It also comes as an ideal moment to reflect upon the year just gone, the achievements accomplished, the targets met, and progress made.

Some of us however may be seeing every day in the news, and before our eyes, how the world around us seems to be worsening and becoming more problematic. The struggles seem to be never ending and thus sometimes we may feel a sense of hopelessness.

Srila Prabhupada quipped in a letter to Atreya Rsi dated 4 February 1972: “The devotee is always pessimistic about the material world, but he is very optimistic about the spiritual life!”

Fortunately for us, having discovered ISKCON London and started to render service there, we’ve understood that the miseries of the material world can no longer cause us to feel hopeless. Rather we feel a growing sense of happiness in our bhakti practice, especially through our appreciation of the selfless service of other devotees.

Enclosed is a collection of updates from different departments of our famous temple from the past year’s activities. By appreciating and glorifying the devotees of the Lord, our bhakti creeper grows very quickly, leaving the weeds of criticism and envy behind, and finally produces the tastiest fruit imaginable, the fruit of love of Krishna.

7 Bury Place Re-Purchased

The Original Home of Sri Sri Radha-Londonisvara

ISKCON London is deeply grateful to share the joyful news that 7 Bury Place, the site of the movement’s original London temple, has been successfully re-purchased at auction. This milestone has brought great joy to the devotees who were instrumental in establishing ISKCON in London and opening the temple, senior leaders within the movement, and the wider community across generations.

A HISTORIC HOMECOMING

ISKCON London traces its roots to 1968, when Srila Prabhupada sent three American couples to establish Krishna consciousness in the UK. With the support of well-wishers including George Harrison, who cosigned the original lease, 7 Bury Place became the first home of ISKCON in London. Located near the British Museum in Bloomsbury, the building soon became a focal point for devotional life.

In December 1969, Srila Prabhupada formally inaugurated London’s first Radha-Krishna temple there and installed Sri Sri Radha-Londonisvara, the first full-size Radha-Krishna Deities in ISKCON.

Our hope is to transform it once again into a living, breathing centre of Krishna consciousness, an ISKCON tirtha, place of pilgrimage for devotees who have only read about ISKCON’s heritage and the pioneering work of the original devotees who established Krishna consciousness in the UK.”

Although the Deities and the congregation later moved to Soho Street, 7 Bury Place has always remained a sacred place in the hearts of devotees.

LOOKING AHEAD

The re-purchase of 7 Bury Place marks a full-circle moment in ISKCON London’s history. Reflecting on this milestone, Dayal Mora dasa, Temple President of ISKCON London, shared:

“This place is a tirtha where Srila Prabhupada began his work in London. By Krishna’s grace, we have been given the opportunity to protect and restore this sacred heritage for future generations.”

Plans for the building will continue to take shape, honouring ISKCON London’s roots while supporting its future mission.

To enable the completion of this historic purchase, a fundraising campaign was launched to raise 50% of the purchase price by mid-January 2026.

Bhakti Steps

ISKCON temples, as envisioned by Srila Prabhupada, are not merely places of worship but dynamic spiritual training grounds meant to awaken Krishna consciousness and empower individuals to live a devotional life beyond the temple walls. They serve as spiritual launching pads, equipping devotees to carry devotion into their homes, workplaces, and daily responsibilities.

At ISKCON London, this vision is beautifully embodied through the Bhakti Steps programme – an authentic, structured, and deeply practical pathway for spiritual growth. Grounded in sastra (scriptures), nourished by sadhana (spiritual practice), and strengthened through sadhu-sanga (association of devotees), Bhakti Steps guides participants step-by-step toward a lasting relationship with Krishna. Many devotees have already benefited, experiencing meaningful transformation and steady spiritual progress.

Participants become part of a vibrant spiritual family enriched by chanting, scriptural study, honouring prasadam, and shared service. With over 20 weekly sangas serving students, families, professionals, and devotees from diverse backgrounds, the programme fosters strong friendships and unwavering support. Recent achievements include spiritual initiations, pujari training, participation in sankirtan festivals, and successful completion of structured modules.

Broadcast Services

The Broadcast Services team, consisting of 10 dedicated volunteers, connects devotees around the world to temple life by livestreaming mangala arati, Deity greetings, Srimad-Bhagavatam and

Caitanya-caritamrta classes, evening programmes, Sunday programmes, and full-day festival coverage on Mayapur.tv and YouTube, bringing the temple experience wherever devotees may be.

