraRicerche conducted a survey on behalf of MSC Cruises, producing a result that leaves little room for interpretation: almost 7 in 10 Italians, or 69.8%, said they would like to go on a cruise.

This is a clear intention, far more than simple curiosity, although it has yet to translate into direct experience, as only 18.3% have taken a cruise so far.

“The results of the survey highlight an evolution in the way Italians choosetheirholidays.Today,itisnolongersimplyaboutselectinga destination, but about seeking a complete experience that is easy to enjoy, rich in value and capable of offering peace of mind at every stage of the journey,” commented Leonardo Massa, Vice President Southern Europe of MSC Group’s Cruise Division.

The destination also matters a great deal. The Mediterranean remains the quintessential cruise destination, preferred by 46% of respondents, while the Caribbean, at 36%, and Northern Europe, at 32.3%, are gaining ground, particularly among young people aged between 18 and 30.

Basta alzare lo sguardo. Il Monte Bondone è lì, con le sue tre cime che superano i 2000 metri di altezza, a portata di mano. Anzi, di funivia, quella che dal Lungadige Monte Grappa, a pochi passi dal Duomo di San Vigilio, sale a Sardagna, frazione di Trento sulle pendici orientali della montagna. Dove si arriva anche con comodi bus che partono dalla stazione ferroviaria.

Bastano pochi chilometri e qualche tornante per raggiungere le frazioni di Candriai, Vaneze, Norge, Vason, punto di partenza di vari itinerari (oltre che centro della skiarea invernale), da percorsi brevi e pianeggianti, adatti alle famiglie, a itinerari più lunghi per chi cerca dislivelli maggiori, ma anche strade forestali e piste dedicate alla mountain bike.

TRENTO LA MONTAGNA IN CITTÀ

Proseguendo in direzione sud si arriva alla Conca delle Viote, uno degli spazi più caratteristici del Monte Bondone: un grande altopiano circondato da cime tondeggianti, dove in estate convivono pascoli e percorsi escursionistici con dislivelli moderati. Nella piana si trova uno dei giardini botanici più antichi e più grandi delle Alpi, con una collezione che comprende circa 2000 specie di piante di alta quota, molte delle quali a rischio estinzione, in rappresentanza delle aree montane di tutto il mondo, organizzate in settori che riproducono i diversi habitat. Sede territoriale del Museo delle Scienze di Trento, durante il periodo estivo il Giardino botanico alpino delle Viote propone un ricco ca-

lendario di attività e laboratori per le famiglie, visite guidate, corsi e giornate a tema (muse.it). Questo ambiente unico è oggi Riserva integrale e fa parte dal 2008 della Rete delle Riserve del Monte Bondone, che conta otto zone speciali di conservazione e quattro riserve locali, a tutela di castagneti, faggete, conifere montane e praterie d’alta quota. Nella Conca delle Viote, poco sopra l’area dell’ex poligono militare, si trova anche la Terrazza delle Stelle, piccolo osservatorio astronomico dotato di potenti telescopi, gestito sempre dal Muse di Trento, che di sera organizza osservazioni guidate per conoscere meglio le costellazioni e i fenomeni celesti. Le pendici occidentali del Bondone, fitte di boschi, sovrastano la bella Valle dei Laghi dove è l’acqua a dominare il paesaggio, con i bacini di Terlago, Santa Massenza, Toblino e Cavedine. Una zona dalla natura del tutto particolare, costellata di piccoli borghi e in cui si mescolano vegetazione mediterranea e alpina e convivono olivo e faggio, leccio e conifere, alloro e muschio. On Monte Bondone and in the Valle dei Laghi, among nature oases, superb views and outdoor activities. From trekking to cycling, from climbing to water sports

