FAMILIES TO CREATE NEW MEMORIES THANKS TO COUNCILâS LIVEABILITY UPGRADES Creating liveable spaces where residents in Clermont can enjoy with families and friends has been part of Isaac Regional Councilâs list over the past 12 months.
âIt is also used by community groups and schools who use the Sportsgrounds complex for functions and carnivals.â
As part of Councilâs 2017-18 Building Isaacâs Future budget, a series of works have been completed in the historic town.
Acting Mayor Kelly Vea Vea said to complement Councilâs completed a footpath renewal project at Hoodâs Lagoon, funded by the Queensland Governmentâs 2017-19 Works for Queensland Program.
Division 6 Councillor Lyn Jones said from sporting grounds to newly installed play equipment, thereâs a lot to enjoy in Clermontâs great outdoors. âWeâre proud to announce the new play equipment and shade structure at the Skate Park is now complete,â she said. âChildren and their families will be able to make new memories here with the new play equipment. âThis includes a play tower, slide and track; and a two-bay swing set and the ground has sand soft fall and concrete edging.â Cr Jones said in May, the sportsground canteen and kiosk received an upgrade which included a new triple preparation sink and tapware, minor electrical work, internal walls sealed and made vermin proof. âThis facility will be used by local and visiting sporting clubs including rugby league, rugby union and cricket,â Cr Jones said.

âThe upgrade included more than 200m of footpath widening to cycleway standard,â she said. Cr Jones said the installation of new lights for the footpath are underway. âWe are installing LED lights on the northern side; solar lights for the southern side; and pole replacement,â Cr Jones said. âNew fencing was installed at the picnic tables and a new aerator installed in the lagoon.â Cr Vea Vea said while the region is rich in resources â its real wealth and biggest asset is its people and the lifestyle it brings. âIt is clear Clermontâs future has an optimistic and motivated outlook,â she said. âWe are investing in our parks and gardens to encourage healthy living and wellbeing.â