Special appreciation is offered to Sitapreeti devi dasi, who peacefully left her body in August 2025 at the age of 74. For 18 years, while based in Glasgow, she lovingly livestreamed the daily mangal arati darshan, continuing this sacred service with unwavering devotion until her final days. Her steady dedication and selfless offering have left a lasting and cherished gift for the devotee community. Heartfelt prayers are offered for her onward journey.

Sincere thanks are extended to Ross Burroughs for automating the mangala arati broadcasts, and to Akhirani for livestreaming festival days and managing the ISKCONLondonLive YouTube channel.

Gratitude is extended to the entire Broadcast Services team for their continued dedication in bringing the temple to devotees everywhere.

Facilities & Maintenance

The rear wall restoration project has been successfully completed after six weeks of challenging work, marking a major facilities achievement.

A skilled three-person team of professional abseilers carried out repairs in areas inaccessible to scaffolding, addressing damage that had gone untouched for over 20–30 years. All cracks were carefully plastered, permanently resolving the long-standing leak and dampness in the ladies’ ashram bedroom.

The wall was then repainted with high-quality protective coating, and new guttering and drainpipes were installed. Despite extreme heat and difficult conditions, the team’s expertise and dedication delivered excellent results, greatly improving the building’s durability, appearance, and overall comfort.

Festivals

Festivals continue to be the heartbeat of the community, bringing devotees, guests, and families together in an atmosphere of joy and devotion. Throughout 2025, festivals were well attended and deeply inspiring, featuring beautiful darshans, special talks, uplifting dramas, soul-stirring harinams and kirtans, and sumptuous prasadam feasts.

A major highlight was the first-ever all-day Janmastami celebration at Soho Square Gardens, with the full closure of Soho Street, allowing the Holy Names and festivities to reach thousands in central London. This marked a significant milestone in publicly celebrating our largest festival of the year.

Sincere gratitude is offered to Thirupati Gauranga dasa, Mukunda dasa, the Govinda’s team and volunteers for the festival prasadam feasts, and Champakalata Priya devi dasi and her team for the beautiful Temple Room decorations, as well as to the approximately 100 volunteers whose dedicated service ensured the smooth running of each festival.

Finance Team

The Finance Team, made up of six devotees, continued to support the temple’s financial operations throughout the year, with members taking on additional responsibilities and expanding their accounting skills. The annual audit was successfully completed in August with a clear report.

In July, the team took part in a team-building visit to Ahimsa Farm, a long-standing supplier of ahimsa products to the temple, enjoying the opportunity to meet the devotees and learn about the farm’s service.

During the Marathon, team members also joined the book table for a few hours, expressing heartfelt appreciation for the tireless dedication of the sankirtana devotees.

Food For Life

Food for Life continues its inspiring service of distributing prasadam to the homeless and those in need, with dedicated volunteers serving six days a week in the evenings. Through a new partnership with Food For All, meals are now supplied from the Euston kitchen, ensuring a steady and generous offering. Each meal typically includes a nourishing main dish such as rice, curry or khichdi, along with cake and fruit. The team now serves around 600 meals every week, making a meaningful difference in many lives. In 2025, the team welcomed Danny Foster to manage their Instagram outreach and celebrated their service with a joyful community gathering featuring music and prasadam.

INTERVIEW WITH DANNY FOSTER

Interviewed by Dayal Mora dasa, Temple President

How long have you been involved with Food for Life?

I’ve probably donated to Food for Life (FFL) for about 10 years. And during that time, I’ve always wanted to actively serve. So active service, serving every single week, is probably coming up to over a year now.

What do you enjoy about Food for Life, and why did you get involved?

What I love about FFL is that it’s a great service within London, and secondly for myself it allowed me to start devotional service from where I was in life. I think that FFL is a very active mission. Often people ask questions like, where is the divine in this situation? Why is there poverty? We can ask all these big questions, but also the question is, how can I help? How can I be the hands of Krishna here? Where am I serving? Where am I stepping up? And so what I love about FFL is it’s an opportunity to reconcile those questions with action.

How did you first meet the devotees?

I was meditating in different forms for many, many years. And probably about 15, 16 years ago, I would say my spiritual radar was on! I was walking down busy manic Oxford Street at Christmas time, everybody was getting their last-minute Christmas shopping and running around in the material world. And I just saw this orange glow on Oxford Street. It was a devotee with some books. I went up and I was like, so tell me! Tell me all about it! And it sort of went from there really. You don’t get these conversations in a nightclub or a pub or a bakery or wherever. It was the conversations that I was looking for really.