All you have to do is look up. Monte Bondone is right there, with its three peaks rising above 2,000 metres, within easy reach. In fact, by cable car: the one that departs from Lungadige Monte Grappa, just a short walk from the Cathedral of San Vigilio, and climbs to Sardagna, a district of Trento on the mountain’s eastern slopes. It can also

be reached by convenient buses departing from the railway station. Just a few kilometres and a handful of hairpin bends are enough to reach the villages of Candriai, Vaneze, Norge and Vason, the starting point for various itineraries, as well as the heart of the winter ski area. These range from short, lat routes suitable for families to longer trails for those seeking greater

elevation gains, as well as forest roads and dedicated mountain-bike tracks. Continuing south, you come to the Viote basin, one of Monte Bondone’s most distinctive areas: a broad plateau surrounded by rounded peaks, where summer pastures and hiking trails with moderate elevation gains coexist. On the plain lies one of the oldest and largest botanical gardens in theAlps, with a collection of around 2,000 species of high-altitude plants, many of them at risk of extinction. Representing mountain regions from all over the world, they are arranged in sections that recreate different habitats.

A local branch of the MUSE – Science Museum of Trento, the Viote Alpine Botanical Garden offers a rich summer programme of family activities and workshops, guided tours, courses and themed days (muse.it). This unique environment is now a strict nature reserve and, since 2008, has been part of the Monte Bondone Network of Reserves, which includes eight Special Areas of Conservation and four local reserves,

protecting chestnut woods, beech forests, mountain conifers and high-altitude grasslands.

In the Viote basin, just above the former military iring range, there is also the Terrazza delle Stelle, a small astronomical observatory equipped with powerful telescopes and also managed by MUSE Trento. In the evenings, it organises guided observation sessions to help visitors learn more about constellations and celestial phenomena. But you can also go up Monte Bondone simply to enjoy its magniicent views. One of these can be admired from Cima Palon, just below the upper station of the Palon Chairlift: a 360-degree view of Trentino, complete with an information panel identifying all the surrounding mountains. Another opens up from Cima Montesel, reached on foot from Vason by following the route of the Diagonale ski slope, offering an incredible view of the eastern side of Palon, majestic and wild.

The entire area is also ideal for cycling enthusiasts. It is no coincidence that the legendary “Charly Gaul” climb up Monte Bondone starts from Trento, dedicated to the Luxembourg cyclist who, in 1956, completed an epic ascent that led him to victory in the Giro d’Italia. A widespread rental service (prestabici.cc) offers bicycles of all kinds: trekking and city bikes, gravel and mountain bikes, racing and road bikes, as well as e-bikes.

Another sport that reigns supreme here is

sport climbing. One key reference point is the “Giorgio and Rita Graffer” Rock-Climbing Gym, with numerous sport-climbing routes of varying lengths and levels of dificulty, suitable for both beginners and more experienced climbers. At Aeropark & Monte Bondone in Vason, at an altitude of 1,600 metres, visitors can learn how to move through the air in a mountain setting, climb a small rock wall and tackle exposed routes with the safety of proper equipment (dolomitiavventura.it).

Anche quest’anno, come negli ultimi venti, Maratea ha ottenuto la Bandiera Blu, prestigioso riconoscimento della Foundation for Environmental Education che premia l’eccellenza delle acque di balneazione, la qualità dei servizi turistici e l’impegno costante nella sostenibilità ambientale. Non solo: la Guida blu di Legambiente e Touring Club ha riconfermato all’unico comune lucano affacciato sul Mar Tirreno le 5 Vele attribuite alle località marine e lacustri “più sostenibili e che si stanno adattando alla crisi climatica in atto”. Se non bastasse, nel 2023 Maratea è entrata nell’elenco dei Borghi più belli d’Italia, grazie alla sua straordinaria bellezza paesaggistica e al suo ricco patrimonio storico. Trentadue chilometri di grotte, faraglioni, strapiombi e minuscole insenature su cui si affacciano i piccoli abitati di Maratea Superiore, Maratea Porto e Marina di Maratea. E poi ci sono le frazioni, tantissime: Fiumicello, Acquafredda, Ogliastro, Castrocucco, Cersuta, ognuna con la sua spiaggia. Lidi scomodi, alcuni raggiungibili solo a piedi o in barca, dove si può trovare il proprio angolo di paradiso anche a Ferragosto. A dominare il tutto, sul Monte San Biagio, la statua del Cristo Redentore, gemellata con la più celebre di Rio de Janeiro, da cui si allarga una vista mozzafiato sull’intero golfo. Il borgo medievale è un dedalo di vicoli, piazzette, botteghe e antiche chiese (nel territorio di Maratea se ne contano 44), come quella di San Vito, gioiello nascosto di arte sacra medievale. A cominciare da I Vranne, una lingua di sabbia fine e scura, poi Cala Jannita, o Spiaggia Nera, Macarro e Santa Teresa, la più spettacolare, di ghiaia e ciottoli, fino a Castrocucco, con il lungo arenile chiamato A’ Gnola, che segna il confine con la Calabria. In barca si può raggiungere l’isolotto Santo Janni, i cui fondali conservano uno dei più ricchi giacimenti di anfore e ancore romane del Mediterraneo, che si possono ammirare a Palazzo De Lieto. Verso nord, nella frazione di Acquafredda, il litorale è un susseguirsi di pareti scoscese, grotte, baiette e spiagge, alcune inaccessibili da terra, dalla mezzaluna di Porticello alla grande spiaggia di ciottoli della Luppa, all’Anginarra, altri 200 metri di arenile sabbioso. Poi solo spettacolari pareti a strapiombo fino alla minuscola spiaggia di Mezzanotte, al confine con la Campania.

