OUR PRODUCT
Orient Industries are produced under a controlled manufacturing process to ensure uniform hardness, density, and microstructure, delivering durability and extended service life. Available in two forms—shot and grit—each is designed for specific industrial applications. Steel shot is spherical and made by atomizing a molten mixture of premium steel scrap and selected alloys through water jets, followed by drying, size screening, and precise heat treatment to achieve optimal microstructure and hardness. Steel grit, on the other hand, is produced by crushing fully hardened shot, screening the media, and tempering it to the desired hardness. Grit is ideal for tumblast applications, providing rapid cleaning and surface coverage where a slightly rough finish is acceptable.
STEEL SHOT
Steel shot is a spherical form of steel produced through a precise casting process. It is created by pouring molten high-grade steel scrap blended with select alloys through fine water jets. When the molten metal comes into contact with water, it instantly atomizes into round particles of controlled sizes. These particles are collected in a water tank, dried, and carefully screened for uniformity. They are then quenched and tempered through a specialized heat-treatment process that ensures consistent hardness and a refined microstructure before undergoing a final sizing and quality screening.
STEEL GRIT
Steel grit is produced by crushing hardened steel shot and screening it into precise particle sizes before tempering it to the required hardness. This abrasive performs exceptionally well in tumblast operations, where its angular shape and rebound properties ensure thorough surface coverage. It is ideal for coating and rust removal processes that demand fast cleaning speeds and can accommodate a slightly rough surface finish.
