TRAINING TO REAWAKEN DORMANT KRISHNA CONSCIOUSNESS Millions of Srila Prabhupada’s books have been distributed across the world, yet training is essential to help people come forward and deepen their Krishna consciousness. The Bhakti Steps programme is a humble effort to guide newcomers and support devotees in reawakening their dormant Krishna consciousness. Following in the footsteps of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura’s pioneering Namahatta programme, Bhakti Steps aims to spread the holy names and support Srila Prabhupada’s mission through structured, accessible spiritual training. Bhakti Steps is delivered in an informal and supportive setting. Each weekly session explores an aspect of bhakti philosophy, with participants progressing through six modules while gradually strengthening their spiritual practice.

A VIBRANT START TO THE YEAR The programme has continued to grow, with 17 active groups and 11 trainees preparing to start new groups. Recent highlights included the first and second initiation of several members, marking significant steps in their bhakti journeys. A joyful graduation ceremony also took place in the beautifully decorated temple room before Their Lordships, with kirtan, drama, certificate presentations, and prasadam. Many members have also been regularly joining book distribution and Monthly Sankirtan Festivals, while new online reading groups have begun. Members have shared that the programme has helped them improve their spiritual practice and feel closer to Krishna.

It helped me find humility within myself and understand the importance of constant devotee association. It inspired me to start chanting more. Devotee Care The culture of devotee care was established by Srila Prabhupada from the very beginning of the ISKCON movement. By his own example, Srila Prabhupada showed the greatest compassion, coming to the West and freely giving Krishna consciousness to all who wished to cultivate their spiritual life. Following in his footsteps, ISKCON London seeks to promote a culture of care and compassion by supporting the spiritual practice of senior, sick, and disabled devotees.
CARE & COMPASSION A Devotee Care team was established two years ago to provide association and opportunities for devotional service to senior, sick, and disabled devotees. Under the supervision of Hemangi devi dasi, Head of Devotee Care for the UK, the team organises support according to individual needs, including home visits, hospital visits, care home visits, temple visits, and spiritual training.
SUPPORTING DEVOTEES Many of those receiving care are senior devotees who have practiced Krishna consciousness for many years. Some are unable to leave their homes due to illness, so team members visit them with maha-prasadam, read Vaishnava literature, chant japa, and offer devotional association. When devotees are able to come to the temple, support is arranged to escort them during programmes, share prasadam, and engage them in service. Senior devotees are also supported to stay connected through services such as wrapping gifts, printing cards, and book distribution.

Hospital visits began a year ago, and two Bhakti Steps groups for devotees experiencing mental health challenges are now being run under the supervision of Amala Manjari devi dasi. Devotees living in residential hospitals have been working through Bhakti Steps Modules One and Two, while also completing a sadhana sheet. Devotee children with moderate to severe disabilities, who are unable to attend Krishna Club at the temple or online, have also received home visits. These sessions follow the Krishna Club temple programme, helping children deepen their spiritual knowledge through stories and crafts about the Lord.
GROWING THE SERVICE Recently, in collaboration with the Sankirtan department, care home visits have also begun. A team of kirtan and sankirtan devotees visits care homes to introduce residents to the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, offer maha-prasadam, and invite them to take a book. The first programme was a great success, with staff dancing with the devotees, residents receiving prasadam, and the care home receiving a Sri Caitanya-caritamrta set. The team of Devotee Care facilitators is also receiving valuable chaplaincy training under the care of Hari Dhama dasa, helping them to better serve devotees with compassion, sensitivity, and spiritual support. The next step for the Devotee Care team is to organise two new Bhakti Steps groups for senior devotees. We humbly request the prayers of all ISKCON London devotees so that this important culture of care and compassion may continue to grow within the temple community.

Food For Life Food for Life continues its inspiring service of distributing prasadam to the homeless and those in need, with dedicated volunteers serving six days a week in the evenings. Through our partnership with Food For All, meals are supplied from the Euston kitchen, ensuring a steady and generous offering. The team serves around 600 meals every week, making a meaningful difference in many lives. Recently, Govinda’s also kindly provided khichdi, which was very gratefully received and quickly distributed, along with cake and water. We would like to offer special thanks to Sachi Kumar Nimai dasa for kindly agreeing to drive the Food For Life van every day. His dependable service has brought muchneeded stability to the project and removed the anxiety of finding drivers each day. We are also grateful for his enthusiasm and thoughtful ideas on how the project can continue to grow and develop.
Our heartfelt thanks also go to Rsi Raya Gauranga dasa and Sachi Kumar Nimai dasa for fixing the main light at the back of the van. This is especially important when prasadam needs to be served from inside the van during adverse weather conditions.
We also thank all the devotees and volunteers who continue to support this important outreach with dedication and care.