What were you doing in your life at that time?

I’m a singer for a living, so I was doing that as a job. But I was really at that time on a soul quest, I was looking for answers, I was a seeker, but part of me was in distress because I’d accumulated some material stuff but it hadn’t quite hit the mark. And then I was in a bit of a quandary. You can have these certain accolades, but somehow it’s not satisfying this motion within. So I was looking for answers but I couldn’t find them anywhere.

Do you feel Food for Life plays an important role in how the Hare Krishna movement interfaces with the world?

I think it’s fundamental, and one of the major things for me is what Prabhupada said in terms of the 10-mile radius around the temple in which nobody should go hungry. But I also think that other than the physical level, there is also the higher taste, my connection, my service or duty, my dharma. It’s more than just serving food, it’s showing up with a loving kindness in that interface. So I do think that in terms of interfacing with the world, FFL is so important for the Hare Krishna movement.

I think that so many people look and say, “look how kind these people are.” There isn’t so much kindness out there. So I think that without getting into the deep philosophy of that side, people just see. I have a phrase which is “attraction rather than promotion”. Krishna is all attractive and for me

it’s very pivotal because it’s one of the attractive aspects of Krishna consciousness.

Have there been any particularly powerful moments in your service?

One day there was a man and he had a sign that didn’t say “homeless and hungry” but rather “homeless and lonely.” And this individual sent Christmas cards to the devotees who are serving and wrote “Thank you so much for everything.”

Many people say that they don’t know where they would be without us.

Sometimes when I serve, I try to dissolve the table between us because with each plate I have the opportunity to practice handing the plate with love to another soul. That realisation has completely changed the way that I serve. Now every time we go out, it’s not just about distribution of food, it’s about distributing it as an offering. And just by practicing that mood, together with diving more into the philosophy, I can feel the transformation. It’s very interesting.

How has Food for Life improved recently?

Over the years, I think the Walk against Hunger to raise funds for the van was good. The electric van gave a huge improvement in the way that it can be accessed and the way that we can get around. One thing is I’ve felt called to duty to somehow reinvigorate the FFL sanga, of doing events and get the volunteers to come together, so I think that that may be a new element that’s starting to emerge

How could the team develop further?

I think developing the FFL sanga is important. The

first gathering was beautiful and showed the power of bringing volunteers together and I think that moving forward it will be nice to do that more. We recently did an event with Radhika dasa, it was a big event and it was nice to see people there and so many coming forward to volunteer for FFL. What I would like to see happen, please Krishna, is an annual kirtan concert for FFL where people come and support FFL with donations through tickets etc.

Sounds fantastic. So now Food for Life is working in tandem with Food for All. How has that been going?

I think that it makes sense and it’s a beautiful partnership. Parasuram Prabhu is obviously a wonderful devotee who’s been doing that service for many, many years. I love the way that they engage the community and the corporate world and bring everyone together. The main thing there, as for FFL, is it is about distributing love. That’s a very strong message – distributing love.

Finally, who are your heroes in Krishna consciousness?

That’s a very good question. Kadamba Kanana Swami was the first Swami that I ever came across. There was something about his energy, and he was very helpful, cutting edge, and he told many stories that were like access to the reality of the world but at the same time transcendental.

And also Kesava Swami. He’s transmitting his Krishna consciousness and communicating in a way that’s accessible for a new generation. And to hear it through a different way like “Wisdom that Breathes” is very inspiring.

Danny Foster is a British singer and former member of the pop group Hearsay, formed in 2001 through the UK reality show Popstars. Born in London, he rose to fame as the group’s lead male vocalist, with their debut single Pure and Simple and self-titled album both reaching number one in the UK charts. Following the group’s breakup in 2002, Danny pursued a solo music career. While largely out of the public spotlight in recent years, he remains a recognisable figure from the Popstars era of British pop music.

As 2025 drew to a close, Govinda’s reflects with gratitude on a year filled with achievements, growth, and meaningful connection through the distribution of pure vegetarian and vegan prasadam across London.

By Krishna’s mercy and the dedicated efforts of the team, Govinda’s surpassed 26,000 Google reviews with an outstanding 4.8 rating, a testament to consistent quality in taste, presentation, overall experience, customer care, and heartfelt service. This is a significant increase from 2022, when Govinda’s had around 1,300 reviews with a 4.3 rating.

