Tutta la storia di San Casciano e di Fonteverde è legata alle fonti termali, apprezzate già dagli Etruschi e poi dai Romani. Nel Medioevo erano una sosta gradita per i pellegrini che da tanti paesi passavano di qui sulla via per Roma. Nel 1607 il Granduca Ferdinando I de’ Medici fece costruire il portico in pietra che oggi è parte fondamentale della struttura. Dal 1930 inizia la storia di Fonteverde come albergo e spa, a partire dagli edifici medicei. Ancora oggi custodiamo con cura la cultura termale. Nelle meravigliose piscine termali le sue acque scorrono, immutate da millenni, con il loro potere di rigenerare e aiutano in mille modi la salute e il benessere.

THOUSANDS OF YEARS OF WELLBEING FROM OUR THERMAL WATERS The very history of San Casciano and Fonteverde is linked to the thermal springs, appreciated first by the Etruscans and later the Romans. In Medieval times they were a popular stopping place for pilgrims en route to Rome from many different countries. In 1607 Grand Duke Ferdinand I de’ Medici built the stone colonnade which still forms a key part of the building today. 1930 marked the start of Fonteverde’s history as a hotel and spa, based around the buildings erected by the Medici family. We still guard the traditions of thermal springs and superb Italian hospitality just as closely today. The waters still flow into our wonderful thermal pools just as they have done for thousands of years, with the power to rejuvenate and boost our health and wellbeing in a thousand-and-one different ways.

Milano Torino new age: un cocktail per l'estate. Andrea Francardi è il bartender di Fonteverde. È giovane, creativo, pieno di entusiasmo. Ha vinto premi internazionali e nel 2016 ha rappresentato l’Italia nel concorso mondiale Iba a Tokyo. Oggi ci propone il suo Milano Torino New Age. Fresco, gustoso e colorato, perfetto in una serata estiva in Toscana. Gustatelo davanti al meraviglioso panorama della nostra terrazza.

L’acqua di Fonteverde: un sorso di salute.
Stile italiano La nostra boutique offre il meglio dello stile italiano, in particolare la linea di abbigliamento Terre Alte, con capi in lana merinos, cachemire e filati pregiati nati da una vera vocazione artigianale. In ogni capo si nota l’accurata scelta delle materie prime, la massima cura del dettaglio e della lavorazione.
Alla spa o al buffet della colazione i nostri ospiti hanno a disposizione la nostra acqua termale da bere che, a digiuno, è l’ideale per iniziare la giornata purificando l’organismo. Le nostre acque termali sono ricche di zolfo, calcio, fluoro e magnesio, sgorgano in superficie ad una temperatura di 42°C. Sono utilizzate senza alcun trattamento chimico o fisico: la loro purezza microbiologica è garantita dalla profondità delle sorgenti, e dal costante ricambio. Bere l’acqua termale fornisce all’organismo elettroliti e calcio utile a combattere l’osteoporosi. L’apparato locomotore acquista tono muscolare, il sistema nervoso si rilassa, l’organismo beneficia delle proprietà antinfiammatorie e analgesiche dell’acqua, il fegato e le vie biliari dell’effetto antitossico e metabolico.
Un massaggio nuovo, per riscoprirsi al meglio. Alla spa quest’anno proponiamo il nuovo Bamboo massage con bendaggio alla caffeina ed escina. È un massaggio localizzato drenante con bamboo, praticato proprio sulle zone del corpo sulle quali vogliamo l’effetto drenante. If you’re not used to exercising, this is an easy and enjoyable way to discover its benefits; for our sportier guests, it’s a relaxing start to a busy day.
The hotel boutique brings you the very best in Italian style, as epitomised by the Terre Alte collection: garments crafted from Merino wool, cashmere and fine yarns by artisan designers. Fonteverde’s thermal water: the health-giving drink. At the spa and breakfast buffet, guests can help themselves to our thermal water. Drunk before a meal, it’s the ideal way to start off the day by purifying the body. Rich in sulphur, calcium, fluorine and magnesium, our thermal waters rise to the surface at a temperature of 42° C. The water is not treated chemically or in other ways: the depth of the springs and the constant turnover make it microbiologically pure. Drinking thermal water supplies the body with electrolytes and calcium, useful in combatting osteoporosis. Our musculoskeletal system improves in terms of muscle tone, the nervous system relaxes, our bodies benefit from the water’s anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties, and the liver and biliary system receive an anti-toxin, metabolic boost.

This year our spa is offering a new Bamboo massage, featuring a caffeine and escin wrap. Bamboo sticks are used during this lymph-draining massage, focusing on those areas of the body where liquids tend to accumulate.