GOVINDA’S RESTAURANT
Govinda’s continues to share delicious, wholesome prasadam in the heart of London, with several exciting developments taking place from January to May.
BIKE LAUNCH On 5th March, the Govinda’s bike was officially launched by the council, marking an important step in making nourishing prasadam more accessible to the wider community.
SOUTH INDIAN MENU On 28th April, Govinda’s Holborn introduced a new range of South Indian offerings, bringing authentic flavours and comforting classics to the menu. From crispy dosas and soft idlis to rich sambhar and a variety of chutneys, the new menu has been warmly received by guests.

RECOGNIZED BY HARDEN’S Govinda’s was also delighted to receive a Certificate of Achievement from Harden’s, one of the UK’s most respected restaurant guides. This recognition is a wonderful testament to the dedication of the entire Govinda’s team, whose hard work and service continue to make Govinda’s a much-loved destination for visitors, devotees, and the wider community.

May was especially busy and auspicious, with the launch of Mornings at Govinda’s at the Soho branch. The new breakfast service was inaugurated by Indradyumna Swami, bringing great spiritual energy to this new offering.
NEW SATTVIC SNACK COUNTER A new sattvic snack counter has also launched, offering freshly prepared favourites such as crispy boondi, golden fafda, savoury mixture, murukku, and more.
REFRESHING GELATOS With summer upon us, Govinda’s refreshing gelatos continue to be a welcome treat, with the special avocado sorbet quickly becoming a seasonal favourite.
GOVINDA’S CATERING Govinda’s also had the pleasure of catering for the RISE UK National Retreat, serving fresh, wholesome meals for an event centred on community, connection, and wellbeing. The team has also supported corporate, office, and university catering, bringing pure vegetarian prasadam to workplaces and students across London. Govinda’s catering service continues to be available for special occasions, from intimate gatherings to larger celebrations, bringing vibrant flavours and wholesome dishes to the table.
Looking ahead, the team is excited to announce that the Govinda’s food van will be launching soon, creating even more opportunities to share prasadam across London.

Krishna Club & Children’s Events ISKCON London’s Krishna Club provides a vibrant and nurturing environment where children can flourish spiritually, learn timeless values, and develop strong character rooted in the teachings of Srila Prabhupada. Sessions run every Sunday, with in-person classes at the temple from 9.45am to 11.30am, facilitated by Mani Manjari devi dasi, and online Zoom sessions from 9.30am to 10.30am, facilitated by Devaki devi dasi and Diveswaree. Through bhajans, prayers, chanting, storytelling, arts and crafts, and discussions, children are encouraged to connect with Krishna consciousness in a joyful and age-appropriate way. During January to May, the temple Krishna Club children explored the Demons of Vrindavan and the anarthas they represent, learning through stories, crafts, and hands-on activities how Krishna removes unwanted qualities from the heart. They also studied the lives of great devotees such as King Bharata, Grandfather Bhishma, King Bali, Dhruva Maharaja, and Narada Muni, reflecting on the nine processes of devotional service and the development of pure love for the Lord.

Special celebrations for Nityananda Trayodasi and Gaura Purnima were also held. The children learned about Lord Chaitanya and Lord Nityananda, explored the symbols on Lord Chaitanya’s lotus feet, and joyfully participated in an abhisheka of the Krishna Club Gaura-Nitai Deities. With parents present and everyone chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, the children took turns bathing the Deities with honey, juice, yogurt, and water, dressing Them, and offering Them garlands. In preparation for London Rathayatra, the children made “Get Well Soon”cards for Lord Jagannath, Lord Baladeva, and Lady Subhadra, lovingly asking Them to get better and return soon to Their home at the London temple. They also created beautiful faces of the Lords, helping bring Them closer to their hearts.
Weekly online Krishna Club sessions also continued on Zoom, centred around Krishna’s pastimes and giving children another opportunity to learn and grow spiritually from home. Krishna Club, along with its associated events and activities, continues to be a loving space where children feel welcomed, inspired, and connected to the wider devotee community. We look forward to announcing a number of exciting new offerings in due course to support children and families.