Govinda’s was honoured as a finalist at both the London Curry Awards 2025 and Master Chef 2025 in the pure vegetarian category.

Govinda’s was also featured by Gary Eats, who described it as the most affordable Indian restaurant he has ever visited, awarding a perfect 10 out of 10 for exceptional value, flavourful food, and warm, friendly service.

In 2025, Govinda’s introduced several new items:

In January 2026, an authentic South Indian breakfast, including dosas and idlis, will be added to the menu.

OPENING OF THE SECOND BRANCH – HOLBORN

Govinda’s was delighted to open a much-desired second branch in Holborn in August 2025, inaugurated by Radhanath Swami, Gaur Gopal dasa, Gauranga dasa, and Jay Shetty. The new location provides a calmer dining space and extends Govinda’s reach.

EXTERNAL CATERING

Catering continued to flourish, with 114 events served across the year, from weddings to community gatherings. A particularly special moment was serving at a devotee wedding in October. The couple’s appreciation for authentic prasadam and their warm feedback reminded us of the true purpose behind this service. Witnessing prasadam at the heart of such a sacred and joyous celebration was a beautiful reminder of how food offered with devotion can touch lives in meaningful ways.

Nurturing Young Hearts

ISKCON London’s Krishna Club provides a vibrant and nurturing environment where children can flourish spiritually, learn timeless values, and develop strong character rooted in the teachings of Srila Prabhupada.

Through joyful learning, creativity, and devotion, Krishna Club supports children in cultivating kindness, respect, confidence, and inner happiness.

In 2025, the Krishna Club team extended its offering to include:

Five pots decorated for the Panihati festival, auctioned to support ahimsamilk offerings for the Deities

A dedicated children’s group kirtan slot at the London Mellows kirtan festival

A children’s tent in Soho Square Gardens on Janmastami

A drama, “The Gopis Attracted by the Flute”, performed in the Temple Room on Janmastami

A children’s half-day Summer Festival in the Seminar Room

A three-hour children’s kirtan event in the Temple Room

Sessions run every Sunday, with in-person classes at the temple (9.45am to 11.30am) facilitated by Mani Manjari devi dasi and online Zoom sessions (9.30am to 10.30am) facilitated by Devaki devi dasi, offering flexibility for families.

Children take part in engaging activities including bhajans and prayers, chanting, storytelling from the Bhagavad-gita, Srimad-Bhagavatam, and Caitanyacaritamrta, arts and crafts, and group discussions that bring spiritual teachings to life.

These opportunities were open not only to registered Krishna Club students, but to all children in the community, allowing them to actively contribute to temple celebrations with confidence and joy.

The year concluded with the second annual Krishna Conscious Winter Wonderland, where children enjoyed a variety of activities and had the opportunity to meet Krishna in Krishna’s Grotto and receive gifts.

Krishna Club, along with its associated events and activities, continues to be a loving space where children feel welcomed, inspired, and connected to the wider devotee community.

London Community for Vaisnava Marriage (LCVM)

Strengthening Vaisnava Relationships & Community

As LCVM reflects on the past year, there is deep gratitude for a period dedicated to connection, guidance, and nurturing meaningful relationships rooted in Vaisnava values.

Throughout the year, LCVM has continued its service to individuals and families within the devotee community by offering a safe, respectful, and spiritually grounded space for marriageminded devotees. Through guidance, one-to-one support, and ongoing dialogue, LCVM has helped devotees navigate one of life’s most important journeys with care, responsibility, and faith.

LCVM is currently developing a dedicated database and website, which will make it easier for individuals to access information and engage with its services. Alongside this, LCVM continues to offer personal matchmaking support, recognising the importance of discretion, sensitivity, and individual circumstances in this process.

As these platforms are still a work in progress, the community’s patience is kindly appreciated. Further information and updates will be shared in the coming months.

None of this progress would be possible without the trust and encouragement of the devotee community and the sincere efforts of those serving behind the scenes. Pujari Department

APPOINTMENT OF NEW HEAD PUJARI

In October, the Pujari Department marked an important transition by bidding farewell to Vamsivata dasa, who has taken the glorious step of serving his spiritual master full-time. His dedicated service as Head Pujari is gratefully acknowledged. ISKCON London warmly welcomed Rupanuga Bhakti dasa as the new Head Pujari. This appointment represents a significant step for the department, ensuring continuity and an ongoing commitment to maintaining and further raising high standards of cleanliness, worship, training, and devotional care. Under this continued focus, there is a strong emphasis on organisation and the careful maintenance of Deity jewellery, expensive kitchen equipment, and altar items.

