AI Fashion Week

New York is set to host its first AI Fashion Week at Soho’s Spring Studios. The event will showcase collections from emerging designers who are using AI as a tool to push the boundaries of fashion.

Supported by Spring Studios and e-commerce company Revolve Group, AI Fashion Week aims to highlight the potential of AI in the design process while helping new talent bring their visions to life. All submitted designs must be possible to manufacture in the real world.

Winners will be selected to receive backing from AIFW’s fashion-tech incubator, in partnership with Revolve. Their collections will be physically produced and sold through either Revolve or its luxury platform. Designers will also receive hands-on support throughout the process, including pattern making, sample development, and marketing.

The event is being produced by Maison Meta, an AI creative studio founded by Cyril Foiret, who also runs the digital platform Trendland. According to Foiret, the goal is to bridge the gap between digital creativity and real-world fashion: “It’s about mixing both worlds together,” he says.

Despite ongoing concerns about AI replacing human creativity, AIFW emphasizes the importance of human input. Designers must edit and refine their AI-assisted work to ensure it reflects their personal creative vision.