London College of Vedic Studies (LCVS) The London College of Vedic Studies (LCVS) continued to explore how the path of bhaktiyoga can address the very human struggles of the modern age, while also offering a diverse range of courses to nourish devotional culture, practical skills, and community life. A key highlight was Bhakti Vasudeva Swami’s seminar, “The Art of Mind Control,” which opened a space not only for learning, but also for honest reflection. Questions around mental health and relationships were addressed with depth and compassion. Maharaja described the uncontrolled mind as a “radical child” that needs to be gently guided rather than suppressed. He also shared the deeply restorative power of mantra meditation through the concept of “sonic therapeutic intervention”, while emphasising the importance of self-forgiveness in moments of seeming self-defeat.

One particularly striking reflection was the caution not to make our problems a “worshipable deity,” inviting participants to loosen their grip on identities formed around personal struggles. In this way, bhakti was presented not only as a spiritual discipline, but as a path of inner kindness, honesty, and transformation. Alongside this, LCVS offered a range of courses and workshops, including an ongoing online Bharatanatyam dance class, a Mridanga workshop, seasonal Tulasi care seminars, an introductory Ayurvedic treatment seminar, and a Sanskrit course. Together, these offerings reflect LCVS’s desire to support a balanced cultivation of devotional life, learning, service, and community.

NEW LCVS COORDINATOR We offer heartfelt thanks to Dipadatri Gaurangi devi dasi for overseeing LCVS and for all her dedicated service. We warmly welcome Anisa as the new LCVS Coordinator.
Anisa is currently serving and residing at the Temple. Coming from an Indonesian-Italian background and having spent most of her life in London, she came to bhakti in 2022 while studying at King’s College London, through the preaching activities taking place there. Since then, she has been gradually walking this path of devotion. Her interests include interfaith dialogue, language and culture, music psychology, cow protection, and holistic health as it relates to bhakti-yoga. She is especially drawn to singing and songwriting as a means of healing rather than entertainment, and hopes to one day use these inclinations in the service of Radha and Krishna.

“ Lord Brahmā and Nārada Muni Come for Darshan Every Evening!” SPECIAL ARTICLE

I
t is quite meaningful that Śrīla Prabhupāda planted the seeds of bhakti at Conway Hall in September 1969, and today, just a few minutes’ walk away from Conway Hall, devotees effectively continue his mission at Studio 108. During one of the large public programs at Conway Hall, an extraordinary mystical event took place. Yamuna Devi was leading the kirtan when Śrīla Prabhupāda suddenly interrupted her over the microphone. With immense spiritual power, he started chanting a specific prayer: “Narada Muni bhajaya vina radhika-ramana-name”. The energy in the auditorium shifted instantly. Devotees and guests began leaping high into the air and running around the room in spiritual ecstasy. The next morning, Yamuna asked Prabhupāda about the intensity of the previous night. Prabhupāda looked at her and asked, “Didn’t you see? Nārada Muni came to our kirtan.” When she replied that she hadn’t seen him, he firmly stated, “Yes, Nārada Muni came.” After establishing the temple in December 1969, Srila Prabhupāda returned to London in July 1972 for a busy tour that included

the Rathayatra festival and meetings with prominent figures such as George Harrison. The temple was rapidly expanding. Much of the devotional fervor was due to George Harrison’s acclaimed 1970 album, All Things Must Pass. For many Prabhupāda disciples, Bhakta George was their Vartmapradarshaka-guru (the one who shows the path to Kṛṣṇa bhakti). On arriving at the 7 Bury Place Temple, he offered his obeisances to his beloved RādhāLondonīśvara and Jagannath, Baladeva, and Subhadra. After greeting the deities, Prabhupāda sat on his newly upholstered green-and-gold-trimmed vyāsāsana. Padmalocana Prabhu, who worked on the vyāsāsana to the last minute, tells the story of what happened: “So Prabhupāda came, and immediately everyone was offering obeisances, and I was completely overwhelmed; I’d never seen such a personality. I immediately had extreme emotions of crying and was quite overwhelmed. After Prabhupāda took