TRAINING

Regular Pujari seminars continue to strengthen the quality and consciousness of Deity worship. Around 200 devotees have completed the training, which is compulsory for new Pujaris and strongly encouraged for existing ones. In September, a Garlands Team Sanga was held to support training and standards in garland making.

NEW OFFICE & STORAGE

The Pujari team has relocated to a new office on Tottenham Court Road, bringing all Deity items and outfits previously stored off-site in Barking into one central location close to the temple.

TULASI SEVA AND CARE

London under the dedicated care of Ratnavali devi dasi, Tulasi Pujari, and her team. Tulasi is cared for using organic methods and a devotional approach that emphasises both proper technique and personal connection. At least two Tulasi Seva seminars are held annually, open to all devotees – February focusing on spring and summer care, and September on autumn and winter needs. These seminars combine practical instruction with devotional understanding and include hands-on workshops and one-to-one guidance. There are even sessions for children.

RADHASTAMI FLOWER OUTFIT SERVICE

The Radhastami celebrations in 2025 were beautifully enhanced by a collaborative flower outfit service offered to Srimati Radharani, led by Vamsivata dasa. Many artistic devotees came together in a spirit of harmony to create a stunning floral outfit for Sri Sri Radha-Londonisvara and all the presiding Deities at ISKCON London, an offering that reflected deep devotion and careful craftsmanship.

AHIMSA MILK INITIATIVE

The department continues its progress towards using 100% ahimsa milk products in Deity worship. Currently, 50% of the ghee used is ahimsa ghee, supplied by Bhumi Farm in Ukraine, made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Russian-speaking yatra in London.

We are all very privileged to be connected to the Radha-Krishna Temple on Soho Street.

The most beautiful Sri Sri RadhaLondonisvara are exceedingly merciful to the many devotees who visit, serve, and worship here. There are several aspects of the Deity worship that make this temple unique and special in the ISKCON world. This essay will focus on one aspect, the sweet relationship between GiriGovardhana and Radha-Londonisvara.

This relationship creates a kind of spiritual “high technology” and demonstrates the sophisticated nature of Caitanya Vaishnava theology. We all know how to take advantage of material high-tech with our computers, smartphones, and quickly evolving Artificial Intelligence. The spiritual high-tech of Giriraja and Radha-Londonisvara is very subtle and

requires a little clarification to deepen our bhakti-rasa. All over ISKCON, large marble Radha-Krishna are worshiped through the functional Deities of smaller brass RadhaKrishna Deities.

At the Soho temple, the functional Deity is the stone (sila) from Govardhana Hill situated at the feet of Londonisvara.

This arrangement is unique among all ISKCON temples. After every Mangal arotik, the Govardhana sila is offered puja and abhisheka (ritual bathing), and Radha-Londonisvara accept that worship as Their own.

Govardhana Hill is a mysterious mountain of Divine Love, and any sila can potentially infuse an experience of intense bhakti within a devotee’s heart. Thus, “sila” does not mean stone in the mundane sense, but “divine manifestation through stone”; fully conscious, fully personal, fully Krishna. Silas from Govardhana Hill possess profound mystical

qualities. Depending on the mood of the worshiper, Govardhana silas are venerated as Krishna, as well as the topmost devotee of Krishna (Balarama or Radharani). For those devotees whose eyes are tinged with the ointment of Divine Love, any sila from Govardhana Hill has the potency to establish a transcendental mood of pure Vraja bhakti. Krishna consciousness is about diving ever deeper into the nectarian ocean of bhaktirasa. Giriraja facilitates this beatific expanse of limitless Love.

Devotional service is divided into two basic categories: Vaidhi-bhakti and Raganugabhakti. Vaidhi refers to following the rules and regulations as given by Srila Prabhupada to purify the consciousness of all mundane or material aspirations systematically. The exalted state of awareness known as Raganuga-bhakti, or spontaneous devotion, only manifests after many years or decades of dedicated practice of Vaidhi-bhakti. It’s not to be taken cheaply. Prabhupada gives many warnings about the premature and sentimental practice of Raganuga-bhakti.

However, when approached with humility and sincere intention, Giriraja can potentially awaken genuine Raganugabhakti (Vraja-bhakti) in the heart of the resolute sadhaka.