Tanta bellezza è rimasta quasi sconosciuta fino alla metà del secolo scorso, quando il conte Stefano Rivetti, esponente di una delle più importanti famiglie di industriali lanieri piemontesi e amico di Gianni Agnelli, oltre a impiantarvi una fabbrica avviò la costruzione di un albergo di lusso, facendo della località lucana una piccola Capri, più riservata e meno esibizionista. I SAPORI DEL MATESE

Ci sono territori che si raccontano attraverso un monumento e altri che affidano la propria identità ai prodotti della terra: il Matese appartiene a questa seconda categoria. Tra faggete, pascoli d’altura e piccoli borghi medievali, il paesaggio conserva un patrimonio agricolo che parla di biodiversità, memoria e resilienza. Da qui nasce il progetto che vede protagonista Don Alfonso 1890, chiamato a trasformare l’alta cucina in uno strumento di valorizzazione territoriale.

Some places tell their story through a monument, while others entrust their identity to the fruits of the land. The Matese area belongs to the latter category. Amid beech forests,high-altitudepasturesandsmallmedievalvillages, the landscape preserves an agricultural heritage rooted in biodiversity, memory and resilience. This is the setting for a project led by DonAlfonso1890,whichhasbeencalledupontoturnhautecuisine into a tool for promoting and enhancing the local area.

At Sant’Agata sui Due Goli, in the Iaccarino family’s cookery school, the Michelin-starred restaurant has become a meeting place for tourism professionals from the villages of Castello del Matese and Letino and one of the most respected names in Italian gastronomy.This is not simply a cookery course, but a workshop of ideas in which techniques, hospitality and product culture come together with a shared goal: to give new value to the outstanding produce of the area.

At the heart of the project are four ingredients that symbolise the Matese region: the Letino potato, black trufle, sècena—anancientvarietyofryenowrecognisedasaSlow Food Presidium—and honey from the mountain meadows. These ingredients relect a form of mountain agriculture based on small-scale producers, organic farming and biodiversity. In the hands of Ernesto Iaccarino and his kitchen brigade, they are transformed into contemporary dishes that demonstrate how food can tell the story of a landscape. The project is part of a cultural and social regeneration programme for the Matese villages, supported by Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan and developed in partnership with the Federico II University of Naples, the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, the University of Salerno andtheUniversityofSannio.Itsaimistocreateanetworkof“local ambassadors”: chefs, restaurateurs and hospitality professionals capable of promoting local products.

For the Iaccarino family, this initiative represents the natural evolution of a philosophy developed over more than ifty years. From the organic farm Le Peracciole to the Michelin Green Star, sustainability has never been treated as a trend, but as a working method founded on respect for the land. The same approach is now being placed at the service of the Matese area.

When gastronomy grows out of a place and interprets its identity, it becomes a vehicle for cultural regeneration, capable of creating new economicopportunitiesandrestoringsmallvillagestoacentralrole.

