GENGREEN EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS Programme Title: Sustainable Lifestyle Bingo
Target Group: Athletes, staff, families, youth groups, schools, sports clubs, for all ages and ability levels.
Organisation: GreenCoach project (leader Ecoserveis)
Duration: quick version (1-day challenge) or standard version: 1-week
Summary Participants are given a Bingo card filled with sustainability challenges (e.g., use a reusable water bottle, walk to training, eat a vegetarian meal). As they complete tasks, they mark off their boxes. Individuals or teams try to complete rows, columns, or the entire card over a set time (e.g., one week). Prizes or recognition can be given for participation or completion.
Description Description 1. Kickoff Session (15 mins) Introduce the concept of sustainable actions: simple, everyday choices that make a difference. Hand out Bingo cards (each square is a challenge like “Refuse a plastic bag” or “Carpool to training”). Explain the rules: participants aim to complete a line, an "X", or the full card.
2. Ongoing Challenge (3–7 Days) Objectives Participants complete tasks and tick them off as they go. Optionally: share photos to a team WhatsApp group or pin photos on a physical board. Encourage team interaction: “Challenge a teammate to do 3 boxes together!” 3. Wrap-up & Recognition (15–30 mins) Celebrate top participants or teams. Give out eco-prizes or public shout-outs. Use the wrap-up to reflect: “What actions were easiest? What habits will you keep?”
Challenges Need to balance difficulty—make tasks doable for all backgrounds. If digital tracking is used, ensure access is easy for all.