Prabhupada has instructed that initially, Radha and Krishna should be worshipped as Laksmi Narayana to establish a proper mood of respect and reverence. With time, the catalyst of Giri-Govardhana revealing His intimate and confidential relationship with Radha-Londonisvara also divulges the

pure mood of Radha-Krishna worship. This seemingly unpretentious stone, beautifully decorated at the feet of Londonisvara, is a piece of Vrindavan in Downtown London.

With determination and patience, Giriraja will energise our dormant love for RadhaKrishna within our heart of hearts. Let us utilise material high-tech in Krishna’s service, and take complete shelter in the sacred high-tech mountain of RadhaLondonisvara’s Love beaming through Giriraja’s smiling glance.

Radha’s Boutique

The year 2025 proved to be a transformational one for Radha’s Boutique.

A new manager, Alexandra, began her service, and Maria also joined the boutique staff. Alongside Caitanya Charanani devi dasi and Padma, the team introduced thoughtful improvements to the boutique’s design and organisation.

Several new products were added during the year, including branded japa bags, handcrafted Tulasi items, and other devotional gifts, enriching the experience for customers.

Looking ahead to 2026, Radha’s Boutique plans to expand its selection of books, clothing, accessories, Deity paraphernalia, and more. The team looks forward to continuing its service to the devotee community and customers in the coming year.

Russian-Speaking Community

2025 was both busy and productive for the Russian-speaking community, filled with meaningful activities and enriching spiritual experiences.

Regular Namahattas and Sunday programmes were held throughout the year, featuring esteemed guests both in person and online, including Sakshi Gopal dasa (ACBSP), Tribhangananda dasa (ACBSP), Govinda dasa, Madana Mohan dasa, Moksha Rupa devi dasi, Patri dasa, Radha Govinda dasa, and Sri Jishnu dasa, who generously shared their guidance and realisations.

The community celebrated its 14th anniversary on February 2nd and welcomed special guests from Moldova, Radha Govinda dasa and Moksha Rupa devi dasi. A transformative retreat with Patri dasa in April further strengthened devotional bonds.

Regular activities included Sunday programmes and kirtan melas at the Earls Court premises, cooking Sunday Feasts at the temple, harinamas, home namahattas, online and in-person courses in Russian and Ukrainian, group japa, and Srimad-Bhagavatam readings.

Pilgrimages to the Holy Dhama, participation in European festivals, and several initiations further enriched the Russian-speaking community. As the year concluded, preparations were underway for a New Year retreat (2nd to 5th January) with Patri dasa, themed “Forgiving Heart.”

SEVA Patron Care

ISKCON London is pleased to highlight the SEVA Patron Care initiative, launched in 2025, as a meaningful step in recognising and honouring the loving support of devotees and benefactors. SEVA stands for Support, Engagement, Value, and Appreciation, reflecting sincere gratitude for every individual whose generosity sustains the mission of devotion and service in London and beyond.

At its heart, SEVA is an expression of community spirit. The initiative offers patrons opportunities to remain connected with temple life through thoughtful engagement and support. Contributions through SEVA help preserve sacred worship, sustain daily temple activities, and strengthen the bonds that unite the spiritual family.

PATRONS’ APPRECIATION DINNER

On Saturday 10th May, temple patrons were invited to the annual Patrons’ Appreciation Dinner, kindly hosted at the home of long-time devotee and supporter Anil Agarwal. The evening began with kirtan led by local kirtaneers, followed by an informative presentation from Temple President Dayal Mora dasa, along with updates from various departments. A major highlight of the evening was the keynote address and uplifting kirtan by Indradyumna Swami, which deeply inspired all present. The programme concluded with devotees enjoying a sumptuous prasadam feast together.

Studio 108

Studio 108 experienced strong growth in 2025, hosting over 150 events and welcoming new guests at almost every programme. Many encounter Studio108 through book distribution, Eventbrite, and word of mouth. Alongside this, the number of regular attendees continued to rise, with around 40 people attending programmes weekly.

Several events had special guest speakers including BB Govinda Swami, Devamrita Swami, Indradyumna Swami, Jayadvaita Swami, and Radhanath Swami.

Many attendees have deepened their practice by joining Bhakti Steps groups, beginning regular chanting and reading. Notably, five individuals who first came through Studio 108 are now either initiated or are aspiring for a spiritual master.

Monthly retreats to locations such as Ahimsa Farm supported deeper immersion and relationshipbuilding, while the launch of the Studio108 podcast, Hear for Now, extended the programme’s reach.