Then just as he finished the lecture, he mentioned something about the vyāsāsana, “Oh, this is very nice.” Then he went upstairs. Shortly after going to his room, a devotee called down to me: “Oh, Prabhupāda is saying something about the vyāsāsana; you should come up.” So, I went up, and Prabhupāda said, “I want two more vyāsāsanas.” He said, “Yes, they should be small size for the altar because everyday Lord Brahmā and Nārada Muni come here for the evening arati, and there should be a vyāsāsana for each of them.” I think we finished them on that same day, and the next morning they were placed on the altar. Prabhupada was very appreciative when seeing them for the first time. He said, “Yes, yes, they should always stay and be here next to RādhāLondonīśvara.” Then he told everyone again, “Everyday Lord Brahmā and Nārada Muni come here for the evening arati.”
to Śrīla Prabhupāda. Lord Brahmā is the first recipient of divine knowledge in this universe, and Nārada Muni is the great transcendental preacher who carries and inspires bhakti in every corner of creation. The tradition of keeping their vyāsāsanas on the altar is therefore not symbolic – it is a living affirmation that all devotion offered here flows through this sacred lineage. This creates a unique spiritual atmosphere of exceptional depth and authenticity, rarely found elsewhere. The flourishing of Studio 108, the exquisite worship of Śrī Śrī RādhāLondonīśvara, and the dynamic preaching mission in central London – now including 7 Bury Place – stand as tangible expressions of the continuing mercy of Lord Brahmā and Nārada Muni.
In Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavism, all worship is received through the living current of disciplic succession (paramparā). The lineage followed in ISKCON descends from Lord Brahmā to Nārada Muni, to Vyāsadeva, and continues unbroken down

Russian-Speaking Community The Russian-speaking community at ISKCON London had an inspiring and active period from January to May, with devotees engaged in spiritual practice, education, festivals, harinama, retreats, and service. In early January, the community hosted a retreat with Patri dasa, welcoming both Russian- and English-speaking participants. The retreat included inspiring talks, interactive workshops, and joyful harinama in Portsmouth. The community also celebrated Gaura Purnima at the Earls Court premises, with a special abhisheka for Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai Deities, followed by the Vyasa Puja celebration of Chaitanya Chandra Charan Prabhu. A major milestone was the 15th Anniversary of the Russianspeaking Yatra, commemorated with a special visit from Radha Govinda dasa and Moksha Rupa devi dasi at a rented hall in Ealing. A home namahatta programme
was also held with them, including the installation of Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai Deities. Regular harinama sankirtans continued under the leadership of Prahlad Priya dasa, with the participation of kirtaneers such as Sakshi Gopal dasa (ACBSP) and Adi Guru dasa. The community also held vibrant kirtan melas at Earls Court, including one with Gaurasundara dasa, and another successful gathering on 31st May attended by many devotees and special guests. In early May, the community hosted a four-day retreat, “Escape from Suffering, Search for Pleasure. Where is God?”, outside London with special guests Akshayananda dasa and Rasalila devi dasi from Paris. More than 60 devotees attended, deepening their spiritual practice through uplifting association. Alongside these events, devotees continued their regular service at ISKCON London Radha-Krishna

Temple, including cooking for the Sunday Love Feast, Deity cooking, garland-making, Tulasi service, kirtan, temple decorations, sweet preparation, and logistics. Spiritual education and devotee care remained central to the yatra’s development, with regular weekly programmes, mentorship meetings for ladies and men, Saturday online Bhagavad-gita studies, and daily morning japa meditation. Educational programmes also continued through the London Spiritual Academy in Russian and Ukrainian, led by Vrajendra Kishor dasa. The community was delighted to see two devotees receive initiation, marking a beautiful step in their devotional journey. Ladies from the yatra also danced beautifully for the pleasure of Lord Jagannath, Lord Baladeva, and Lady Subhadra at the London Rathayatra festival, bringing joyful devotion in a lively, colourcoordinated presentation.

▶ OUR JOURNEY OF CAMPAIGNS BE A GARDENER
BHADRA
As gardeners in Lord Caitanya’s mission, devotees distributed the seeds of bhakti through the Caitanya-caritamrita.
On Gaura Purnima, devotees launched the Bhadra Campaign, the largest book distribution campaign of the year.
Despite several brahmacaris being away in India, the congregation enthusiastically stepped forward and rose to the challenge.
To mark ISKCON’s 60th Anniversary, the community accepted the challenge of distributing 600 Srimad Bhagavatam sets before Bhadra Purnima (26th September 2026).

