MOVE CONGRESS 2025 SUSTAINABILITY POLICY Vision Our vision is to make MOVE Congress 2025 a leading example of how large-scale grassroots sport congresses and events can operate sustainably—minimising environmental impact, maximising community engagement, and inspiring participants to embrace greener practices in their own contexts. We recognise the environmental cost of hosting an in-person event, yet our goal is to set a positive example by demonstrating that, while such events inevitably have a climate impact, they can still be organised in ways that significantly reduce and offset their footprint.
Mission Our mission is to embed environmental sustainability into every aspect of MOVE Congress 2025—from planning and operations to programme content and legacy—by working closely with youth leaders, partners, suppliers, participants, and the ISCA community. We aim to make sustainability both visible and actionable before, during, and after the event, setting an inspiring example for other sport event organisers, especially in grassroots sport sector. We recognise that challenging traditional event models is not easy, but through MOVE Congress 2025 we commit to challenging ourselves and, in turn, encouraging other organisers to do the same. We want to create a lasting legacy of knowledge, inspiration, and networks—empowering organisations to deliver more sustainable events in the future, in close cooperation with Sport Event Denmark and our other sustainability partners.
Definition of Sustainability For MOVE Congress 2025, sustainability- first and foremost environmental sustainabilitymeans planning, delivering, and following up on the event in ways that minimise its environmental footprint, maximise positive social and cultural impact, and create a legacy of change. From ISCA’s side, this involves embedding sustainable practices into every stage of the Congress—working with youth leaders, partners, suppliers, and participants to make greener choices in areas such as transport, catering, waste, energy, and water use.
