Discounted rates: Isaac Regional Council rates discount period ends Friday April 29.
Save on rates before it’s too late Don’t miss out on the discounted rates period and register an email address with Isaac Regional Council. Chief Executive Officer Rod Ferguson says rate payers should have received their rates notice in the mail, but it is not too late if they haven’t. “We understand there can be delays in the postal service in rural areas, that is why we are encouraging rate payers to register their email with Council,” he said. “Once we have their email address we are able to send an electronic copy of their rates notice.” “Council encourages prompt payment of rates on or before April 29, to take advantage of the 10 per cent discount for general rates.” “Some financial institutions can take up to three working days to process an electronic payment, so please check with your bank or credit union to ensure your payment is received by Council in time to secure your discount,” he said. “General rates contribute to the cost of vital community services in the region, including public facilities, environmental health, local roads, footpaths, bikeways, and much more.” Ratepayers are advised that Council rates and charges that remain unpaid after Friday April 29, 2016 will incur 11% interest per annum, compounded daily. If you have not received your rates notice or would like to register an email, contact Council at records@isaac.qld.gov.au or phone 1300 ISAACS (472 227) between 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
Rate payment options can be found on the rates notices and are: • By phone using a credit card- simply call 1300 ISAACS (472 227) • By Direct Debit, the discounted amount will be deducted three working days before the due date, please contact Council for the application form • Via Internet banking • By BPay if registered with your financial institution • By mail using cheque or money order to Isaac Regional Council, PO Box 97, MORANBAH QLD 4744 • In person at one of Council’s offices between 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Ratepayers who cannot make payment by the due date can apply to be considered for a payment arrangement. Application forms are available from Council offices or at www.isaac.qld.gov.au. Ratepayers who have written to Council for a remission/ objection/change of category or any other issue, are still required to pay their rates by the due date and will be liable for any interest incurred on a late payment. If a ratepayer’s rates adjustment request is granted by Council any overpayment of rates paid will be refunded. The prompt payment 10 per cent discount applies to general rates, and excludes all special rates and charges, provided outstanding amounts and overdue rates and interest are paid in full by the due date. Commemorate Anzac Day in Isaac The Centenary of the Anzac lives on during Isaac Anzac Day services.

Mayor Anne Baker said this year marks a significant milestone in World War One, as we acknowledge the Centenary of the Somme. “Almost 300,000 Australians served on the Western Front in France and Flanders, taking part in every major British Offensive between 1916 and the Armistice in 1918,” she said. “More than 46,000 lost their lives, of whom some 18,000 have no known grave. “This Anzac Day will touch many people in different ways, and I encourage the community to attend services being held throughout the region. “There will be community breakfasts and luncheons to follow services, to commemorate this special occasion.” Anzac Day dawn and morning services will be held in Clermont with the Dawn Service being held at 4.28am at the RSL and the Morning Service will be held at 9.30am at Hoods Lagoon.

Commercial beef producers have the opportunity to purchase some of the best bulls on offer in the Isaac Region. Ozobots are back! Ozobots have returned to the Clermont Library for Term 2. These little robots proved to be very popular with children who attended Ozobot sessions at the Clermont Library during the Christmas/New Year break. Children will have fun learning codes and designing tracks for the Ozobots to follow. Ozobot sessions for school-children aged eight years and up will be held at the Clermont Library on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3.30pm to 4pm during Term 2 of the school calendar. It is a great opportunity for children interested in robotics and a maze challenge is planned. First Five Forever The First Five Forever program aims to give children from birth to five years old the best chance in life and improve literacy outcomes. Babies and children love sharing stories and it’s never too early to talk, read and tell stories with your child. Get animated with Sunshine Online Sunshine Online is one of several free library e-resources available through the Isaac Libraries link on the Isaac Regional Council website. Sunshine Online is an animated and interactive maths and literacy learning database for children aged four to nine years. Sunshine Online offers literacy three literacy levels – emergent, early and fluent and can also help children to develop or expand their maths skills. Children love Baby Bounce, Storytime, Craft and Rhymetime Have you recently moved to Clermont with a young family and want to meet other young families. The Clermont Library runs several weekly children’s sessions and these are a good way to connect with other parents with young children. Rhymetime and Craft is held from 9.30am to 10am every Tuesday for children up to five years old, where they can sing and dance to nursery rhyme songs. Baby Bounce is held on Thursday from 9.30am to 10am and is aimed at children aged up to two years. Baby Bounce is a chance for parents to interact with their child through movement, music and song. Storytime and Craft time for the littlies is held at the Clermont Library every Friday from 9.30am to 10.30am and caters for children up to Prep age. Are you a keen photographer? The Colours of Isaac photography competition is open to people of all ages to show off their love for photography by capturing the Isaac region. This year the competition will run on Council’s Facebook page with the winners determined by public vote. 2016 Theme: Isaac inspires me because… Photographers should submit photos which evoke a sense of wonder capturing an aspect of the Isaac region which inspires them. Entries open Monday 4 April until Sunday 17 April.

CLASS DESCRIPTION Gut and Butt Blast is a target class that focuses on strengthening and toning the nine core divisions of the abdominal plane. While simultaneously blasting the three muscles of the buttocks, hamstrings and quadriceps. This will increase fat metabolism at rest and help slim and tone those problematic areas. Although not targeted, general whole body conditioning applies and while challenging, is more than suitable for any fitness level. Aqua Fit An excellent fitness class in the water for all ages groups and fitness levels, the class is a combination of deep water and shallow water aquatic exercises designed to improve flexibility, aerobic capacity, muscular strength and endurance. Circuit training This is a form of body conditioning or resistance training using high-intensity/ low-intensity aerobic energy.
It targets strength building and muscular endurance. An exercise ‘circuit’ is one completion of all prescribed exercises in the program. It is highly enjoyable and recommended to all levels of fitness. Open gym This is your opportunity to use the Gym facilities, there will be a basic weights program and WOD on offer for your utilisation, or you could just be creative and do your own training. XT - THUMP boxing it’s a nice way to start your day. This class incorporates 10mins of circuit cardio, 10mins strength training and 20mins thump boxing. A fully functional total body workout that burns, burns, burns. Metafit This is a 30 minute bodyweight training system that gets results! It is a functional and effective, metabolic workout that will change the way you train. Created by a former Royal Marine Commando, Metafit combines the latest HIIT techniques with traditional ‘old school’ bodyweight exercises to set the metabolism on fire! Lets lift circuit Resistance Circuit works on the principle of Circuit Training with stations broken down into a lower and upper body weights workout, using the subscription of low weights high repetition to develop a challenging total body workout, ensuring lean muscle mass gains.