▶ MONTHLY SANKIRTAN FESTIVALS Touching the Pavement Together Every month concludes with the Monthly Sankirtan Festival (MSF), bringing devotees together for book distribution, association, deeper friendship, and welcoming newcomers to Sankirtan. Since January 2026, the community has gathered monthly for this cherished event. JANUARY • NITAI MSF A joyful start to the year with enthusiastic participation and encouraging feedback. FEBRUARY • GAURA MSF Devotees continued building momentum and inspiring each other through Sankirtan. MARCH • SPECIAL VAISESIKA PRABHU MSF With Vaisesika dasa, Book Distribution Minister of ISKCON. Devotees received personal training, practical guidance and inspiration for book distribution. APRIL • NRSIMHA MSF An energetic and inspiring festival centred around book distribution and devotee association. MAY • WEMBLEY MSF For a change of location, devotees travelled to Wembley and associated with the Bhaktivedanta Manor community while distributing books together.

▶ MARATHONS – THE NEW NORMAL While the December Srila Prabhupada Marathon remains a cherished tradition throughout ISKCON, ISKCON London Sankirtan has embraced year-round marathons.
NRSIMHA MARATHON During the eight days leading up to Nrsimha Caturdasi, devotees enthusiastically exceeded all expectations. Alongside distribution, devotees participated in a daily Sloka Challenge to remain spiritually inspired throughout the marathon.

JAGANNATHA MARATHON In the seven days leading up to London Rathayatra, devotees once again surpassed their goals. During this marathon, devotees learned and recited five verses from Bhagavatam Mahima Stotra as part of the Sloka Challenge.

Patron Care Patrons’ Appreciation Dinner On Saturday 9th May, temple patrons were warmly welcomed to the annual Patrons’ Appreciation Dinner, kindly hosted at the home of long-time devotee and supporter Anil Agarwal. The evening was a special opportunity to thank our patrons for their ongoing support of Srila Prabhupada’s mission at ISKCON London. Temple President Dayal Mora dasa shared updates on recent developments and future plans for the temple, including 7 Bury Place. Other departments also offered inspiring highlights from their services and projects. The evening was made even more memorable by the presence of Indradyumna Swami as guest of honour. Maharaja led an uplifting kirtan, creating a joyful and devotional atmosphere of gratitude, community, and shared purpose.

Following the re-acquisition of 7 Bury Place, devotees gathered for a joyful Maha Harinama on Sunday 11th January, celebrating this historic milestone for ISKCON London in the best way we know how – by chanting the holy names.

Devotees chanted, danced, and flooded central London with transcendental sound, offering their gratitude for the return of this sacred place: the original home of Sri Sri Radha-Londonisvara and a site personally sanctified by Srila Prabhupada’s presence, instructions, and pastimes. The celebration was a beautiful expression of gratitude, unity, and devotion, as devotees came together to honour the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to the future of this sacred space.
Since the purchase, several of Srila Prabhupada’s disciples have also visited Bury Place, expressing their happiness and appreciation that this spiritually significant site has been re-acquired for Srila Prabhupada’s mission.

Commemorative Plaque Installed in Honour of the Ladies UK Sankirtan Party
A special commemorative plaque installation ceremony was held at ISKCON London Radha-Krishna Temple on Friday 23rd January, honouring the devoted service of the Ladies UK Sankirtan Party, whose dedicated book distribution between 1977 and 1981 helped finance and support the construction of the temple. The gathering was a heartfelt opportunity to express gratitude and remember the dedication, sacrifice, and devotional spirit of these pioneering devotees, who played such a vital role in the history of our temple.

It was a wonderfully inspiring event, filled with remembrance, gratitude, and deep appreciation for devotees whose service continues to inspire generations.
ISKCON Prison Preaching – Bringing Hope Behind Bars ISKCON Prison Preaching is a compassionate outreach programme dedicated to bringing Krishna consciousness to inmates across UK prisons. Through books, courses, guidance, and mentoring, the team offers men and women behind bars the opportunity to discover spiritual life, build
a steady sadhana, find hope, and experience personal transformation. In April 2026, the team made its first visit of the year to HMP Liverpool in North West England. They chanted japa with the inmates, spoke about the process of bhakti-yoga, and distributed japa beads, introductory booklets, and books including Bhagavad-gita As It Is. Sets of Sri Caitanyacaritamṛta and SrimadBhagavatam were also donated to the prison library, along with copies of Back to Godhead magazine. The response was very encouraging, with most inmates enjoying the japa session and many signing up for a correspondence version of the Bhakti Steps course. More programmes are planned with Candramauli Swami.