IN UN ANFITEATRO DI VIGNETI SI SVELA RÉVA RESORT

Réva Resort è la struttura ideale quando si ha bisogno che la natura dia quell’abbraccio che rasserena e riconcilia con sé stessi. A Monforte d’Alba, Réva è un progetto di ospitalità e ristorazione nato “al servizio della produzione dei vini”, che il prossimo anno arriverà a circa 32 ettari di proprietà, di cui 7 coltivati a Barolo, con le più importanti denominazioni di zona, come Ravera, Cannubi, Cerretta, Lazzarito. L’idea che ha ispirato la proprietà è semplice: «Accogliere ospiti nelle Langhe e far vivere loro un’esperienza completa, mantenendo sempre un livello costante nei servizi, perché non possiamo servire un vino molto buono con servizi non all’altezza, nella ristorazione, nell’ospitalità, ma anche nelle esperienze, come la cerca dei tartui, le degustazioni dei nostri vini, le cooking class e gli show cooking». Un’idea di connessione che si sostanzia a tavola, con la proposta

di chef Marchese, che fonde le tecniche dell’alta cucina francese con gli ingredienti e il terroir delle Langhe. Réva Resort is the ideal retreat when you need nature to offer the kind of embrace that restores calm and reconnects you with yourself. Daniele Scaglia, General Manager of Réva Resort, shares a small anecdote: “Réva means ‘bunch of grapes’in Czech, relecting the origins of the investor, who arrived here 15 years ago and has since become a true ‘man of the Langhe’. He decided to invest in the winery and renovate it. Réva opened as a resort in 2016, with 12 rooms and the Fre restaurant—fre means blacksmith in Piedmontese—led by resident chef Francesco Marchese. The restaurant has held one Michelin star since 2020 and, in 2024, also received the Passion Dessert distinction, awarded by the Michelin Guide for chefs’ outstanding sweet creations.”

Located in Monforte d’Alba, Réva is a hospitality and dining project originally conceived “in support of the wine production”. By next year, the estate will encompass approximately 32 hectares, seven of which are planted with Barolo vineyards in some of the area’s most prestigious appellations, including Ravera, Cannubi, Cerretta and Lazzarito.

The idea behind the project is simple: “To welcome guests to the Langhe and offer them a complete experience, while maintaining consistently high standards across every service. We cannot serve an excellent wine without providing equally outstanding dining, hospitality and experiences, such as trufle hunting, tastings of our wines, cooking classes and show cooking.”

This philosophy of connection is expressed at the table through chef Marchese’s cuisine, which blends the techniques of French haute cuisine with the ingredients and terroir of the Langhe. Drawing on signiicant experience alongside chefs Marc Veyrat and Yannick Alléno, Marchese continues to develop his vision at Fre: “He is furthering the concept of a restaurant that brings something exceptional to the plate, something unique to the area, combining two great culinary traditions.”

The magic is recreated every evening at sunset, when the light over the vineyards turns red and the lavourful dishes capture the diners’attention. La prima stagione uscì nell’estate del 2020. Stavamo uscendo dalla prima difficile crisi del Covid e ci eravamo per necessità affezionati alle piattaforme streaming. Su AppleTv arrivò Ted Lasso, serie tv su un allenatore statunitense ingaggiato da un club di Premier League. Già l’antefatto è particolarmente irreale e mentre uno continua nella visione si rende conto che gli effetti speciali della partita sono fatti abbastanza male, le dinamiche di spogliatoio sono quanto meno fantasiose e anche le sequenze con i veri protagonisti del mondo del calcio (Guardiola ad esempio) sembrano ridicole. Ma c’è un però: fin da subito la serie dimostrò di avere un cuore enorme, una iniezione di positività, gentilezza e ottimismo che conquistò il pubblico. Fu un successo clamoroso, consegnando alla grandezza il suo protagonista, Jason Sudeikis, che conquistò due Golden Globe, due Screen Actors Guild Award, un Critics’ Choice Television Award e quattro Premi Emmy. Dal 5 agosto arriva la quarta stagione con una nuova missione per Ted: allenare una squadra di calcio femminile di seconda divisione. Durante la stagione, Ted e la squadra imparano a buttarsi senza pensarci troppo, correndo rischi che non avrebbero mai pensato di affrontare. COME COMPORTARSI in caso d’emergenza WHAT TO DO in an emergency