Srila Prabhupada in London

Below, we share an extract from Srila Prabhupada’s lecture on Srimad-Bhagavatam 5.5.2, delivered in London on 1 September 1969.

PRABHUPĀDA:

...sāvadhūtaṁ parijana-sahitaṁ kṛṣṇa-caitanyadevaṁ

śrī-rādhā-kṛṣṇa-pādān saha-gaṇa-lalitā-śrīviśākhānvitāṁś ca

Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare.

jayatāṁ suratau paṅgor mama manda-mater gatī mat-sarvasva-padāmbhojau rādhā-madana-[mohanau]

[Glory to the all-merciful Rādhā and Madanamohana! I am lame and ill advised, yet They are my directors, and Their lotus feet are everything to me.]

mahat-sevāṁ dvāram āhur vimuktes tamo-dvāraṁ yoṣitāṁ saṅgi-saṅgam mahāntas te sama-cittāḥ praśāntā vimanyavaḥ suhṛdaḥ sādhavo ye

[SB 5.5.2]

[One can attain the path of liberation from material bondage only by rendering service to highly advanced spiritual personalities. These personalities are impersonalists and devotees. Whether one wants to merge into the Lord’s existence or wants to associate with the Personality of Godhead, one should render service to the mahātmās. For those who are not interested in such activities, who associate with people fond of women and sex, the path to hell is wide open. The mahātmās are equipoised. They do not see any difference between one living entity and another. They are very peaceful and are fully engaged in devotional service. They are devoid of anger, and they work for the benefit of everyone. They do not behave in any abominable way. Such people are known as mahātmās.]

Last meeting we have been describing the symptoms of mahātmā, great soul. So the first symptom is that he is equal to everyone, sama-cittāḥ. And the next qualification is  praśāntā. Praśāntā means pacified. He›s not disturbed by any material anxiety. And why a great soul should be disturbed by material anxieties? Because he has no material desire. Anyone who has got material desire, he is full of material anxiety. But one who has no material desire, one who lives only for serving Kṛṣṇa, naturally he has no anxieties. Praśāntā.

There is another verse in ŚrīmadBhāgavatam quoted by Yamunācārya, that he says, bhavantam evānucaran nirantaraḥ. bhavantam evānucaran nirantaraḥ praśānta-niḥśeṣa-mano-rathāntaraḥ kadāham aikāntika-nitya-kiṅkaraḥ praharṣayiṣyāmi sanātha-jīvitam

[Stotra-ratna 43]

[By serving You constantly, one is freed from all material desires and is completely pacified. When shall I engage as Your permanent eternal servant and always feel joyful to have such a fitting master?]

This is very important verse. Śrī Yamunācārya says, “My dear Lord,” bhavantam evānucaran nirantaraḥ, “when I shall be fully engaged in Your service?” This is the process of being freed from all anxiety. Just like this child. This child is restless. He›s going here, going there. But if the child is given some engagement, toy, which he likes, then she will remain there pacified and will not disturb any of us. That is natural.

Similarly, we are part and parcel of the Supreme Lord. So long we are not again linked up with His service, with His... So long we are not again reestablished in our lost relationship with Kṛṣṇa, we shall remain restless. That is our natural condition. Just like the child is crying, restless. But as soon as the mother takes the child on the lap, the child is immediately pacified. Why? Because the child wants that. She cannot express what she wants. She is crying. But she has no language to express, but she can express her feeling. As soon as she is on the lap of the mother, she understands, “Now I am fully satisfied.” You can also understand.

So even there is no language, there is a stage of satisfaction. That stage is Kṛṣṇa consciousness. As soon as one comes to the stage of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, he’ll be satisfied. And unless he comes to that stage, he’ll always be disturbed, full of anxieties.

Therefore our prayer should be how we shall be twenty-four hours engaged in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Bhavantam evānucaran nirantaraḥ praśānta-niḥśeṣa.

The annual London Mellows kirtan festival took place on Saturday 19th July, bringing together kirtaneers from London, across the UK, and abroad. The event created a deeply absorbing atmosphere of devotional sound, uniting the community through extended, heartfelt kirtan.

KIDS TALENT SHOW

On Sunday 27th April, ISKCON London hosted its first Kids Talent Show, offering children aged 4 to 12 a joyful opportunity to present music, dance, and sloka recitations to Sri Sri Radha-Londonisvara. The programme featured devotional dances, Bhagavad-gita and Hanuman Chalisa recitations, classical and group performances, and heartfelt singing. The event was blessed by Adikarta dasa (ACBSP), who encouraged the children and later spoke on raising Krishna-conscious children. Parents shared reflections on nurturing devotion in family life, and all participants were honoured with tokens of appreciation.