London Mellows Upcoming 10th Anniversary Weekend The London Mellows Annual Kirtan Weekend was established in 2016, the year of ISKCON’s 50th Anniversary, as a heartfelt offering to Srila Prabhupada and the devotee community. rabhupāda: ...but I’m not very much fond of reception. I want to know how people give reception to this movement. That is my concern. Devotees: Haribol! Reporter: How long will you be in England, sir? Prabhupāda: England, I think I am coming for the second time. Last time, in 1967, when I was going to India, I stayed here for two days only and then went away. Practically, this is the first time I have come. Reporter: And for how long now? Prabhupāda: That I do not know. Devotees: Haribol!

Prabhupāda: I have got so many fathers and mothers to take care. So as long as they keep me, I can be. Mukunda: If any of you gentlemen have questions, you can ask them of Prabhupāda. Reporter: Yes. Can I ask if this is a very special welcome for you, or is this a performance that you go through each day? Prabhupāda: No. Wherever I go, I have got my disciples. In the Western countries I have got now about twenty centers, especially in America, Canada. So the American boys are very enthusiastic. I think... Devotees: Haribol! Prabhupāda: I think I got in Los
Angeles and San Francisco a very great reception. And in Rathayātrā festival about ten thousand boys and girls followed me for seven miles. Devotees: Haribol! Reporter: What do you try and teach, sir? Prabhupāda: I am trying to teach what you have forgotten.

Devotees: Haribol! Hare Kṛṣṇa! [laughter] Reporter: Which is what? Prabhupāda: That is God. Some of you are saying there is no God, some of you are saying God is dead, and some of you are saying God is impersonal or void. These are all nonsense. I want to teach all these nonsense that there is God. That is my mission. Any nonsense can come to me, I shall prove that there is God. That is my Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement. It is a challenge to the atheistic people. There is God. As we are sitting here face to face, you can see God face to face. If you are sincere and if you are serious, that is possible. Unfortunately, we are trying to forget God; therefore we are embracing so many miseries of life. So I am simply preaching that you have Kṛṣṇa consciousness and be happy. Don’t be swayed away by these nonsense waves from māyā, or illusion. That is my request. Devotees: Haribol! Reporter: Is this singing essential to the sustenance of your faith? Prabhupāda: This singing is the process for clearing the dust accumulated on the heart. Our relationship with God is eternal. It cannot be broken. But due to the contact of māyā we are trying to forget Him. But if we chant this holy name of God, Hare Kṛṣṇa, then māyā will not act, and we shall very quickly understand what is our relationship with God. That is the process. Ceto-darpaṇa-mārjanam
[Cc. Antya 20.12]. [“ ‘Let there be all victory for the chanting of the holy name of Lord Kṛṣṇa, which can cleanse the mirror of the heart and stop the miseries of the blazing fire of material existence. That chanting is the waxing moon that spreads the white lotus of good fortune for all living entities. It is the life and soul of all education. The chanting of the holy name of Kṛṣṇa expands the blissful ocean of transcendental life. It gives a cooling effect to everyone and enables one to taste full nectar at every step.’] The Sanskrit word is “cleansing the dirty heart.’’ The dirty heart. In the Bhagavad-gītā it is said, na māṁ duṣkṛtino mūḍhāḥ prapadyante narādhamāḥ [Bg. 7.15]. [Those miscreants who are grossly foolish, lowest among mankind, whose knowledge is stolen by illusion, and who partake of the atheistic nature of demons, do not surrender unto Me.] Those who are miscreants, rascals, and lowest of the mankind, and taken all knowledge, and atheistic class of men, they do not know what is God. Others, those who are virtuous, those who are inquisitive, those who are wise, they will try, and they will understand what is God. So my appeal to you is that you try to understand this movement, Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement. It is not a bogus movement. It is scientific, authorized. Any scientist, any philosopher, any logician may come and we shall prove that there
is God and we have got eternal relationship with God. So if you want to [be] happy, then you must take to this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement. Otherwise the human race is doomed. Harāv abhaktasya kuto mahad-guṇā [SB 5.18.12]. [All the demigods and their exalted qualities, such as religion, knowledge and renunciation, become manifest in the body of one who has developed unalloyed devotion for the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Vāsudeva. On the other hand, a person devoid of devotional service and engaged in material activities has no good qualities. Even if he is adept at the practice of mystic yoga or the honest endeavor of maintaining his family and relatives, he must be driven by his own mental speculations and must engage in the service of the Lord’s external energy. How can there be any good qualities in such a man?] Anyone who has no God consciousness, he has no qualification. However academically he may be very rich, he has no qualification. Manorathena asato dhāvato bahiḥ. His only qualification is mental concoction. Mental concoction. That’s all. He has no other qualification. So we reject all these nonsense. We simply accept a sincere soul who wants to dedicate his life for God’s service. So it is not easy thing. These boys and girls who are following me, they are very elevated. They are