Nella condizione ordinaria di marcia in sicurezza, i passeggeri devono occupare esclusivamente gli spazi idonei al loro trasporto in modo da non ostacolare il personale di bordo nell’espletamento delle attività connesse con la sicurezza e eventuali operazioni di evacuazione del treno in emergenza. In caso di evacuazione del treno in emergenza è necessario attenersi alle istruzioni del personale di bordo prestando attenzione al rispetto delle seguenti istruzioni di carattere generale:

■ Abbandonare il treno senza indugi, in maniera ordinata e con calma;

■ Aiutare chi si trovi in difficoltà, con priorità a soggetti “sensibili” (bambini, donne in stato di gravidanza, por- tatori di handicap, ecc.);

■ Abbandonare i bagagli e non tornare indietro per nessun motivo;

■ In presenza di fumo o fiamme camminare chini.

In ordinary condition of safe running, travellers must remain in their assigned seats so that they do not prevent the work of on-board staff performing safety-related tasks or interfere with train evacuation in the event of an emergency. In the event of an emergency evacuation, follow the instructions of the on-board staff and the following general safety information:

■ Evacuate the train quickly, calmly and in an orderly fashion;

■ Help passengers requiring assistance, giving priority to children, pregnant women, the disabled;

■ Leave your luggage behind, and do not re-enter the train for any reason;

■ Walk bending down if there is smoke or flame.

ESODO GALLERIA linea AV/AC Firenze-Bologna TUNNEL AV/AC evacuation Florence-Bologna

Per un ordinato e rapido esodo dalla galleria è necessario attenersi alle istruzioni fornite dal personale ferroviario direttamente o mediante gli impianti di diffusione sonora, prestando comunque osservanza alle seguenti indicazi generale:

1. Una volta discesi dal treno occorre dirigersi verso la direzione più opportuna per l’esodo seguendo i cartelli segnaletici affissi sulla parete della galleria e/o le indicazioni fornite dal personale ferroviario;

2. La galleria dovrà essere percorsa camminando esclusivamente sul marciapiede laterale della stessa evitando di invadere i binari;

3. L’attraversamento dei binari, se necessario per raggiungere l’uscita, deve essere preventivamente autorizzato dal personale ferroviario;

4. Durante l’esodo occorre mantenere la calma, non spingere o accalcarsi con le persone che precedono, non creare allarmismo;

5. Aiutare, per quanto possibile, le persone a mobilità ridotta;

6. Una volta raggiunta l’uscita occorre non disperdersi e seguire le istruzioni impartite dalle squadre di soccorso.

For an orderly and efficient evacuation in a tunnel please follow the instructions provided by the train personnel either or over the train P.A. system, while bearing in mind the following general indications:

1. Once off the train, you must head in the most appropriate direction for evacuation by following the indications of the train personnel and/or, if there are, the signs on the tunnel walls;

2. While in the tunnel, walk along the side pavement only and be sure to avoid encroaching on the tracks;

3. Crossing of the tracks, if required in order to reach the exit, must be authorized in advance by the train personnel;

4.During the evacuation you must keep calm all the time. Avoid pushing or crowding the people in front and do not panic;

5. People with reduced mobility should be helped as much as possible;

6. On reaching the exit, remain in the area and follow the instructions provided by rescue teams.

Per aprire la porta in emergenza:

■ girare la maniglia verso il basso (Fig.1- disegno 1)

■ attendere l’accensione del pulsante rosso

■ premere il pulsante rosso ed aprire la porta (Fig.1- disegno 2)

To open the emergency exits:

■ Wait until the red light comes on (Fig.1 - drawing 1)

■ Turn the handle downwards

■ Press the button with the red light on it open the door (Fig.1 - drawing 2)

FINESTRINI/Windows

Prelevare il martello frangivetro, (Fig.2) colpire il finestrino nel punto indicato sul vetro (Fig.3) e spingere il finestrino.