BHAKTI BLOSSOMS FESTIVAL – A CELEBRATION OF VAISHNAVIS

On Saturday 14th June, ISKCON London hosted its inaugural Bhakti Blossoms Festival, a dedicated gathering for Vaishnavis envisioned by Temple President Dayal Mora dasa. Led by Amala Manjari devi dasi and Manjari Gopika devi dasi, the festival brought together around 40 women at various stages of devotional life. Highlights included inspiring talks, interactive sastra-based activities and games, shared reflections, and the association of senior devotees. The programme concluded with joyful kirtan and prasadam, leaving participants uplifted and eager for future gatherings.

Sunday Feast Programme

The year featured many inspiring special Sundays, including guest speakers, cultural programmes, the first-ever Kids Talent Show, and interactive classes. At the heart of every Sunday Feast programme, hundreds of plates of prasadam were lovingly prepared and served. The team looks ahead to continued growth in 2026.

2025 was a year of growth, devotion, and community for the Sunday Feast programme at ISKCON London. The team expanded to 50 dedicated volunteers, all serving with enthusiasm in the mood of Srila Prabhupada’s vision. Weekly attendance averaged 120 to 150 guests, rising to around 200 during special programmes and visits by senior speakers. The programme continued to be a welcoming space for spiritual learning and devotional association.

A strong focus was placed on caring for the Sunday Feast volunteers, with regular Bhakti Steps sanga sessions, a nurturing family atmosphere, and opportunities to serve across book distribution, events, festivals, and Pujari. The team regularly bonded through kirtans in the park, attending retreats, cooking the Sunday Feast together, celebrating birthdays together, and participation in festival dramas.

Vaikuntha International Spiritual Academy

Established in 2025, the Vaikuntha International Spiritual Academy (VISA) is a devotee care initiative offering authentic Vedic education rooted in the Bhagavad-gita, Srimad-Bhagavatam, and bhakti-yoga. VISA provides practical, spiritually grounded programmes that support personal growth, inner transformation, and purposeful living.

VISA offers regular learning sessions, structured Vedic study, mentorship, and reflective content led by experienced teachers.

In May 2025, VISA launched Gita OnBoard, a free four-week online course led by Paramananda Gopal dasa. It was attended by around 100 participants each week. Designed as an entry-level programme, it helped participants apply the wisdom of the Bhagavad-gita to daily life. The course concluded with a certificate-giving ceremony and inspired many attendees to continue their spiritual journey, with several joining Bhakti Steps.

A welcoming and accessible introduction to the Bhagavad-gita, allowing newcomers to connect ancient wisdom with everyday life, requiring no prior background –only openness and curiosity

As an additional offering, regular Maha Morning Programmes are being introduced in January 2026, creating an ongoing space for devotees to gather and practice together.

ANNUAL VOLUNTEER DINNER 2025

The ISKCON London Annual Volunteers Dinner, titled “When the Sun Shines”, took place on Sunday 14 September 2025 at a beautiful new location St John’s Waterloo, bringing together volunteers from across the temple’s many departments for an evening of appreciation, inspiration, and warm association. The event was further enriched by the presence of several disciples of Srila Prabhupada.

Volunteers were welcomed from mid-afternoon with light prasadam on arrival and a beautiful piano accompaniment, followed by a thoughtfully curated stage programme. Temple President Dayal Mora dasa opened the evening with reflections on gratitude and the essential role volunteers play in sustaining Srila Prabhupada’s mission. This was followed by the premiere of the drama “When the Sun Shines”, an uplifting keynote address from Ranchor dasa (ACBSP), alongside inspiring kirtans, and heartfelt expressions of appreciation.

A particularly moving moment of the evening was the presentation of special awards recognising exceptional dedication. Vamsivata dasa was honoured for his devoted service as Head Pujari, as he now moves on to serve his spiritual master full time. The community also recognised Scott for his many years of committed service in the temple kitchen and Govinda’s Restaurant.

A book table and signing session with Ranchor dasa offered further personal interaction. A children’s programme ran alongside the main event, and the evening concluded with a sumptuous prasadam feast, enjoyed in a joyful and relaxed atmosphere.

Heartfelt thanks are extended to all volunteers whose continued dedication supports ISKCON London.