not ordinary boys and girls. They have taken to Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Their quality is greater than any mundane erudite scholar. It is a challenge. Yasyāsti bhaktir bhagavaty akiñcanā sarvair guṇais tatra samāsate surāḥ [SB 5.18.12].

Anyone who has developed Kṛṣṇa consciousness, love of God, all good qualities will automatically develop in him. All good qualities. Test any of our students, how they are good, how they are advanced. Test it. Bring anyone in this world and test any one of our boys, you’ll find how much difference there is in their character, in their feeling, in their consciousness. So this is the only thing. If you want peaceful society, then you must make them God conscious, Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Everything will be automatically solved. Otherwise your so-called United Nation will not help. way. Can you tell me what you think of him? Prabhupāda: I do not know what is Billy Graham, but I am following the Vedic principle, Bhagavad-gītā as it is. Kṛṣṇa says, sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja [Bg. 18.66]. [Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reaction. Do not fear.] God says that “You give up all nonsense occupation, simply surrender unto Me, and I take charge of you and give you protection.’’ This is our philosophy. Reporter: Can I ask you some questions about your general attitudes on things going on around us? For instance, what do you feel about man going to the moon? [laughter] Prabhupāda: This is simply a waste of time. I already commented on this when I was in San Francisco. The reporters asked me this very question. I flatly replied that it is simply waste of time and waste of money. That’s all. [laughter] Reporter: What about something very much nearer to ourselves here in this country, and that is a war or civil disturbance is going on [indistinct]... Prabhupāda: Well, war is going on. Reporter: ...between Christians? Prabhupāda: No. We are not Christian nor Hindu nor Muslim. We are God’s servant. That’s all. Anyone who is God’s servant, there is no disagreement. And when one
is māyā’s servant, servant of māyā, illusion, there is disagreement. So it doesn’t matter. Our test is, sa vai puṁsāṁ paro dharmo yato bhaktir adhokṣaje [SB 1.2.6] [The supreme occupation [dharma] for all humanity is that by which men can attain to loving devotional service unto the transcendent Lord. Such devotional service must be unmotivated and uninterrupted to completely satisfy the self.] That system of religion is first class which teaches how to love God. That’s all. It doesn’t matter whether it is Christian religion, Muhammadan religion or Hindu religion. We shall see. If the follower of the religion has learned how to love God, then his religion is perfect. Otherwise it is useless. Reporter: But do you not think it’s worth going to such places as Ireland and trying to talk to the people out there to stop warring? Prabhupāda: Now, this is our talking, that the first-class religion is that which teaches how to love God. Try to understand this. This is the simple formula. Reporter: Yes, but don’t you think it’s worth going over there to try and help them? Prabhupāda: We shall see. Suppose you are Christian. If you have developed your sense of loving God, then you are perfect, your religion is perfect. But instead of loving God, if you have developed your sense of loving dog, then you have wasted your time. That is our test. Yes. You want to ask
without you? Prabhupāda: They are managing. They have... My sons are grown up; they are earning. My wife is also rich man’s daughter. She has got some property. So they have no problem. Reporter: Do you ever see them at all?
any questions? Reporter: I think the lady wants to take you away somewhere. [Prabhupāda chuckles] Reporter (2): I think that the room is up. Prabhupāda: All right. Reporter: I should just like to know how old you are, sir. Prabhupāda: I am? I am seventyfour years old. I was born in 1896. Reporter: Whereabouts? Prabhupāda: In India, Calcutta. Reporter: Are you married, sir? Prabhupāda: Yes. I have got my sons, grandsons, my wife, all living, but I have no connection with them. I am a sannyāsī, renounced order. I have got elderly sons. Reporter: You say you have no connection with your family?
Prabhupāda: No. I cannot see. I cannot see, at least, my wife. But if my sons and daughters come to see me, they can see. But my wife cannot see me. That is stopped. That is the system of sannyāsa. A sannyāsī cannot meet his wife again. That is renouncement. Renouncement means renouncing connection with woman, or renouncing sex life. That is renouncement.
sannyāsa. I have dedicated my life for Kṛṣṇa. Reporter: I see. Prabhupāda: That is the Vedic system, that certain portion of your life you should simply dedicate for God. That is called sannyāsa.
Reporter: Coming this way, sir? Prabhupāda: Yes. [cameras clicking]
Reporter: To do this, did you have to divorce?
Reporters: Thank you very much.
Prabhupāda: No. There is no question of. We have no... We do not know what is divorce. In our country there is no divorce, at least in Hindu law. Yes. Wife and husband, once combined, that is for life. There is no question of separation, in all circumstances.