Pick up the hammer for breaking glass (Fig.2) use it to strike the window at the spot marked (Fig.3) and push the window out.

PRESE ELETTRICHE

Piccoli suggerimenti utili per evitare di danneggiare le prese elettriche a bordo di ITALO e per l’utilizzo in tutta sicurezza:

■ Evitare di maneggiare materiale elettrico con le mani bagnate;

■ Estrarre la spina da una presa afferrando con le dita il corpo della stessa, evitando di tirare solo il cavo;

■ è vietato l’utilizzo di prese multiple, ciabatte e/o prolunghe;

■ Limitare l’utilizzo di adattori;

■Evitare di lasciare inserite nelle prese spine non collegate ad alcuna apparecchiatura;

■ In caso di danneggiamento della presa o di qualsiasi altro problema di natura elettrica, rivolgersi tempestivamente al personale di bordo ITALO.

OLD MONEY E NEW MONEY UNA QUESTIONE DI STILE

OLD MONEY, new money, no money. Quelli che un tempo i sociologi definivano i “marcatori di status”, cioè i segni esteriori che, per quanto a qualcuno possa dispiacere, indicano a colpo d’occhio e con un lieve margine di errore come siamo stati educati, la nostra cultura e, in parte, le nostre disponibilità economiche, sui social si sono codificati in queste definizioni più brutali, cioè più simili alla società contemporanea. Sono scomparsi i manuali di bon ton, la società si vorrebbe inclusiva, ma è chiaro che non lo sia affatto e che al vasto pubblico qualche indicazione serva o che lo incuriosisca ancora, perché i brevi video, anche generati in AI, che accompagnano questi “contenuti”, generano centinaia di migliaia di visualizzazioni. Offrono le stesse informazioni contenute negli scritti della “Marchesa Colombi” alla fine dell’Ottocento o della grande Matilde Serao, la prima donna che abbia fondato e diretto un quotidiano (Il Mattino), dopo la terribile esperienza di Eleonora Pimentel col Monitore Napoletano nel 1799: meglio non eccedere nel trucco, meglio ancora che non vi sia, guai a parlare a voce alta, tenere le unghie corte e lucidate con la pezzuola. Erano anni in cui non esistevano le ciglia finte e nemmeno gli smalti (sarebbero arrivati con il fondatore di Revlon alla fine degli Anni Trenta); eppure, oggi come un tempo, vi sono folle intere avide di capire perché gli “old money” non abbiano le unghie appuntite e smaltate di rosa acceso, perché non si applichino le ciglia a spazzolone alle otto di mattina e non ritengano un diritto urlare in spiaggia i fatti propri al cellulare. È un ottimo segno, comunque.

OLD MONEY AND NEW MONEY: A MATTER OF STYLE

OLD MONEY, new money, no money. What sociologists once called “status markers” — the outward signs that, however unpalatable some may ind it, reveal at a glance, and with only a slight margin of error, how we were brought up, our cultural background and, to some extent, our inancial means — have been recast on social media in these blunter terms, more closely relecting contemporary society. Etiquette manuals have disappeared, and society likes to think of itself as inclusive. Yet it is quite clear that it is anything but, and that the wider public still needs — or is at least intrigued by — a few pointers. The short videos accompanying this type of “content”, including those generated by AI, attract hundreds of thousands of views.

They offer the same advice found in the writings of “Marchesa Colombi” in the late 19th century or of the great Matilde Serao, the irst woman to found and edit a daily newspaper, Il Mattino, following Eleonora Pimentel’s tragic experience with Il Monitore Napoletano in 1799: do not overdo your make-up — better still, wear none at all; never speak too loudly; keep your nails short and polished with a bufing cloth.

These were years when false eyelashes did not yet exist, nor did nail polish, which would only arrive with the founder of Revlon in the late 1930s. And yet, now as then, entire crowds are eager to understand why the “old money” set do not wear pointed nails painted bright pink, why they do not apply broom-like false eyelashes at eight in the morning, and why they do not consider it their right to shout the details of their private lives into a mobile phone on the beach. All things considered, that is an excellent sign.