Sunday Feast Programme The Sunday Love Feast community has enjoyed a spiritually uplifting start to 2026, bringing devotees and guests together each week for kirtan, Krishna conscious talks, warm association, and prasadam in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.
The year began with the theme “New Year, New Beginnings,” setting a positive tone for the months ahead. Many inspiring speakers were welcomed, including Bhakti Prachar Parivrajak Swami, who spoke on deepening heartfelt spiritual connection, and SB Keshava Swami, whose talk “Find Your Flow” offered practical wisdom on balance, clarity, and purpose. In the lead-up to Gaura Purnima, Yogesvara Gopinatha dasa led a deeply meditative Lila Kirtan, helping devotees enter the mood of Lord Chaitanya’s pastimes.
A special Mother’s Day offering gave devotees the opportunity to express their devotion to Srimati Radharani through simple and meaningful gestures. Programmes with Candramauli Swami and Yugala Kishore dasa also continued to inspire the community to deepen their bhakti while navigating the demands of daily life.

May brought further opportunities for spiritual association and service. The month began with the association of Pancharatna dasa (ACBSP), who shared heartfelt memories and personal pastimes of Srila Prabhupada.
Sunday Love Feast volunteers also took part in Gundica Marjana, cleansing the temple in preparation for the arrival of Lord Jagannath, Lord Baladeva, and Lady Subhadra after Their rest at Bhaktivedanta Manor, and assisted with various services during the London Rathayatra festival.
During the auspicious month of Purushottama, Sunday Love Feast guests were also blessed with the opportunity to offer a ghee lamp to Sri Sri RadhaLondonisvara, receiving Their special mercy and blessings. It has been wonderful to see regular attendees and many newcomers joining each week, and the team looks forward to welcoming many more devotees and guests in the months ahead.

Vaishnavi Ministry Bhakti Blossoms Festival It has been an exciting start to the year for Bhakti Blossoms. Our first festival of 2026 took place in April, bringing together a vibrant gathering of 40 Vaishnavis for an afternoon of connection, inspiration, and spiritual nourishment. The festival began with lively kirtan, followed by a heartfelt presentation by Amala Manjari devi dasi on the vision of Bhakti Blossoms and its aim to create supportive spaces for Vaishnavis to grow together in bhakti. Playful Krishna conscious games brought laughter and friendly competition, while breakout groups gave everyone the opportunity to introduce themselves and connect in smaller circles. The afternoon concluded with delightful prasadam and warm association. For those seeking companionship, deeper spiritual understanding, or simply a nurturing environment, Bhakti Blossoms offers a beautiful opportunity to become part of a growing community – a place to blossom together in a harmonious and uplifting atmosphere.

The aim of this department is to provide support, care, confidence and advice to the Vaishnavis who serve at ISKCON London. This includes all female residents, mentees, volunteers and employees. The recent appearance of the Bhakti Blossoms community, the burgeoning Vaishnavi temple ashram, plus the prospect of a Contemporary Vaishnavi Ashram (CVA) on the horizon, are just some of the many clear indications of the proactive need for such a supportive body. The Vaishnavi Care Committee (VCC) is a brahminical advisory body whose sole purpose is to improve and maximise the potent spiritual experience of every Vaishnavi connected to ISKCON London. The body acts as an interface between the Vaishnavis serving at the temple and the Temple President as we cooperate together for the benefit of the devotees who have taken shelter at the lotus feet of Sri Sri Radha-Londonisvara.
